Surah Al-A'raf (The Heights) — سورة الأعراف - **Verse:** 162 / 206 · **Juz:** 9 · **Mushaf page:** 170 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-162 ## Arabic فَبَدَّلَ الَّذ۪ينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ قَوْلاً غَيْرَ الَّذ۪ي ق۪يلَ لَهُمْ فَاَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزاً مِنَ السَّمَٓاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَظْلِمُونَ۟ ## Transcription Fabaddala allatheena thalamoominhum qawlan ghayra allathee qeela lahum faarsalnaAAalayhim rijzan mina assama-i bima kanooyathlimoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley But those of them who did wrong substituted words other than those they had been given. So We sent a plague on them from heaven for their wrongdoing. ### Progressive Muslims Those who were wicked amongst them altered what was said to them with something different; so We sent to them an affliction from the sky because they were wicked. ### Shabbir Ahmed But, some of the wrongdoers began changing the Word of God that was taught to them, and displaced it with their own fabrications. And that resulted in a change in behavior. Our Heavenly Law of Requital caused them to weaken and waver, for they violated the Commands (2:59-61).
