Surah Al-A'raf (The Heights) — سورة الأعراف - **Verse:** 152 / 206 · **Juz:** 9 · **Mushaf page:** 168 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-152 ## Arabic اِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ اتَّخَذُوا الْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِي الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۜ وَكَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُفْتَر۪ينَ ## Transcription Inna allatheena ittakhathooalAAijla sayanaluhum ghadabun min rabbihim wathillatunfee alhayati addunya wakathalikanajzee almuftareen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley As for those who adopted the Calf, anger from their Lord will overtake them together with abasement in the life of the dunya. That is how we repay the purveyors of falsehood. ### Progressive Muslims Those who took-up the calf will be dealt with a wrath from their Lord and a humiliation in this worldly life. It is such that We punish the fabricators. ### Shabbir Ahmed Those who chose the calf for worship, have incurred their Lord's Requital, and humiliation in the life of this world. Thus do We requite those who invent a lie. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary In reply they were told: 'Verily those who worshipped the calf will certainly incur indignation from their Lord, and will be abased in the life of this world. Thus do We reward those who fabricate lies. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Indeed those who reverenced the calf and adored it with appropriate acts and rites shall come within the measure of Allah's wrath and shall be incensed with humiliation in life below, for thus do We requite those who intentionally assert what is false. ### Bijan Moeinian The Lord said: "Those who chose the cow as their god, have surely earned their Lord's anger. They will encounter nothing but the misery in their worldly life.
