Surah Al-'Ankabut (The Spider) — سورة العنكبوت - **Verse:** 61 / 69 · **Juz:** 21 · **Mushaf page:** 402 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-ankabut/verse-61 ## Arabic وَلَئِنْ سَاَلْتَهُمْ مَنْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللّٰهُۚ فَاَنّٰى يُؤْفَكُونَ ## Transcription Wala-in saaltahum man khalaqa assamawatiwal-arda wasakhkhara ashshamsa walqamaralayaqoolunna Allahu faanna yu/fakoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley If you ask them, ‘Who created the heavens and the earth and made the sun and moon subservient?’ they will say, ‘Allah. ’ So how have they been perverted? ### Progressive Muslims And if you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the Earth, and put the sun and the moon in motion" They will Say: "God. " Why then did they deviate ### Shabbir Ahmed And thus it is - if you ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth, and made subservient the sun and the moon?" They will answer, "Allah". How come, then, are they lost in the wilderness of thought! (The Creator must be the Law-giving Authority to mankind as He is in the entire Universe. " Then how are they deluded? ### Muhammad Asad And thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth, and made the sun and the moon subservi­ent [to His laws]?" - they will surely answer, “God. ” How perverted, then, are their minds! ### Marmaduke Pickthall And if thou wert to ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, and constrained the sun and the moon (to their appointed work)? they would say: Allah.
