Surah Al-Anbiya (The Prophets) — سورة الأنبياء - **Verse:** 93 / 112 · **Juz:** 17 · **Mushaf page:** 329 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-anbiya/verse-93 ## Arabic وَتَقَطَّعُٓوا اَمْرَهُمْ بَيْنَهُمْۜ كُلٌّ اِلَيْنَا رَاجِعُونَ۟ ## Transcription WataqattaAAoo amrahum baynahum kullunilayna rajiAAoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley But they disagreed and split into different sects. Each one will return to Us. ### Progressive Muslims And they disputed in the matter amongst themselves. Each of them will be returned to Us. ### Shabbir Ahmed But people have torn their unity wide asunder, (forgetting that) unto Our Law and ultimately unto Us are they bound to return. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation But they divided their affair between them; all are returning to Us. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Andthey disputed in the matter among themselves. All of them will come back to us (for judgment). ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira But they split up the order among themselves; (yet) all of them have to come back to Me. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And [yet] they divided their affair among themselves, [but] all to Us will return. ### Muhammad Asad But men have torn their unity wide asunder, [forgetting that] unto Us they all are bound to return. ### Marmaduke Pickthall And they have broken their religion (into fragments) among them, (yet) all are returning unto Us. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary But they tore asunder their faith into many parts.[1] But to Us they are bound to return. _Footnotes_ - [1] In this verse, the addressees are the entire mankind. It means: O mankind, in reality all of you belonged to one community and had one and the same religion and all the Prophets brought one and the same creed which was this: Allah alone is the Lord of all mankind, therefore they should worship Him alone. But afterwards the people corrupted this creed and invented and adopted the things they liked and mixed their own theories, whims and practices in it. This brought into being countless communities and religions. Thus it is absolutely wrong to say that a particular Prophet was the founder of a particular religion and another of another, and so on. The very fact that different religions came into being at different periods of time, does not prove that the Prophets created these differences. It is obvious that the Prophets of God could not found different religions nor could they teach their followers to worship any beings other than Allah. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Yet people according to their desires and irreligious viewpoints set themselves at variance, but all shall inevitably return to Us. ### Bijan Moeinian As for those who have broken this nation into pieces [creating different sects and religions, ] they have an appointment with Me. ### Al-Hilali & Khan But they have broken up and differed as regards their religion among themselves.
