Surah Al-Anbiya (The Prophets) — سورة الأنبياء - **Verse:** 19 / 112 · **Juz:** 17 · **Mushaf page:** 322 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-anbiya/verse-19 ## Arabic وَلَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِۜ وَمَنْ عِنْدَهُ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِه۪ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَۚ ## Transcription Walahu man fee assamawatiwal-ardi waman AAindahu la yastakbiroonaAAan AAibadatihi wala yastahsiroon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Everyone in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him. Those in His presence do not consider themselves too great to worship Him and do not grow tired of it. ### Progressive Muslims And to Him is whoever is in the heavens and in the Earth. And those who are near Him are not too proud to serve Him, nor do they complain. ### Shabbir Ahmed Unto Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those who dwell in His presence are not too proud to worship Him, nor do they weary; ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary To Him[1] belongs whosoever dwells in the heavens and on earth. Those (angels) that are with Him[2] neither disdain to serve Him out of pride, nor do they weary of it.[3] _Footnotes_ - [1] From here begins the discourse on the confirmation of Tauhid and the refutation of shirk for these were the actual bases of the conflict between the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the disbelievers of Makkah. The line of argument is this: The whole system of the universe is a clear proof that there is One Allah Who is its Creator, Sovereign, Ruler, and Lord and it is a falsehood that there are many gods who are partners in His Kingdom and Sovereignty, or that there is a Supreme God Who has under Him some minor gods to conduct the affairs of His Kingdom. This proof is also based on the preceding verses in which it has been stated that the universe has not been created as a pastime or a plaything, but for a serious purpose and that there has always been a conflict between the truth and falsehood, and falsehood has always been defeated and destroyed. - [2] That is, the angels whom the mushriks of Arabia believed to be the children of God and worshiped them as partners in Godhead. - [3] That is, they are engaged in His service day and night without grumbling or ever feeling wearied. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab And to Allah alone belong all that is in the heavens and on earth, and those serving in His realm of heaven do not pride themselves nor show inordinate self- esteem for serving Him and prostrating to Him in adoration nor do they ever grow weary. ### Bijan Moeinian To God belongs every soul in the heavens and on earth. Those who are close to Him, never feel that it is beneath their dignity to worship Him; they worship Him from the bottom of their heart. ### Al-Hilali & Khan To Him belongs whosoever is in the heavens and on earth. And those who are near Him (i.e. the angels) are not too proud to worship Him, nor are they weary (of His worship). ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali To Him belong all (creatures) in the heavens and on earth: Even those who are in His (very) Presence are not too proud to serve Him, nor are they (ever) weary (of His service): ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran To Him belong all those in the heavens and the earth.
