Surah Al-Anbiya (The Prophets) — سورة الأنبياء - **Verse:** 18 / 112 · **Juz:** 17 · **Mushaf page:** 322 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-anbiya/verse-18 ## Arabic بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَاِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌۜ وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ ## Transcription Bal naqthifu bilhaqqiAAala albatili fayadmaghuhu fa-itha huwa zahiqunwalakumu alwaylu mimma tasifoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Rather We hurl the truth against falsehood and it cuts right through it and it vanishes clean away! Woe without end for you for what you portray! ### Progressive Muslims No, We cast with the truth upon the falsehood, so it disrupts it, and then it retreats. And woe to you for what you have described. ### Shabbir Ahmed Nay, We hurl the true against the false, and it crushes it and verily falsehood has to vanish. Woe to you for what you utter![1] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, the object for which this world has been created is to stage a conflict between the truth and falsehood. And you yourselves know that in this conflict falsehood has always been defeated and destroyed. You should, therefore, consider this reality seriously. For, if you build the system of your life on the false presumption that it is mere fun, you will meet with the same consequences as the former people did, who presumed that the world was a mere show and pastime. Therefore you should reconsider your whole attitude towards the message which has come to you.
