Surah Al-An'am (The Cattle) — سورة الأنعام - **Verse:** 55 / 165 · **Juz:** 7 · **Mushaf page:** 133 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-anam/verse-55 ## Arabic وَكَذٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْاٰيَاتِ وَلِتَسْتَب۪ينَ سَب۪يلُ الْمُجْرِم۪ينَ۟ ## Transcription Wakathalika nufassilu al-ayatiwalitastabeena sabeelu almujrimeen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley In that way We make the Signs plain so that you may clearly see the path of the evildoers. ### Progressive Muslims And it is such that We explain the revelations, and make clear the way of the criminals. ### Shabbir Ahmed We explain Our Laws to distinguish (between minor, unintended violations and) the way of the criminals who steal the fruit of others' labor. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And thus We set out and detail the proofs; and that the path of the lawbreakers might be made manifest: ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation And it is such that We explain the revelations, and point out the way of the criminals. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament We thus explain the revelations, and point out the ways of the wicked. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira Thus distinctly do We explain Our signs that the way of sinners may become distinct. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And thus do We detail the verses, and [thus] the way of the criminals will become evident. ### Muhammad Asad And thus clearly do We spell out Our messages: and [We do it] so that the path of those who are lost in sin might be distinct [from that of the righteous]. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Thus do We expound the revelations that the way of the unrighteous may be manifest. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Thus We clearly set forth Our signs so that the way of the wicked might become distinct.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] 'And thus' refers to the whole of the foregoing discussion, beginning with (verse 37): 'And they say: Why has no miraculous sign been sent down to him?' The purpose of this remark is to stress that the persistence of some people in their denial of the Truth and in their disbelief, in spite of a host of unmistakably clear signs and arguments, was sufficient to prove beyond doubt that they were merely a bunch of criminals. If they persisted in error and transgression it was neither through any lack of strong arguments in support of the Truth nor, conversely, because of strong arguments in support of falsehood.
