Surah Al-An'am (The Cattle) — سورة الأنعام - **Verse:** 51 / 165 · **Juz:** 7 · **Mushaf page:** 132 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-anam/verse-51 ## Arabic وَاَنْذِرْ بِهِ الَّذ۪ينَ يَخَافُونَ اَنْ يُحْشَرُٓوا اِلٰى رَبِّهِمْ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِه۪ وَلِيٌّ وَلَا شَف۪يعٌ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ ## Transcription Waanthir bihi allatheena yakhafoonaan yuhsharoo ila rabbihim laysa lahum min doonihiwaliyyun wala shafeeAAun laAAallahum yattaqoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Warn by it those who fear they will be gathered to their Lord, having no protector or intercessor apart from Him, so that hopefully they will have taqwa. ### Progressive Muslims And warn with it those who realize that they will be gathered to their Lord; they do not have besides Him any protector nor intercessor; so that they may be righteous. ### Shabbir Ahmed Counsel those who are mindful of the Law of Requital and have the slightest idea that they will be brought before their Lord. And they know that besides Allah, they will have no protector and no intercessor. They may haply take heed for themselves. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And warn by the Qur'an those who fear that they will be gathered before their Lord - for them besides Him will be no protector and no intercessor - that they might become righteous. ### Muhammad Asad And warn hereby those who fear lest they be gathered unto their Sustainer with none to protect them from Him or to intercede with Him, so that they might become [fully] conscious of Him. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Warn hereby those who fear (because they know) that they will be gathered unto their Lord, for whom there is no protecting ally nor intercessor beside Him, that they may ward off (evil). ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary And warn with this (revealed message) those who fear that they shall be mustered to their Lord, that there will be none apart from Allah to act as their protector and intercessor; then maybe they will become God-fearing.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] Those who are too deeply immersed in the allurements of earthly life to think either of death or of their being brought to stand before God for His judgement can hardly benefit from such admonitions. Likewise, such admonitions can have no wholesome effect on those who cherish the illusion that because of their attachment to some holy personage who will intercede on their behalf, they will come to no harm in the Hereafter. The same applies to those who believe that someone has already obtained their redemption by expiating their sins. The Prophet (peace be on him) is therefore asked to disregard such persons and to attend to those who are conscious, those with no false illusions. Only these people are susceptible to admonitions and can be expected to reform themselves. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab And use the Quran O Muhammad to warn those who are apprehensive of the inevitable occasion when they are thronged before Allah, their Creator, besides Whom they simply have no tutelary protector nor an intercessor, they may, hopefully entertain the profound reverence dutiful to Him. ### Bijan Moeinian Warn those who are afraid of being resurrected and stand in front of their Lord [for the judgment] that they will find none but God as their Protector and Intercessor. May they [in account of this warning] adopt a God pleasing way of life. ### Al-Hilali & Khan And warn therewith (the Qur’ân) those who fear that they will be gathered before their Lord, when there will be neither a protector nor an intercessor for them besides Him, so that they may fear Allâh and keep their duty to Him (by abstaining from committing sins and by doing all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained). ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Give this warning to those in whose (hearts) is the fear that they will be brought (to judgment) before their Lord: except for Him they will have no protector nor intercessor: that they may guard (against evil). ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Warn with this ˹Quran˺ those who are awed by the prospect of being gathered before their Lord—when they will have no protector or intercessor besides Him—so perhaps they will be mindful ˹of Him˺. ### Taqi Usmani Warn, with it, those who have the fear of being gathered before their Lord, with no one other than Him to support or to intercede. Maybe they become God-fearing. ### Abdul Haleem Use the Quran to warn those who fear being gathered before their Lord- they will have no one but Him to protect them and no one to intercede- so that they may beware. ### Arthur John Arberry And warn therewith those who fear they shall be mustered to their Lord; they have, apart from God, no protector and no intercessor; haply they will be godfearing. ### E.
