Surah Al-Ahzab (The Clans) — سورة الأحزاب - **Verse:** 57 / 73 · **Juz:** 22 · **Mushaf page:** 425 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-ahzab/verse-57 ## Arabic اِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ يُؤْذُونَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُولَهُ لَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ وَاَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَاباً مُه۪يناً ## Transcription Inna allatheena yu/thoona Allahawarasoolahu laAAanahumu Allahu fee addunyawal-akhirati waaAAadda lahum AAathabanmuheena ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley As for those who abuse Allah and His Messenger, Allah’s curse is on them in this world and the Next World. He has prepared a humiliating punishment for them. ### Progressive Muslims Surely those who harm God and His messenger, God will curse them in this life and in the Hereafter; and He has prepared for them a shameful retribution. ### Shabbir Ahmed Verily, those who malign Allah and His Messenger, Allah will deprive them of His Grace in this world and in the Hereafter. He has readied for them a humiliating punishment. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Those who hinder God and His messenger: God has cursed them in the World and the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating punishment. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Surely those who harm God and His messenger, God will curse them in this world and in the Hereafter; and He has prepared for them a shameful retribution. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Surely, those who oppose GOD and His messenger, GOD afflicts them with a curse in this life, and in the Hereafter; He has prepared for them a shameful retribution. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira Those who offend God and His Prophet will be damned in this world and the next. There is a shameful punishment ready for them. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) Indeed, those who abuse Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and prepared for them a humiliating punishment. ### Muhammad Asad Verily, as for those who [knowingly] affront God and His Apostle - God will reject them in this world and in the life to come; and shameful suffering will He ready for them. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Lo! those who malign Allah and His messenger, Allah hath cursed them in the world and the Hereafter, and hath prepared for them the doom of the disdained. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Verily those who cause annoyance to Allah and His Messenger — Allah has cursed them in this world and in the Hereafter and has prepared for them a humiliating chastisement.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] "To cause harm to Allah" implies two things: That Allah should be disobeyed, that an attitude of disbelief and shirk and atheism be adopted with regard to Him, and that things made unlawful by Him be made lawful; and (2) that His Messenger be troubled, for just as obedience to the Messenger is obedience to Allah, so is opposition and disobedience of the Messenger opposition and disobedience of Allah. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Indeed, those who defy Allah and His Messenger or challenge them, have come within the measure of Allah's wrath and have incurred Allah's curse here and Hereafter and there awaits them the torment laid upon the damned. ### Bijan Moeinian Those who do or say the least against God and His Prophet, carry the Lord’s curse in this world and will be punished in a disgraceful manner in the Hereafter. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Verily, those who annoy Allâh and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم)[1] Allâh has cursed them in this world, and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating torment. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Those who annoy Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this World and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating Punishment. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Surely those who offend Allah[1] and His Messenger[2] are condemned by Allah in this world and the Hereafter.
