Surah Al-Ahzab (The Clans) — سورة الأحزاب - **Verse:** 40 / 73 · **Juz:** 22 · **Mushaf page:** 422 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-ahzab/verse-40 ## Arabic مَا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ اَبَٓا اَحَدٍ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْ وَلٰكِنْ رَسُولَ اللّٰهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيّ۪نَۜ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَل۪يماً۟ ## Transcription Ma kana muhammadun abaahadin min rijalikum walakin rasoola Allahiwakhatama annabiyyeena wakana Allahubikulli shay-in AAaleema ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but the Messenger of Allah and the Final Seal of the Prophets. Allah has knowledge of all things. ### Progressive Muslims Mohammed was not the father of any man among you, but he is the messenger of God and the seal of the prophets. Belli bir amaç için, başkalarına bilgi ve haber götürmek için görevlendirilen kişi demektir. Kur'an bu sözcüğü; Allah'ın, kullarına, haberlerini ulaştırması için seçtiği kişi" anlamında kullanmıştır. Dolayısı ile "işlevsellik" bakımından rasul ve nebi arasında bir fark yoktur. Rasul ile Nebi arasındaki fark: Bir kimse rasul/elçi olarak atanmışsa, onda nebilik görevi de vardır. Zira elçilik görevi olmadan, haber iletme işi olamaz. Rasul, " görev", nebi de "görevli", "haberi getiren" demektir. Rasul/elçi sözcüğü, nebilik dışında da birçok konuda Kur'an'da yer almaktadır. Örneğin can alıcı melekler için de rasul/elçi sözcüğü kullanılmıştır. Haber bittiğine(artık vahiy inzal olamayacağına) göre rasullük/elçilik de bitmiştir. Kimilerinin, nebiliğin bittiğini ancak elçiliğin sürdüğünü ileri sürmeleri tam bir sapkınlıktır. Zira vahiy olmadan elçilik olmaz; haber olmadan, haberci olmaz. ### Ali Rıza Safa — Kur'an-ı Kerim Gerçek Muhammed, sizin erkeklerinizden hiçbirinin babası değildir. Buna karşın, Allah'ın elçisi ve peygamberlerin sonuncusudur.
