Surah Al-Ahzab (The Clans) — سورة الأحزاب - **Verse:** 31 / 73 · **Juz:** 22 · **Mushaf page:** 421 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-ahzab/verse-31 ## Arabic وَمَنْ يَقْنُتْ مِنْكُنَّ لِلّٰهِ وَرَسُولِه۪ وَتَعْمَلْ صَالِحاً نُؤْتِهَٓا اَجْرَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِۙ وَاَعْتَدْنَا لَهَا رِزْقاً كَر۪يماً ## Transcription Waman yaqnut minkunna lillahiwarasoolihi wataAAmal salihan nu/tiha ajrahamarratayni waaAAtadna laha rizqan kareema ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley But those of you who are obedient to Allah and His Messenger and act rightly will be given their reward twice over; and We have prepared generous provision for them. ### Progressive Muslims Any whosoever of you is obedient to God and His messenger, and does good works, We will grant her double the recompense, and We have prepared for her a generous provision. ### Shabbir Ahmed And whoever of you is devout in the service of Allah and His Messenger, and helps augment the society, We shall give her reward twice-over, for, We have readied for her a most excellent sustenance. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And whoso among you is humbly obedient to God and His messenger, and works righteousness, We will give her her reward twice over; and We have prepared for her a noble provision. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation And any of you who is dutiful to God and His messenger, and does good works, We will grant her double the recompense, and We have prepared for her a generous provision. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Any one of you who obeys GOD and His messenger, and leads a righteous life, we will grant her double the recompense, and we have prepared for her a generous provision. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira But whoever of you is obedient to God and His Apostle, and does the right, will be given a two-fold reward by Us; and We have a rich provision in readiness for her. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And whoever of you devoutly obeys Allah and His Messenger and does righteousness - We will give her her reward twice; and We have prepared for her a noble provision. ### Muhammad Asad But if any of you devoutly obeys God and His Apostle and does good deeds, on her shall We bestow her reward twice-over: for We shall have readied for her a most excellent sustenance [in the life to come]. ### Marmaduke Pickthall And whosoever of you is submissive unto Allah and His messenger and doeth right, We shall give her her reward twice over, and We have prepared for her a rich provision. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary But whoever of you is obedient to Allah and His Messenger and does good deeds, Allah will double her reward.[1] We have prepared for her a generous provision. _Footnotes_ - [1] The reason for giving a double punishment for a sin and a double reward for a good work is that those whom Allah honors with a high rank in society generally become the leaders of men and the majority of the people follow them for good or for evil. Thus, their evil does not remain their own evil but becomes the cause of a people’s degeneration, and their goodness does not remain their own goodness but becomes the cause of the true success of many other people also. Therefore, when they commit evil they are punished for their own as well as for others degeneration, and when they do good they are not only rewarded for their own good works but also for this that they also guided others to do good. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab And any of you who conforms her will to Allah's will and to that of His Messenger and devotes herself to serving Allah's purpose and imprints her deeds with wisdom and piety shall be the recipient of His mercy and blessings. We will reward her with twice as much of what is commensurate with her deeds and a gracefully blessed provision will have been prepared for her. ### Bijan Moeinian If they do a good deed, on the other hand, they will be rewarded twice as much as God would reward an ordinary person for that good deed.
