Surah Al-Ahqaf (The Dunes) — سورة الأحقاف - **Verse:** 25 / 35 · **Juz:** 26 · **Mushaf page:** 504 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-al-ahqaf/verse-25 ## Arabic تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ بِاَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَاَصْبَحُوا لَا يُرٰٓى اِلَّا مَسَاكِنُهُمْۜ كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِم۪ينَ ## Transcription Tudammiru kulla shay-in bi-amri rabbihafaasbahoo la yura illa masakinuhumkathalika najzee alqawma almujrimeen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley destroying everything at its Lord’s command! When morning came you could see nothing but their dwellings. That is how We repay the people of the evildoers. ### Progressive Muslims It destroys everything by the commanded of its Lord. Thus they became such that nothing could be seen except their homes. We thus requite the criminal people. ### Shabbir Ahmed Bound to destroy everything by its Lord's Command. And morning found them so that nothing could be seen but their empty dwellings. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people. ### Muhammad Asad bound to destroy everything at its Sustainer’s behest!" And then they were so utterly wiped out that nothing could be seen save their [empty] dwellings: thus do We requite people lost in sin. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Destroying all things by commandment of its Lord. And morning found them so that naught could be seen save their dwellings. Thus do We reward the guilty folk. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary that will destroy everything by the command of its Lord." Thereafter nothing was left to be seen except their dwellings.
