ثُمَّ اَنْتُمْ هٰٓؤُ۬لَٓاءِ تَقْتُلُونَ اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَتُخْرِجُونَ فَر۪يقاً مِنْكُمْ مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْۘ تَظَاهَرُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِالْاِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِۜ وَاِنْ يَأْتُوكُمْ اُسَارٰى تُفَادُوهُمْ وَهُوَ مُحَرَّمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ اِخْرَاجُهُمْۜ اَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ الْكِتَابِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍۚ فَمَا جَزَٓاءُ مَنْ يَفْعَلُ ذٰلِكَ مِنْكُمْ اِلَّا خِزْيٌ فِي الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۚ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ يُرَدُّونَ اِلٰٓى اَشَدِّ الْعَذَابِۜ وَمَا اللّٰهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

Thumma antum haola-itaqtuloona anfusakum watukhrijoona fareeqan minkum min diyarihimtathaharoona AAalayhim bil-ithmi walAAudwaniwa-in ya/tookum osara tufadoohum wahuwa muharramunAAalaykum ikhrajuhum afatu/minoona bibaAAdi alkitabiwatakfuroona bibaAAdin fama jazao manyafAAalu thalika minkum illa khizyun fee alhayatiaddunya wayawma alqiyamati yuraddoona ilaashaddi alAAathabi wama Allahu bighafilinAAamma taAAmaloon

Then are you those who kill your own, and turn a faction among you out of their homes, assisting one another against them in sin and enmity; and if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, but unlawful for you was their expulsion. Do you believe in part of the Writ and deny part? Then what is the reward of him among you who does that save disgrace in the life of this world? And on the Day of Resurrection they are sent back to the harshest punishment; and God is not unmindful of what you do.

Waman athlamu mimman manaAAamasajida Allahi an yuthkara feehaismuhu wasaAAa fee kharabiha ola-ikama kana lahum an yadkhulooha illa kha-ifeenalahum fee addunya khizyun walahum fee al-akhiratiAAathabun AAatheem

And who is more unjust than he who hinders the places of worship of God, that His name be not mentioned therein, and strives to undermine them? Those: it was not for them to enter them save in fear; they have disgrace in the World, and they have in the Hereafter a great punishment.

Innama jazao allatheenayuhariboona Allaha warasoolahu wayasAAawna feeal-ardi fasadan an yuqattaloo aw yusallabooaw tuqattaAAa aydeehim waarjuluhum min khilafin awyunfaw mina al-ardi thalika lahum khizyun fee addunyawalahum fee al-akhirati AAathabun AAatheem

The reward but of those who war against God and His messenger, and strive to work corruption in the land, that they be killed, or they be crucified, or their hands and feet be cut off on opposite sides, or they be banished from the land. يَٓا اَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ لَا يَحْزُنْكَ الَّذ۪ينَ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْكُفْرِ مِنَ الَّذ۪ينَ قَالُٓوا اٰمَنَّا بِاَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَلَمْ تُؤْمِنْ قُلُوبُهُمْۚ وَمِنَ الَّذ۪ينَ هَادُوا سَمَّاعُونَ لِلْكَذِبِ سَمَّاعُونَ لِقَوْمٍ اٰخَر۪ينَۙ لَمْ يَأْتُوكَۜ يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَوَاضِعِه۪ۚ يَقُولُونَ اِنْ اُو۫ت۪يتُمْ هٰذَا فَخُذُوهُ وَاِنْ لَمْ تُؤْتَوْهُ فَاحْذَرُواۜ وَمَنْ يُرِدِ اللّٰهُ فِتْنَتَهُ فَلَنْ تَمْلِكَ لَهُ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْـٔاًۜ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ الَّذ۪ينَ لَمْ يُرِدِ اللّٰهُ اَنْ يُطَهِّرَ قُلُوبَهُمْۜ لَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا خِزْيٌ وَلَهُمْ فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظ۪يمٌ

Ya ayyuha arrasoolu layahzunka allatheena yusariAAoona fee alkufrimina allatheena qaloo amanna bi-afwahihimwalam tu/min quloobuhum wamina allatheena hadoosammaAAoona lilkathibi sammaAAoona liqawmin akhareenalam ya/tooka yuharrifoona alkalima min baAAdi mawadiAAihiyaqooloona in ooteetum hatha fakhuthoohu wa-in lamtu/tawhu fahtharoo waman yuridi Allahufitnatahu falan tamlika lahu mina Allahi shay-an ola-ikaallatheena lam yuridi Allahu an yutahhiraquloobahum lahum fee addunya khizyun walahum feeal-akhirati AAathabun AAatheem

O Messenger: let there not grieve thee those who compete in denial among those who say: “We believe,” with their mouths, when their hearts have not believed. And among those who hold to Judaism are eager listeners to lies, eager listeners to another people who have not come to thee (they twist words from their places, saying “If this be given you, receive it; but if it be not given you, beware!” And whom God wishes to try: thou wilt not have power for him against God in anything. Those are they whose hearts God desires not to purify; they have in the World disgrace, and they have in the Hereafter a great punishment)

“Travel in the earth four months; and know that you cannot escape God, and that God will disgrace the false claimers of guidance.”

Fight them! God will punish them at your hands and disgrace them, and help you against them, and heal the breasts of people who believe

Know they not that whoso works against God and His messenger, for him is the fire of Gehenna, wherein he abides eternally? That is the Tremendous Disgrace.

Falawla kanat qaryatun amanatfanafaAAaha eemanuha illa qawmayoonusa lamma amanoo kashafna AAanhum AAathabaalkhizyi fee alhayati addunyawamattaAAnahum ila heen

Oh, that a city had but believed and profited by its faith save the people of Jonah! When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in the life of this world, and gave them enjoyment for a time.

And when Our command came, We delivered Ṣāliḥ and those who heeded warning with him, by mercy from Us, and from the disgrace of that day; thy Lord: He is the Strong, the Exalted in Might.

Wajaahu qawmuhu yuhraAAoona ilayhiwamin qablu kanoo yaAAmaloona assayyi-ati qalaya qawmi haola-i banatee hunna atharulakum fattaqoo Allaha wala tukhzooni fee dayfeealaysa minkum rajulun rasheed

And his people came to him, hastening towards him; and before had they been doing evil deeds. He said: “O my people: these are my daughters; they are purer for you. So be in prudent fear of God, and disgrace me not concerning my guests. Is then there not among you a right-minded man?”

And: “O my people: work according to your power — I am working; you will come to know to whom comes a punishment that disgraces him, and who is a liar. And watch — I am with you watching.”

Then on the Day of Resurrection will He disgrace them, and say: “Where are My partners for whom you were hostile?” Those given knowledge will say: “Disgrace this day, and evil, are upon the false claimers of guidance:

And had We destroyed them with a punishment before him, they would have said: “Our Lord: oh, that Thou hadst but sent to us a messenger, so we might have followed Thy proofs before we were humiliated and disgraced!”

Turning aside proudly to lead away from the path of God. For him in the World is disgrace; and on the Day of Resurrection We will let him taste the punishment of the consuming fire:

### 41. Surah Fussilat, Verse 16

Faarsalna AAalayhim reehan sarsaranfee ayyamin nahisatin linutheeqahumAAathaba alkhizyi fee alhayati addunyawalaAAathabu al-akhirati akhza wahum layunsaroon

Then We sent upon them a howling wind in days of calamity, that We might let them taste the punishment of disgrace in the life of this world; and the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgracing, and they will not be helped.

### 59. Surah Al-Hashr, Verse 5

What you cut down of palm-trees or left standing on its roots: it was by the leave of God, and that He might disgrace the perfidious.

### 66. Surah At-Tahrim, Verse 8

يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا تُوبُٓوا اِلَى اللّٰهِ تَوْبَةً نَصُوحاًۜ عَسٰى رَبُّكُمْ اَنْ يُكَفِّرَ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ وَيُدْخِلَكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْر۪ي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهَارُۙ يَوْمَ لَا يُخْزِي اللّٰهُ النَّبِيَّ وَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا مَعَهُۚ نُورُهُمْ يَسْعٰى بَيْنَ اَيْد۪يهِمْ وَبِاَيْمَانِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّـنَٓا اَتْمِمْ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَاۚ اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَد۪يرٌ

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanootooboo ila Allahi tawbatan nasoohanAAasa rabbukum an yukaffira AAankum sayyi-atikumwayudkhilakum jannatin tajree min tahtihaal-anharu yawma la yukhzee Allahu annabiyyawallatheena amanoo maAAahu nooruhum yasAAabayna aydeehim wabi-aymanihim yaqooloona rabbanaatmim lana noorana waghfir lanainnaka AAala kulli shay-in qadeer

O you who heed warning: turn to God in sincere repentance. It may be that your Lord will remove from you your evil deeds, and make you enter gardens beneath which rivers flow. The day God will not disgrace the Prophet and those who heed warning with him, their light running before them and on their right hand, they will say: “Our Lord: perfect Thou for us our light, and forgive Thou us; Thou art over all things powerful.”
