And believe in what I have sent down confirming what is with you, and be not the first to deny it; and sell not My proofs at a cheap price; and Me — be you in prudent fear of Me.

Laysa albirra an tuwalloo wujoohakum qibalaalmashriqi walmaghribi walakinna albirra man amanabillahi walyawmi al-akhiri walmala-ikatiwalkitabi wannabiyyeena waataalmala AAala hubbihi thawee alqurbawalyatama walmasakeena wabnaalssabeeli wassa-ileena wafee arriqabiwaaqama assalata waataazzakata walmoofoona biAAahdihim ithaAAahadoo wassabireena fee alba/sa-iwaddarra-i waheena alba/si ola-ikaallatheena sadaqoo waola-ika humualmuttaqoon

It is not virtue that you turn your faces towards the East and the West. But virtue is: one who believes in God, and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Writ, and the prophets, and gives wealth in spite of love of it to relatives, and the fatherless, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and those who ask, and to manumit slaves; and who upholds the duty, and renders the purity; and those who keep their covenant when they make a covenant; and the patient in affliction and adversity, and during conflict: those are they who are sincere; and it is they who are those of prudent fear.

Prescribed for you when death is present with one of you, if he leaves wealth: the bequest to parents and relatives according to what is fitting is binding upon those of prudent fear.

اُحِلَّ لَكُمْ لَيْلَةَ الصِّيَامِ الرَّفَثُ اِلٰى نِسَٓائِكُمْۜ هُنَّ لِبَاسٌ لَكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ لِبَاسٌ لَهُنَّۜ عَلِمَ اللّٰهُ اَنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَخْتَانُونَ اَنْفُسَكُمْ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَعَفَا عَنْكُمْۚ فَالْـٰٔنَ بَاشِرُوهُنَّ وَابْتَغُوا مَا كَتَبَ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْۖ وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتّٰى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الْخَيْطُ الْاَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الْاَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْفَجْرِۖ ثُمَّ اَتِمُّوا الصِّيَامَ اِلَى الَّيْلِۚ وَلَا تُبَاشِرُوهُنَّ وَاَنْتُمْ عَاكِفُونَۙ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِۜ تِلْكَ حُدُودُ اللّٰهِ فَلَا تَقْرَبُوهَاۜ  كَذٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللّٰهُ اٰيَاتِه۪ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ

Ohilla lakum laylata assiyamiarrafathu ila nisa-ikum hunna libasunlakum waantum libasun lahunna AAalima Allahuannakum kuntum takhtanoona anfusakum fatabaAAalaykum waAAafa AAankum fal-ana bashiroohunnawabtaghoo ma kataba Allahu lakum wakuloo washraboohatta yatabayyana lakumu alkhaytu al-abyadumina alkhayti al-aswadi mina alfajri thumma atimmoo assiyamaila allayli wala tubashiroohunna waantum AAakifoonafee almasajidi tilka hudoodu Allahi falataqrabooha kathalika yubayyinu Allahu ayatihilinnasi laAAallahum yattaqoon

It is made lawful for you on the night of the fast to go in unto your women. They are a covering for you, and you are a covering for them. God knows that you deceived yourselves, so He turned towards you and pardoned you; so now lie with them and seek what God has prescribed for you. And eat and drink until clear to you be the white thread from the black thread of the dawn. Then complete the fast until night. And lie with them not when you remain in the places of worship. Those are the limits of God, so approach them not. Thus does God make plain His proofs to men, that they might be in prudent fear.

Yas-aloonaka AAani al-ahillati qul hiya mawaqeetulinnasi walhajji walaysa albirrubi-an ta/too albuyoota min thuhooriha walakinnaalbirra mani ittaqa wa/too albuyoota min abwabihawattaqoo Allaha laAAallakum tuflihoon

They ask thee about the phases of the moon. Say thou: “They are measurements of time for the people and the pilgrimage.” And it is not virtue that you approach houses by the backs thereof — but virtue is[...] one who is in prudent fear — but approach houses by the doors thereof; and be in prudent fear of God, that you might be successful.

The inviolable month is for the inviolable month, and the inviolable deeds are just requital: whoso transgressed against you, transgress against him just as he transgressed against you. But be in prudent fear of God, and know that God is with those of prudent fear.

وَاَتِمُّوا الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ لِلّٰهِۜ فَاِنْ اُحْصِرْتُمْ فَمَا اسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ الْهَدْيِۚ وَلَا تَحْلِقُوا رُؤُ۫سَكُمْ حَتّٰى يَبْلُغَ الْهَدْيُ مَحِلَّهُۜ   فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مَر۪يضاً اَوْ بِه۪ٓ  اَذًى مِنْ رَأْسِه۪ فَفِدْيَةٌ مِنْ صِيَامٍ اَوْ صَدَقَةٍ اَوْ نُسُكٍۚ فَاِذَٓا اَمِنْتُمْ۠  فَمَنْ تَمَتَّعَ بِالْعُمْرَةِ اِلَى الْحَجِّ فَمَا اسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ الْهَدْيِۚ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلٰثَةِ اَيَّامٍ فِي الْحَجِّ وَسَبْعَةٍ اِذَا رَجَعْتُمْۜ  تِلْكَ عَشَرَةٌ   كَامِلَةٌۜ  ذٰلِكَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ اَهْلُهُ حَاضِرِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِۜ  وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاعْلَمُٓوا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ شَد۪يدُ الْعِقَابِ۟

Waatimmoo alhajja walAAumratalillahi fa-in ohsirtum fama istaysara minaalhadyi wala tahliqoo ruoosakum hattayablugha alhadyu mahillahu faman kana minkum mareedanaw bihi athan min ra/sihi fafidyatun min siyaminaw sadaqatin aw nusukin fa-itha amintum famantamattaAAa bilAAumrati ila alhajji famaistaysara mina alhadyi faman lam yajid fasiyamuthalathati ayyamin fee alhajji wasabAAatin itharajaAAtum tilka AAasharatun kamilatun thalika limanlam yakun ahluhu hadiree almasjidi alharamiwattaqoo Allaha waAAlamoo anna Allahashadeedu alAAiqab

And complete the pilgrimage and the attendance for God. But if you be straitened, then what is easy of the offering. And shave not your heads until the offering reaches its place of sacrifice. And whoso among you is sick or has a hindrance of the head: the redemption is by fast or charity or penance. And when you are secure, then whoso enjoys the attendance until the pilgrimage, then what is easy of the offering. And whoso has not the means: a fast of three days during the pilgrimage, and seven when you have returned. Those are ten complete. That is for him whose family is not present at the inviolable place of worship. And be in prudent fear of God, and know that God is severe in retribution.

And take provision. But the best provision is prudent fear. And be in prudent fear of Me, O you men of understanding.

Made fair is the life of this world for those who ignore warning; and they deride those who heed warning. But those who are in prudent fear will be above them on the Day of Resurrection. And God gives provision to whom He wills without reckoning.

Wa-itha tallaqtumu annisaafabalaghna ajalahunna faamsikoohunna bimaAAroofin aw sarrihoohunnabimaAAroofin wala tumsikoohunna diraranlitaAAtadoo waman yafAAal thalika faqad thalamanafsahu wala tattakhithoo ayati Allahihuzuwan wathkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykumwama anzala AAalaykum mina alkitabi walhikmatiyaAAithukum bihi wattaqoo Allaha waAAlamooanna Allaha bikulli shay-in AAaleem

And when you divorce women, and they have reached their term, then retain them according to what is fitting or release them according to what is fitting. And retain them not through harm, to transgress; and whoso does that has wronged himself. And take not the proofs of God in mockery; and remember the favour of God upon you, and what He has sent down to you of the Writ and wisdom whereby He admonishes you. And be in prudent fear of God, and know that God knows all things.

Walwalidatu yurdiAAnaawladahunna hawlayni kamilayni liman aradaan yutimma arradaAAata waAAala almawloodilahu rizquhunna wakiswatuhunna bilmaAAroofi latukallafu nafsun illa wusAAaha la tudarrawalidatun biwaladiha wala mawloodun lahubiwaladihi waAAala alwarithi mithlu thalikafa-in arada fisalan AAan taradinminhuma watashawurin fala junahaAAalayhima wa-in aradtum an tastardiAAoo awladakumfala junaha AAalaykum itha sallamtum maataytum bilmaAAroofi wattaqoo AllahawaAAlamoo anna Allaha bima taAAmaloona baseer

And mothers shall suckle their children two complete years, for such as wish to complete the suckling. And upon the father is their provision and their clothing, according to what is fitting. No soul is burdened save to its capacity. A mother shall not be hurt by her child, nor a father by his child. And upon the heir is the like of that. And if they desire weaning by mutual consent and consultation between them, then they do no wrong. And if you desire to seek one to suckle your children, then you do no wrong when you deliver what you have brought according to what is fitting. And be in prudent fear of God, and know that God sees what you do.

Wa-in tallaqtumoohunna min qabli antamassoohunna waqad faradtum lahunna fareedatanfanisfu ma faradtum illa an yaAAfoonaaw yaAAfuwa allathee biyadihi AAuqdatu annikahiwaan taAAfoo aqrabu littaqwa wala tansawooalfadla baynakum inna Allaha bimataAAmaloona baseer

And if you divorce them before you have touched them and you have already appointed for them an obligation, then half of what you appointed unless they forgo it, or he in whose hand is the knot of marriage forgoes it; and that you forgo is nearer to prudent fear. And forget not bounty between you, God sees what you do.

يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُٓوا اِذَا تَدَايَنْتُمْ بِدَيْنٍ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى فَاكْتُبُوهُۜ وَلْيَكْتُبْ بَيْنَكُمْ كَاتِبٌ بِالْعَدْلِۖ وَلَا يَأْبَ كَاتِبٌ اَنْ يَكْتُبَ كَمَا عَلَّمَهُ اللّٰهُ فَلْيَكْتُبْۚ وَلْيُمْلِلِ الَّذ۪ي عَلَيْهِ الْحَقُّ وَلْيَتَّقِ اللّٰهَ رَبَّهُ وَلَا يَبْخَسْ مِنْهُ شَيْـٔاًۜ فَاِنْ كَانَ الَّذ۪ي عَلَيْهِ الْحَقُّ سَف۪يهاً اَوْ ضَع۪يفاً اَوْ لَا يَسْتَط۪يعُ اَنْ يُمِلَّ هُوَ فَلْيُمْلِلْ وَلِيُّهُ بِالْعَدْلِۜ وَاسْتَشْهِدُوا شَه۪يدَيْنِ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْۚ فَاِنْ لَمْ يَكُونَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَرَجُلٌ وَامْرَاَتَانِ مِمَّنْ تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ الشُّهَدَٓاءِ اَنْ تَضِلَّ اِحْدٰيهُمَا فَتُذَكِّرَ اِحْدٰيهُمَا الْاُخْرٰىۜ وَلَا يَأْبَ الشُّهَدَٓاءُ اِذَا مَا دُعُواۜ وَلَا تَسْـَٔمُٓوا اَنْ تَكْتُبُوهُ صَغ۪يراً اَوْ كَب۪يراً اِلٰٓى اَجَلِه۪ۜ ذٰلِكُمْ اَقْسَطُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ وَاَقْوَمُ لِلشَّهَادَةِ وَاَدْنٰٓى اَلَّا تَرْتَابُٓوا اِلَّٓا اَنْ تَكُونَ تِجَارَةً حَاضِرَةً تُد۪يرُونَهَا بَيْنَكُمْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ اَلَّا تَكْتُبُوهَاۜ وَاَشْهِدُٓوا اِذَا تَبَايَعْتُمْۖ وَلَا يُضَٓارَّ  كَاتِبٌ وَلَا شَه۪يدٌۜ وَاِنْ تَفْعَلُوا فَاِنَّهُ فُسُوقٌ بِكُمْۜ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَۜ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ اللّٰهُۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَل۪يمٌ

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooitha tadayantum bidaynin ila ajalin musammanfaktuboohu walyaktub baynakum katibun bilAAadliwala ya/ba katibun an yaktuba kamaAAallamahu Allahu falyaktub walyumlili allatheeAAalayhi alhaqqu walyattaqi Allaha rabbahu walayabkhas minhu shay-an fa-in kana allathee AAalayhialhaqqu safeehan aw daAAeefan aw la yastateeAAuan yumilla huwa falyumlil waliyyuhu bilAAadli wastashhidooshaheedayni min rijalikum fa-in lam yakoonarajulayni farajulun wamraatani mimman tardawnamina ashshuhada-i an tadilla ihdahumafatuthakkira ihdahuma al-okhrawala ya/ba ashshuhadao itha maduAAoo wala tas-amoo an taktuboohu sagheeran awkabeeran ila ajalihi thalikum aqsatu AAindaAllahi waaqwamu lishshahadati waadnaalla tartaboo illa an takoona tijaratanhadiratan tudeeroonaha baynakum falaysa AAalaykumjunahun alla taktubooha waashhidoo ithatabayaAAtum wala yudarra katibun walashaheedun wa-in tafAAaloo fa-innahu fusooqun bikum wattaqooAllaha wayuAAallimukumu Allahu wallahubikulli shay-in AAaleem

O you who heed warning: when you contract a debt together to a stated term: write it down, and let a writer write it down between you justly; and let not a writer refuse to write it down as God has taught him; so let him write, and let the debtor dictate, and let him be in prudent fear of God, his Lord, and diminish nothing thereof. But if the debtor be incompetent, or weak, or unable to dictate himself, then his ally shall dictate justly. And call to witness two witnesses from among your men; but if there be not two men, then a man and two women among those you approve as witnesses, that should one of them err, one of them might remind the other; and let not the witnesses refuse when they are called. And be not weary of writing it, small or great, with its term (that is more just in the sight of God, and more upright for witness, and likelier that there will be no doubt between you) save if it be present trade that you transact among you; then you do no wrong that you write it not down. يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُٓوا اِذَا تَدَايَنْتُمْ بِدَيْنٍ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى فَاكْتُبُوهُۜ وَلْيَكْتُبْ بَيْنَكُمْ كَاتِبٌ بِالْعَدْلِۖ وَلَا يَأْبَ كَاتِبٌ اَنْ يَكْتُبَ كَمَا عَلَّمَهُ اللّٰهُ فَلْيَكْتُبْۚ وَلْيُمْلِلِ الَّذ۪ي عَلَيْهِ الْحَقُّ وَلْيَتَّقِ اللّٰهَ رَبَّهُ وَلَا يَبْخَسْ مِنْهُ شَيْـٔاًۜ فَاِنْ كَانَ الَّذ۪ي عَلَيْهِ الْحَقُّ سَف۪يهاً اَوْ ضَع۪يفاً اَوْ لَا يَسْتَط۪يعُ اَنْ يُمِلَّ هُوَ فَلْيُمْلِلْ وَلِيُّهُ بِالْعَدْلِۜ وَاسْتَشْهِدُوا شَه۪يدَيْنِ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْۚ فَاِنْ لَمْ يَكُونَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَرَجُلٌ وَامْرَاَتَانِ مِمَّنْ تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ الشُّهَدَٓاءِ اَنْ تَضِلَّ اِحْدٰيهُمَا فَتُذَكِّرَ اِحْدٰيهُمَا الْاُخْرٰىۜ وَلَا يَأْبَ الشُّهَدَٓاءُ اِذَا مَا دُعُواۜ وَلَا تَسْـَٔمُٓوا اَنْ تَكْتُبُوهُ صَغ۪يراً اَوْ كَب۪يراً اِلٰٓى اَجَلِه۪ۜ ذٰلِكُمْ اَقْسَطُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ وَاَقْوَمُ لِلشَّهَادَةِ وَاَدْنٰٓى اَلَّا تَرْتَابُٓوا اِلَّٓا اَنْ تَكُونَ تِجَارَةً حَاضِرَةً تُد۪يرُونَهَا بَيْنَكُمْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ اَلَّا تَكْتُبُوهَاۜ وَاَشْهِدُٓوا اِذَا تَبَايَعْتُمْۖ وَلَا يُضَٓارَّ  كَاتِبٌ وَلَا شَه۪يدٌۜ وَاِنْ تَفْعَلُوا فَاِنَّهُ فُسُوقٌ بِكُمْۜ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَۜ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ اللّٰهُۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَل۪يمٌ

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooitha tadayantum bidaynin ila ajalin musammanfaktuboohu walyaktub baynakum katibun bilAAadliwala ya/ba katibun an yaktuba kamaAAallamahu Allahu falyaktub walyumlili allatheeAAalayhi alhaqqu walyattaqi Allaha rabbahu walayabkhas minhu shay-an fa-in kana allathee AAalayhialhaqqu safeehan aw daAAeefan aw la yastateeAAuan yumilla huwa falyumlil waliyyuhu bilAAadli wastashhidooshaheedayni min rijalikum fa-in lam yakoonarajulayni farajulun wamraatani mimman tardawnamina ashshuhada-i an tadilla ihdahumafatuthakkira ihdahuma al-okhrawala ya/ba ashshuhadao itha maduAAoo wala tas-amoo an taktuboohu sagheeran awkabeeran ila ajalihi thalikum aqsatu AAindaAllahi waaqwamu lishshahadati waadnaalla tartaboo illa an takoona tijaratanhadiratan tudeeroonaha baynakum falaysa AAalaykumjunahun alla taktubooha waashhidoo ithatabayaAAtum wala yudarra katibun walashaheedun wa-in tafAAaloo fa-innahu fusooqun bikum wattaqooAllaha wayuAAallimukumu Allahu wallahubikulli shay-in AAaleem

O you who heed warning: when you contract a debt together to a stated term: write it down, and let a writer write it down between you justly; and let not a writer refuse to write it down as God has taught him; so let him write, and let the debtor dictate, and let him be in prudent fear of God, his Lord, and diminish nothing thereof. But if the debtor be incompetent, or weak, or unable to dictate himself, then his ally shall dictate justly. And call to witness two witnesses from among your men; but if there be not two men, then a man and two women among those you approve as witnesses, that should one of them err, one of them might remind the other; and let not the witnesses refuse when they are called. And be not weary of writing it, small or great, with its term (that is more just in the sight of God, and more upright for witness, and likelier that there will be no doubt between you) save if it be present trade that you transact among you; then you do no wrong that you write it not down. Wa-in kuntum AAala safarin walamtajidoo katiban farihanun maqboodatun fa-inamina baAAdukum baAAdan falyu-addiallatheei/tumina amanatahu walyattaqi Allaha rabbahuwala taktumoo ashshahadata waman yaktumhafa-innahu athimun qalbuhu wallahu bimataAAmaloona AAaleem

And if you are on a journey, and find not a writer, then: a pledge in hand. But if one of you trusts another, then let him who is trusted discharge his trust, and let him be in prudent fear of God, his Lord. And conceal not the witness; and he who conceals it, his heart is sinful; and God knows what you do.

Say thou: “Shall I inform you of better than that? For those who are in prudent fear, with their Lord are gardens beneath which rivers flow, they abiding eternally therein, and purified spouses, and approval from God”; and God sees the servants,

Let not the believers take as allies the false claimers of guidance rather than believers; and whoso does that is not of God in anything — save that you be in prudent fear of them, as a precaution. And God warns you of Himself; and to God is the journey’s end.

If good touches you, it vexes them; and if evil befalls you, they exult thereat. But if you are patient and in prudent fear, their plan will not harm you at all; God encompasses what they do.

Ma kana Allahu liyatharaalmu/mineena AAala ma antum AAalayhi hattayameeza alkhabeetha mina attayyibi wama kanaAllahu liyutliAAakum AAala alghaybi walakinnaAllaha yajtabee min rusulihi man yashao faaminoobillahi warusulihi wa-in tu/minoo watattaqoofalakum ajrun AAatheem

God will not leave the believers in that which you are in until He distinguishes the bad from the good. And God will not apprise you of the Unseen; but God chooses of His messengers whom He wills, so believe in God and His messengers; and if you believe and are in prudent fear, for you is a great reward.

Latublawunna fee amwalikumwaanfusikum walatasmaAAunna mina allatheena ootoo alkitabamin qablikum wamina allatheena ashrakoo athankatheeran wa-in tasbiroo watattaqoo fa-inna thalikamin AAazmi al-omoor

You will be tried in your wealth and in yourselves. And you will hear from those given the Writ before you, and from the idolaters, much hindrance. But if you are patient and in prudent fear: that is among the resolution of affairs.

Those who remember God, standing and sitting and on their sides, and reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth: “Our Lord: Thou createdst not this to no purpose. Glory be to Thee! And protect Thou us from the punishment of the Fire!

But those who are in prudent fear of their Lord: they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, they abiding eternally therein, as a welcome from God; and what is with God is better for the virtuous.

O mankind: be in prudent fear of your Lord who created you from one soul; and created from it its mate, and scattered from them many men and women; and be in prudent fear of God through whom, and through kinship, you ask one of another; God is over you, watching.

Alam tara ila allatheena qeelalahum kuffoo aydiyakum waaqeemoo assalatawaatoo azzakata falamma kutibaAAalayhimu alqitalu itha fareequn minhum yakhshawnaannasa kakhashyati Allahi aw ashaddakhashyatan waqaloo rabbana lima katabta AAalaynaalqitala lawla akhkhartana ila ajalinqareebin qul mataAAu addunya qaleelun wal-akhiratukhayrun limani ittaqa wala tuthlamoonafateela

Hast thou not considered those to whom it was said: “Restrain your hands; and uphold the duty, and render the purity,” but when fighting is prescribed for them, then a faction among them fears men like the fear of God, or a stronger fear? And they said: “Our Lord: why hast Thou prescribed fighting for us? Oh, that Thou wouldst but delay us a little while!” Say thou: “Little is the enjoyment of the World”; and the Hereafter is better for him who is in prudent fear; and you will not be wronged a hair upon a date-stone.

Wa-ini imraatun khafat min baAAlihanushoozan aw iAAradan fala junaha AAalayhimaan yusliha baynahuma sulhan wassulhukhayrun waohdirati al-anfusu ashshuhhawa-in tuhsinoo watattaqoo fa-inna Allaha kanabima taAAmaloona khabeera

But if a woman fears contempt or aversion from her husband, they do no wrong that they do right between themselves in peace; and making right is better; and avarice is present in the souls. But if you do good and are in prudent fear, then is God aware of what you do.

Walan tastateeAAoo an taAAdiloobayna annisa-i walaw harastum falatameeloo kulla almayli fatatharooha kalmuAAallaqatiwa-in tuslihoo watattaqoo fa-inna Allaha kanaghafooran raheema

And you will not be able to deal equally between wives, though you be desirous; but turn not entirely away leaving one as if suspended. And if you do right and are in prudent fear, God is forgiving and merciful.

Walillahi ma fee assamawatiwama fee al-ardi walaqad wassaynaallatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum wa-iyyakumani ittaqoo Allaha wa-in takfuroo fa-inna lillahi mafee assamawati wama fee al-ardiwakana Allahu ghaniyyan hameeda

And to God belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; and We have enjoined those given the Writ before you, and you yourselves, that you be in prudent fear of God. And if you deny, then to God belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; and God is free from need and praiseworthy.

يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تُحِلُّوا شَعَٓائِرَ اللّٰهِ وَلَا الشَّهْرَ الْحَرَامَ وَلَا الْهَدْيَ وَلَا الْقَلَٓائِدَ وَلَٓا آٰمّ۪ينَ الْبَيْتَ الْحَرَامَ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلاً مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَرِضْوَاناًۜ وَاِذَا حَلَلْتُمْ فَاصْطَادُواۜ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَاٰنُ قَوْمٍ اَنْ صَدُّوكُمْ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ اَنْ تَعْتَدُواۢ وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوٰىۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْاِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ شَد۪يدُ الْعِقَابِ

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tuhilloo shaAAa-ira Allahi walaashshahra alharama wala alhadya walaalqala-ida wala ammeena albayta alharamayabtaghoona fadlan min rabbihim waridwananwa-itha halaltum fastadoo walayajrimannakum shanaanu qawmin an saddookum AAanialmasjidi alharami an taAAtadoo wataAAawanooAAala albirri wattaqwa wala taAAawanooAAala al-ithmi walAAudwani wattaqooAllaha inna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqab

O you who heed warning: violate not the tokens of God, nor the inviolable month, nor the offering, nor the necklaces, nor the visitors to the inviolable house seeking the favour of their Lord and approval. And when you are permitted, then you may hunt. And let not hatred of a people who turned you away from the inviolable place of worship move you to commit injustice. And assist one another to virtue and prudent fear; and assist not one another in sin and enmity. And be in prudent fear of God; God is severe in retribution.

Yas-aloonaka matha ohilla lahumqul ohilla lakumu attayyibatu wamaAAallamtum mina aljawarihi mukallibeenatuAAallimoonahunna mimma AAallamakumu Allahufakuloo mimma amsakna AAalaykum wathkurooisma Allahi AAalayhi wattaqoo Allaha innaAllaha sareeAAu alhisab

They ask thee what is made lawful for them. Say thou: “Made lawful for you are good things; and what you have trained of animals of prey as trainers teaching them of what God taught you — eat of what they catch for you, and remember the name of God over it. And be in prudent fear of God; God is swift in reckoning.”

Wathkuroo niAAmata AllahiAAalaykum wameethaqahu allathee wathaqakumbihi ith qultum samiAAna waataAAna wattaqooAllaha inna Allaha AAaleemun bithati assudoor

And remember the favour of God upon you, and His agreement which He agreed with you, when you said: “We hear and we obey.” And be in prudent fear of God; God knows what is in the breasts.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanookoonoo qawwameena lillahi shuhadaa bilqistiwala yajrimannakum shanaanu qawmin AAala allataAAdiloo iAAdiloo huwa aqrabu littaqwa wattaqooAllaha inna Allaha khabeerun bima taAAmaloon

O you who heed warning: stand firm for God, witnesses with equity, and let not hatred of a people move you, that you act not equitably; do justice — that is nearer to prudent fear. And be in prudent fear of God; God is aware of what you do.

O you who heed warning: stand firm for God, witnesses with equity, and let not hatred of a people move you, that you act not equitably; do justice — that is nearer to prudent fear. And be in prudent fear of God; God is aware of what you do.

O you who heed warning: remember the favour of God upon you when a people purposed to stretch out their hands against you, and He restrained their hands from you; and be in prudent fear of God; and in God then let the believers place their trust.

And recite thou to them the report of the two sons of Adam with the truth, when they offered an offering, and it was accepted from the one of them and not accepted from the other: — he said: “I will kill thee.” Said he: “God only accepts from those of prudent fear.

And We sent Jesus, son of Mary in their footsteps confirming what was before him of the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel wherein was guidance and light, both confirming what was before him of the Torah and as guidance and admonition for those of prudent fear.

That will tend to them bearing witness properly, or fearing that oaths will be taken after their oaths. And be in prudent fear of God, and listen; and God guides not the perfidious people.

When the disciples said: “O Jesus, son of Mary: is thy Lord able to send down upon us a table spread from the sky?” he said: “Be in prudent fear of God, if you be believers.”

O children of Adam: We have sent down upon you raiment to hide your shame, and as adornment; but the raiment of prudent fear, that is best. That is among the proofs of God, that they might take heed.

O children of Adam: if there come to you messengers from among you, relating to you My proofs, then whoso is in prudent fear and makes right — no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve.

And had the people of the cities believed and been in prudent fear, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied, so We seized them for what they earned.

And Moses said to his people: “Seek help in God, and be patient; the earth belongs to God; He causes to inherit it whom He wills among his servants. And the final outcome is for those of prudent fear.”
