O you who heed warning: make not your charity vain through condescension and hindrance, like one who spends his wealth to be seen of men and believes not in God and the Last Day. And his likeness is as the likeness of a rock whereon is dust: a downpour fell upon it leaving it bare; they possess nothing from what they have earned; and God guides not the people of the false claimers of guidance.

O you who heed warning: kill no game when you are forbidden; and whoso of you kills it intentionally: the payment is the like of what he killed from grazing livestock. Let judge it two just men from among you by an offering reaching the kaʿba, or expiation: feeding needy persons or the equivalent of that in fasting, that he might taste the evil consequence of his deed. God has pardoned what is past; but whoso returns, God will take vengeance on him; and God is exalted in might and vengeful.
