Wamathalu allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahumuibtighaa mardati Allahi watathbeetan minanfusihim kamathali jannatin birabwatin asabaha wabilunfaatat okulaha diAAfayni fa-in lam yusibhawabilun fatallun wallahu bimataAAmaloona baseer

And the likeness of those who spend their wealth seeking the pleasure of God and as a confirmation of their souls, is as the likeness of a garden on high ground: a downpour fell upon it, and it yielded double fruit; and if a downpour falls not upon it, then fine rain; and God sees what you do.

And their word was only that they said: “Our Lord: forgive Thou us our transgressions, and our excess in our affair, and make Thou firm our feet; and help Thou us against the people of the false claimers of guidance.”

Walaw anna katabna AAalayhimani oqtuloo anfusakum awi okhrujoo min diyarikum mafaAAaloohu illa qaleelun minhum walaw annahum faAAaloo mayooAAathoona bihi lakana khayran lahumwaashadda tathbeeta

And had We prescribed for them: “Kill yourselves,” or: “Go forth from your homes,” there would have done it only a few among them; and had they done what they were exhorted, it would have been better for them and a stronger confirmation,

Ith yughashsheekumu annuAAasaamanatan minhu wayunazzilu AAalaykum mina assama-imaan liyutahhirakum bihi wayuthhiba AAankumrijza ashshaytani waliyarbita AAalaquloobikum wayuthabbita bihi al-aqdam

When He made slumber overcome you as security from Him, and sent down upon you water from the sky that He might purify you thereby, and to remove from you the scourge of the satan, and to fortify your hearts, and make firm thereby your feet.

Ith yoohee rabbuka ilaalmala-ikati annee maAAakum fathabbitoo allatheena amanoosaolqee fee quloobi allatheena kafaroo arruAAba fadriboofawqa al-aAAnaqi wadriboo minhum kulla banan

When thy Lord instructed the angels: “I am with you; so make firm those who heed warning. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who ignore warning, so strike above the necks, and strike from them every fingertip!”

Wa-ith yamkuru bika allatheenakafaroo liyuthbitooka aw yaqtulooka aw yukhrijooka wayamkuroonawayamkuru Allahu wallahu khayru almakireen

And when those who ignore warning schemed against thee, to restrain thee, or to kill thee, or to drive thee out; and they scheme, and God schemes, and God is the best of schemers.

And all We relate to thee from the reports of the messengers is that whereby We make firm thy heart. And there has come to thee in this the truth, and an admonition, and a reminder for the believers.

Hast thou not considered how God struck a similitude? A good word is like a good tree: its root firm, and its branches in the sky.

Yuthabbitu Allahu allatheena amanoobilqawli aththabiti fee alhayatiaddunya wafee al-akhirati wayudilluAllahu aththalimeenawayafAAalu Allahu ma yasha/

God strengthens those who heed warning with a firm word in the life of this world and in the Hereafter. And God sends astray the wrongdoers; and God does what He wills.

Wala tattakhithoo aymanakumdakhalan baynakum fatazilla qadamun baAAda thubootiha watathooqooassoo-a bima sadadtum AAan sabeeli Allahiwalakum AAathabun AAatheem

And take not your oaths as a deception between you lest a foot slip after its being firm and you taste evil for turning away from the path of God, and for you there be a great punishment.

Say thou: “The Spirit of Holiness brought it down from thy Lord in truth, that it might strengthen those who heed warning, and as guidance and glad tidings for those submitting.”

And those who ignore warning say: “Oh, that the Qur’an were but sent down upon him all at once!” Thus — that We might strengthen thy heart thereby; and We have recited it distinctly.
