Surah An-Nisa, Verse 11 - **Form in this verse:** تَرَكَ ۖ — taraka · "he left" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, singular · past tense يُوص۪يكُمُ اللّٰهُ ف۪ٓي اَوْلَادِكُمْ لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الْاُنْثَيَيْنِۚ فَاِنْ كُنَّ نِسَٓاءً فَوْقَ اثْنَتَيْنِ فَلَهُنَّ ثُلُثَا مَا تَرَكَۚ وَاِنْ كَانَتْ وَاحِدَةً فَلَهَا النِّصْفُۜ وَلِاَبَوَيْهِ لِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا السُّدُسُ مِمَّا تَرَكَ اِنْ كَانَ لَهُ وَلَدٌۚ فَاِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلَدٌ وَوَرِثَهُٓ اَبَوَاهُ فَلِاُمِّهِ الثُّلُثُۚ فَاِنْ كَانَ لَهُٓ اِخْوَةٌ فَلِاُمِّهِ السُّدُسُ مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوص۪ي بِهَٓا اَوْ دَيْنٍۜ اٰبَٓاؤُ۬كُمْ وَاَبْنَٓاؤُ۬كُمْۚ لَا تَدْرُونَ اَيُّهُمْ اَقْرَبُ لَكُمْ نَفْعاًۚ فَر۪يضَةً مِنَ اللّٰهِۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَل۪يماً حَك۪يماً Yooseekumu Allahu fee awladikumliththakari mithlu haththialonthayayni fa-in kunna nisaan fawqa ithnatayni falahunnathulutha ma taraka wa-in kanat wahidatanfalaha annisfu wali-abawayhi likulli wahidinminhuma assudusu mimma taraka in kanalahu waladun fa-in lam yakun lahu waladun wawarithahu abawahufali-ommihi aththuluthu fa-in kana lahu ikhwatunfali-ommihi assudusu min baAAdi wasiyyatin yooseebiha aw daynin abaokum waabnaokum latadroona ayyuhum aqrabu lakum nafAAan fareedatan mina Allahiinna Allaha kana AAaleeman hakeema God charges you concerning your children: for the male is the like of the portion of two females; but if there are women above two, then for them is two-thirds of what he left; and if she is one, then for her is half; and for his parents: for each one of them is one-sixth of what he left if he has a child. Then if he has not a child and there inherit from him his parents, for his mother is one-third; but if he has brothers or sisters: for his mother is one-sixth, after a bequest he has made, or debt — your parents and your children: you know not which of them is nearer to you in benefit — as an obligation from God; God is knowing and wise. _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-11.md_ ### 4. And for them: one-fourth of what you left, if you have not a child; but if you have a child: for them is one-eighth of what you left, after a bequest you have made, or debt. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 12 - **Form in this verse:** تَرَكْتُم ۚ — taraktum · "you left" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · past tense وَلَكُمْ نِصْفُ مَا تَرَكَ اَزْوَاجُكُمْ اِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُنَّ وَلَدٌۚ فَاِنْ كَانَ لَهُنَّ وَلَدٌ فَلَكُمُ الرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكْنَ مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوص۪ينَ بِهَٓا اَوْ دَيْنٍۜ وَلَهُنَّ الرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكْتُمْ اِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَكُمْ وَلَدٌۚ فَاِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ وَلَدٌ فَلَهُنَّ الثُّمُنُ مِمَّا تَرَكْتُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ تُوصُونَ بِهَٓا اَوْ دَيْنٍۜ وَاِنْ كَانَ رَجُلٌ يُورَثُ كَلَالَةً اَوِ امْرَاَةٌ وَلَهُٓ اَخٌ اَوْ اُخْتٌ فَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا السُّدُسُۚ فَاِنْ كَانُٓوا اَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ فَهُمْ شُرَكَٓاءُ فِي الثُّلُثِ مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصٰى بِهَٓا اَوْ دَيْنٍۙ غَيْرَ مُضَٓارٍّۚ وَصِيَّةً مِنَ اللّٰهِۜ وَاللّٰهُ عَل۪يمٌ حَل۪يمٌۜ Walakum nisfu ma taraka azwajukumin lam yakun lahunna waladun fa-in kana lahunna waladunfalakumu arrubuAAu mimma tarakna min baAAdi wasiyyatinyooseena biha aw daynin walahunna arrubuAAumimma taraktum in lam yakun lakum waladun fa-in kanalakum waladun falahunna aththumunu mimma taraktummin baAAdi wasiyyatin toosoona biha awdaynin wa-in kana rajulun yoorathu kalalatan awiimraatun walahu akhun aw okhtun falikulli wahidin minhumaassudusu fa-in kanoo akthara min thalikafahum shurakao fee aththuluthi min baAAdi wasiyyatinyoosa biha aw daynin ghayra mudarrin wasiyyatanmina Allahi wallahu AAaleemun haleem And for you is half of what your wives left if they have not a child; but if they have a child, then for you is one-fourth of what they left, after a bequest they have made, or debt. And for them: one-fourth of what you left, if you have not a child; but if you have a child: for them is one-eighth of what you left, after a bequest you have made, or debt. And if a man or a woman be inherited with no immediate heir but has a brother or sister, for each of them is one-sixth; but if they are more than that, then are they partners in one-third, after a bequest he has made, or debt, without harm, as a bequest from God; and God is knowing and clement. _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-12.md_ ### 4. Say thou: “God gives you the ruling concerning those without an immediate heir: if a man perishes without a child but has a sister: for her is half of what he left, and he inherits from her if she has not a child. But if there are two females: for them is two-thirds of what he left. Surah Al-A'raf, Verse 176 - **Form in this verse:** تَتْرُكْهُ — tatruk'hu · "if you leave him" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, singular · present tense وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَاهُ بِهَا وَلٰكِنَّهُٓ اَخْلَدَ اِلَى الْاَرْضِ وَاتَّـبَعَ هَوٰيهُۚ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِۚ اِنْ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ اَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَثْۜ ذٰلِكَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذ۪ينَ كَذَّبُوا بِاٰيَاتِنَاۚ فَاقْصُصِ الْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ Walaw shi/na larafaAAnahu bihawalakinnahu akhlada ila al-ardi wattabaAAahawahu famathaluhu kamathali alkalbi in tahmilAAalayhi yalhath aw tatruk-hu yalhath thalika mathalualqawmi allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatinafaqsusi alqasasa laAAallahumyatafakkaroon And had We willed, We would have raised him thereby; but he clung to the earth and followed his vain desire. So his likeness is as the likeness of a dog: if thou win him over, he pants; or if thou leave him, he pants. Surah At-Tawbah, Verse 16 - **Form in this verse:** تُتْرَكُوا۟ — tut'rakū · "you would be left" - **Grammar:** verb · passive · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense اَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ اَنْ تُتْرَكُوا وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللّٰهُ الَّذ۪ينَ جَاهَدُوا مِنْكُمْ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِ وَلَا رَسُولِه۪ وَلَا الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ وَل۪يجَةًۜ وَاللّٰهُ خَب۪يرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ۟ Am hasibtum an tutrakoo walammayaAAlami Allahu allatheena jahadoo minkumwalam yattakhithoo min dooni Allahi walarasoolihi wala almu/mineena waleejatan wallahukhabeerun bima taAAmaloon If you think that you will be left when God knows not those among you who have striven, and have taken — besides God, and His messenger, and the believers — no confidant[...]. Surah Hud, Verse 12 - **Form in this verse:** تَارِكٌۢ — tārikun · "(may) give up" - **Grammar:** noun · active · masculine · nominative case · indefinite فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحٰٓى اِلَيْكَ وَضَٓائِقٌ بِه۪ صَدْرُكَ اَنْ يَقُولُوا لَوْلَٓا اُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنْزٌ اَوْ جَٓاءَ مَعَهُ مَلَكٌۜ اِنَّـمَٓا اَنْتَ نَذ۪يرٌۜ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَك۪يلٌۜ FalaAAallaka tarikun baAAda mayooha ilayka wada-iqun bihi sadruka anyaqooloo lawla onzila AAalayhi kanzun aw jaamaAAahu malakun innama anta natheerun wallahuAAala kulli shay-in wakeel Then thou mightest leave some of what is revealed to thee, and thy breast be straitened, that they say: “Oh, that a treasure had but been sent down upon him, or an angel had but come with him!” Thou art only a warner; and God is guardian over all things. _https://quran.so/surah-hud/verse-12.md_ ### 11. Surah Yusuf, Verse 37 - **Form in this verse:** تَرَكْتُ — taraktu · "[I] abandon" - **Grammar:** verb · 1st person, singular · past tense قَالَ لَا يَأْت۪يكُمَا طَعَامٌ تُرْزَقَانِه۪ٓ اِلَّا نَبَّأْتُكُمَا بِتَأْو۪يلِه۪ قَبْلَ اَنْ يَأْتِيَكُمَاۜ ذٰلِكُمَا مِمَّا عَلَّمَن۪ي رَبّ۪يۜ اِنّ۪ي تَرَكْتُ مِلَّةَ قَوْمٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّٰهِ وَهُمْ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَۙ Qala la ya/teekuma taAAamunturzaqanihi illa nabba/tukuma bita/weelihiqabla an ya/tiyakuma thalikuma mimmaAAallamanee rabbee innee taraktu millata qawmin layu/minoona billahi wahum bil-akhiratihum kafiroon Said he: “There will not come to you food wherewith you are provided save that I will have informed you of its interpretation before it comes to you. Surah An-Nahl, Verse 61 - **Form in this verse:** تَرَكَ — taraka · "He (would) have left" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, singular · past tense وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللّٰهُ النَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِمْ مَا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِنْ دَٓابَّةٍ وَلٰكِنْ يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُسَمًّىۚ فَاِذَا جَٓاءَ اَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ Walaw yu-akhithu Allahuannasa bithulmihim ma tarakaAAalayha min dabbatin walakin yu-akhkhiruhumila ajalin musamman fa-itha jaa ajaluhum layasta/khiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoon And were God to take men to task for their injustice, He would not leave upon it any creature; but He delays them to a stated term. Surah Al-Mu'minun, Verse 100 - **Form in this verse:** تَرَكْتُ ۚ — taraktu · "I left behind" - **Grammar:** verb · 1st person, singular · past tense لَعَلّ۪ٓي اَعْمَلُ صَالِحاً ف۪يمَا تَرَكْتُ كَلَّاۜ اِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَٓائِلُهَاۜ وَمِنْ وَرَٓائِهِمْ بَرْزَخٌ اِلٰى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ LaAAallee aAAmalu salihanfeema taraktu kalla innaha kalimatun huwa qa-iluhawamin wara-ihim barzakhun ila yawmi yubAAathoon “That I might work righteousness in what I left behind.” No, indeed! Surah Fatir, Verse 45 - **Form in this verse:** تَرَكَ — taraka · "He would leave" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, singular · past tense وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللّٰهُ النَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوا مَا تَرَكَ عَلٰى ظَهْرِهَا مِنْ دَٓابَّةٍ وَلٰكِنْ يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُسَمًّىۚ فَاِذَا جَٓاءَ اَجَلُهُمْ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِعِبَادِه۪ بَص۪يراً Walaw yu-akhithu Allahuannasa bima kasaboo ma taraka AAalathahriha min dabbatin walakinyu-akhkhiruhum ila ajalin musamman fa-itha jaaajaluhum fa-inna Allaha kana biAAibadihi baseera And were God to take men for what they earn, He would not leave any creature upon its surface.
