- **Meaning:** To ride, embark, mount, be carried, go on board of a ship, voyage on (the sea), walk on (a road), commit (a fault). Rakbun - caravan. Rukban (pl. of rakib) - one who rides, mounted. Rikab - camels. Rakub - use of a beast for riding. Mutarakibun - laying in heaps, ridden on one another, close growing, cluster over clustered, layer upon layer. Tarkabunna - to pass on, rise, ascend.

Wahuwa allathee anzala mina assama-imaan faakhrajna bihi nabata kulli shay-infaakhrajna minhu khadiran nukhriju minhu habbanmutarakiban wamina annakhli min talAAihaqinwanun daniyatun wajannatin min aAAnabinwazzaytoona warrummana mushtabihanwaghayra mutashabihin onthuroo ilathamarihi itha athmara wayanAAihi inna fee thalikumlaayatin liqawmin yu/minoon

And He it is that sends down from the sky water; and We bring forth thereby the growth of all things; and We bring forth from it greenery, bringing forth from it grain heaped up; and from the date-palm, from its spathes, bunches of dates within reach; and gardens of grapevines and olives and pomegranates, similar yet different. Look upon the fruit thereof when it bears fruit and it ripens: in that are proofs for people who believe.

### 8. Surah Al-Anfal, Verse 42

Ith antum bilAAudwati addunyawahum bilAAudwati alquswa warrakbuasfala minkum walaw tawaAAadtum lakhtalaftum feealmeeAAadi walakin liyaqdiya Allahuamran kana mafAAoolan liyahlika man halaka AAan bayyinatinwayahya man hayya AAan bayyinatin wa-innaAllaha lasameeAAun AAaleem

When you were on the near bank, and they were on the far bank, and the caravan was lower than you. And had you agreed to meet, you would have failed in the appointment. But that God might conclude a matter that was done: — that there might perish he who perished upon clear evidence, and that there might live he who lived upon clear evidence; and God is hearing and knowing.

And it sailed with them amid waves like mountains; and Noah called to his son: — and he was set apart — “O my son: embark thou with us, and be thou not with the false claimers of guidance.”

So they went forth. When they had embarked on the boat, he made a hole therein. He said: “Hast thou made a hole therein to drown its people? Thou hast done a grievous thing.”

### 29. Surah Al-'Ankabut, Verse 65

Then when they embark on the ship, they call to God, sincere to Him in doctrine; but when He delivers them to the land, then they ascribe a partnership,

Wama afaa Allahu AAalarasoolihi minhum fama awjaftum AAalayhi min khaylin walarikabin walakinna Allaha yusalliturusulahu AAala man yashao wallahuAAala kulli shay-in qadeer

And what God gave in spoil to His messenger from them: you spurred not for it any horse or camel, but God gives His messengers authority over whom He wills; and God is over all things powerful.
