Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 30 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلرِّجْسَ — l-rij'sa · "the abomination" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case ذٰلِكَۗ وَمَنْ يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَاتِ اللّٰهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ عِنْدَ رَبِّه۪ۜ وَاُحِلَّتْ لَكُمُ الْاَنْعَامُ اِلَّا مَا يُتْلٰى عَلَيْكُمْ فَاجْتَنِبُوا الرِّجْسَ مِنَ الْاَوْثَانِ وَاجْتَنِبُوا قَوْلَ الزُّورِۙ Thalika waman yuAAaththimhurumati Allahi fahuwa khayrun lahu AAindarabbihi waohillat lakumu al-anAAamu illa mayutla AAalaykum fajtaniboo arrijsa minaal-awthani wajtaniboo qawla azzoor That[...]. And whoso honours the sacred things of God, it is better for him in the sight of his Lord. And the cattle are lawful to you save that recited to you. And avoid the abomination of idols. Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 33 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلرِّجْسَ — l-rij'sa · "the impurity" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case وَقَرْنَ ف۪ي بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْاُو۫لٰى وَاَقِمْنَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰت۪ينَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَاَطِعْنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُولَهُۜ اِنَّمَا يُر۪يدُ اللّٰهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ اَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْه۪يراًۚ Waqarna fee buyootikunna walatabarrajna tabarruja aljahiliyyati al-oola waaqimnaassalata waateena azzakatawaatiAAna Allaha warasoolahu innama yureeduAllahu liyuthhiba AAankumu arrijsa ahlaalbayti wayutahhirakum tatheera And stay within your houses; and display not yourselves with the display of the former time of ignorance; and uphold the duty and render the purity, and obey God and His messenger.
