Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooinnama alkhamru walmaysiru wal-ansabuwal-azlamu rijsun min AAamali ashshaytanifajtaniboohu laAAallakum tuflihoon

O you who heed warning: wine, and games of chance, and altars, and divining arrows are an abomination of the work of the satan; so avoid it, that you might be successful.

فَمَنْ يُرِدِ اللّٰهُ اَنْ يَهْدِيَهُ يَشْرَحْ صَدْرَهُ لِلْاِسْلَامِۚ وَمَنْ يُرِدْ اَنْ يُضِلَّهُ يَجْعَلْ صَدْرَهُ ضَيِّقاً حَرَجاً كَاَنَّمَا يَصَّعَّدُ فِي السَّمَٓاءِۜ   كَذٰلِكَ يَجْعَلُ اللّٰهُ الرِّجْسَ عَلَى الَّذ۪ينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Faman yuridi Allahu an yahdiyahuyashrah sadrahu lil-islami waman yurid an yudillahuyajAAal sadrahu dayyiqan harajan kaannamayassaAAAAadu fee assama-i kathalikayajAAalu Allahu arrijsa AAala allatheenala yu/minoon

And whom God wills to guide, He expands his breast towards submission; and whom He wills to lead astray, He makes his breast constricted, distressed, as if he were ascending into the sky; thus does God appoint abomination for those who do not believe.

قُلْ لَٓا اَجِدُ ف۪ي مَٓا اُو۫حِيَ اِلَيَّ مُحَرَّماً عَلٰى طَاعِمٍ يَطْعَمُهُٓ اِلَّٓا اَنْ يَكُونَ مَيْتَةً اَوْ دَماً مَسْفُوحاً اَوْ لَحْمَ خِنْز۪يرٍ فَاِنَّهُ رِجْسٌ اَوْ فِسْقاً اُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللّٰهِ بِه۪ۚ فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَح۪يمٌ

Qul la ajidu feema oohiyailayya muharraman AAala taAAimin yatAAamuhuilla an yakoona maytatan aw daman masfoohan aw lahmakhinzeerin fa-innahu rijsun aw fisqan ohilla lighayri Allahibihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadinfa-inna rabbaka ghafoorun raheem

Say thou: “I find not in what has been revealed to me what is unlawful to one who would eat it save it be carrion, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine — and it is an abomination — or perfidy dedicated to other than God”; but whoso is forced, neither desiring nor transgressing: thy Lord is forgiving and merciful.

قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌ وَغَضَبٌۜ اَتُجَادِلُونَن۪ي ف۪ٓي اَسْمَٓاءٍ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَٓا اَنْتُمْ وَاٰبَٓاؤُ۬كُمْ مَا نَزَّلَ اللّٰهُ بِهَا مِنْ سُلْطَانٍۜ فَانْتَظِرُٓوا اِنّ۪ي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُنْتَظِر۪ينَ

Qala qad waqaAAa AAalaykum minrabbikum rijsun waghadabun atujadiloonanee fee asma-insammaytumooha antum waabaokum manazzala Allahu biha min sultanin fantathirooinnee maAAakum mina almuntathireen

He said: “There have come upon you from your Lord abomination and wrath; dispute you with me concerning names which you have named, you and your fathers? God sent not down for these any authority. Then wait — I am with you waiting.”

سَيَحْلِفُونَ بِاللّٰهِ لَكُمْ اِذَا انْقَلَبْتُمْ اِلَيْهِمْ لِتُعْرِضُوا عَنْهُمْۜ فَاَعْرِضُوا عَنْهُمْۜ اِنَّهُمْ رِجْسٌۘ وَمَأْوٰيهُمْ جَهَنَّمُۚ جَزَٓاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

Sayahlifoona billahilakum itha inqalabtum ilayhim lituAAridoo AAanhumfaaAAridoo AAanhum innahum rijsun wama/wahumjahannamu jazaan bima kanoo yaksiboon

They will swear by God to you when you return to them, that you might let them be. So let them be, for they are an abomination, and their shelter is Gehenna; a reward for what they earned.

And it is for a soul to believe only by the leave of God; and He appoints abomination for those who do not reason.

### 22. Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 30

ذٰلِكَۗ وَمَنْ يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَاتِ اللّٰهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ عِنْدَ رَبِّه۪ۜ وَاُحِلَّتْ لَكُمُ الْاَنْعَامُ اِلَّا مَا يُتْلٰى عَلَيْكُمْ فَاجْتَنِبُوا الرِّجْسَ مِنَ الْاَوْثَانِ وَاجْتَنِبُوا قَوْلَ الزُّورِۙ

Thalika waman yuAAaththimhurumati Allahi fahuwa khayrun lahu AAindarabbihi waohillat lakumu al-anAAamu illa mayutla AAalaykum fajtaniboo arrijsa minaal-awthani wajtaniboo qawla azzoor

That[...]. And whoso honours the sacred things of God, it is better for him in the sight of his Lord. And the cattle are lawful to you save that recited to you. And avoid the abomination of idols. And avoid false speech,

### 33. Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 33

وَقَرْنَ ف۪ي بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْاُو۫لٰى وَاَقِمْنَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰت۪ينَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَاَطِعْنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُولَهُۜ اِنَّمَا يُر۪يدُ اللّٰهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ اَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْه۪يراًۚ

Waqarna fee buyootikunna walatabarrajna tabarruja aljahiliyyati al-oola waaqimnaassalata waateena azzakatawaatiAAna Allaha warasoolahu innama yureeduAllahu liyuthhiba AAankumu arrijsa ahlaalbayti wayutahhirakum tatheera

And stay within your houses; and display not yourselves with the display of the former time of ignorance; and uphold the duty and render the purity, and obey God and His messenger. God but intends to remove abomination from you — people of the house — and to purify you completely.
