And We said: “O Adam: dwell thou and thy wife in the garden, and eat thereof freely wheresoever you will; but approach not this tree lest you be of the wrongdoers.”

Wa-ith qulna odkhuloo hathihialqaryata fakuloo minha haythu shi/tum raghadan wadkhulooalbaba sujjadan waqooloo hittatun naghfirlakum khatayakum wasanazeedu almuhsineen

And when We said: “Enter this city, and eat freely of it wheresoever you will. And enter the gate in submission, and say: ‘A mitigation!’ We will forgive you your offences, and will increase the doers of good.”

وَضَرَبَ اللّٰهُ مَثَلاً قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ اٰمِنَةً مُطْمَئِنَّةً يَأْت۪يهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَداً مِنْ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِاَنْعُمِ اللّٰهِ فَاَذَاقَهَا اللّٰهُ لِبَاسَ الْجُوعِ وَالْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَ

Wadaraba Allahu mathalanqaryatan kanat aminatan mutma-innatanya/teeha rizquha raghadan min kulli makaninfakafarat bi-anAAumi Allahi faathaqaha Allahulibasa aljooAAi walkhawfi bima kanooyasnaAAoon

And God strikes a similitude: — a city secure, at peace, its provision coming to it in abundance from every side; but it denied the favours of God, then God let it taste the cloak of hunger and fear because of what they wrought.
