Walwalidatu yurdiAAnaawladahunna hawlayni kamilayni liman aradaan yutimma arradaAAata waAAala almawloodilahu rizquhunna wakiswatuhunna bilmaAAroofi latukallafu nafsun illa wusAAaha la tudarrawalidatun biwaladiha wala mawloodun lahubiwaladihi waAAala alwarithi mithlu thalikafa-in arada fisalan AAan taradinminhuma watashawurin fala junahaAAalayhima wa-in aradtum an tastardiAAoo awladakumfala junaha AAalaykum itha sallamtum maataytum bilmaAAroofi wattaqoo AllahawaAAlamoo anna Allaha bima taAAmaloona baseer

And mothers shall suckle their children two complete years, for such as wish to complete the suckling. And upon the father is their provision and their clothing, according to what is fitting. No soul is burdened save to its capacity. A mother shall not be hurt by her child, nor a father by his child. And upon the heir is the like of that. And if they desire weaning by mutual consent and consultation between them, then they do no wrong. And if you desire to seek one to suckle your children, then you do no wrong when you deliver what you have brought according to what is fitting. And be in prudent fear of God, and know that God sees what you do.

Hurrimat AAalaykum ommahatukumwabanatukum waakhawatukum waAAammatukum wakhalatukumwabanatu al-akhi wabanatu al-okhti waommahatukumuallatee ardaAAnakum waakhawatukum mina arradaAAatiwaommahatu nisa-ikum waraba-ibukumu allateefee hujoorikum min nisa-ikumu allateedakhaltum bihinna fa-in lam takoonoo dakhaltum bihinna falajunaha AAalaykum wahala-ilu abna-ikumuallatheena min aslabikum waan tajmaAAoobayna al-okhtayni illa ma qad salafa inna Allahakana ghafooran raheema

Forbidden to you are your mothers, and your daughters, and your sisters, and your paternal aunts, and your maternal aunts, and the daughters of your brother, and the daughters of your sister, and your milk-mothers, and your milk-sisters, and the mothers of your wives, and your step-daughters under your protection from your wives unto whom you have gone in (and if you have gone not in unto them, then there is no wrong upon you) and the wives of your sons of your loins, and that you bring two sisters together, save what is past; God is forgiving and merciful;

Yawma tarawnaha tathhalu kullumurdiAAatin AAamma ardaAAat watadaAAukullu thati hamlin hamlaha wataraannasa sukara wama hum bisukarawalakinna AAathaba Allahi shadeed

Waawhayna ila ommi moosaan ardiAAeehi fa-itha khifti AAalayhi faalqeehi feealyammi wala takhafee wala tahzaneeinna raddoohu ilayki wajaAAiloohu minaalmursaleen

And We instructed the mother of Moses: “Suckle thou him; then when thou fearest for him, cast thou him into the water. And fear thou not, nor grieve: We will return him to thee, and appoint him among the emissaries.”

### 28. Surah Al-Qasas, Verse 12

And We had forbidden him wet-nurses before, so she said: “Shall I direct you to the people of a household who will take care of him for you, and will look after him?”

### 65. Surah At-Talaq, Verse 6

Askinoohunna min haythu sakantum minwujdikum wala tudarroohunna litudayyiqooAAalayhinna wa-in kunna olati hamlin faanfiqooAAalayhinna hatta yadaAAna hamlahunnafa-in ardaAAna lakum faatoohunna ojoorahunnawa/tamiroo baynakum bimaAAroofin wa-in taAAasartum fasaturdiAAulahu okhra

Let them dwell in what manner you dwell, out of your means, and harm them not so as to straiten them. And if they be bearing, then spend on them until they lay down their burden. Then if they suckle for you, then give them their reward, and take counsel among you according to what is fitting. And if there be difficulties between you, another shall suckle for him.
