Wakathalika jaAAalnakumommatan wasatan litakoonoo shuhadaa AAala annasiwayakoona arrasoolu AAalaykum shaheedan wamajaAAalna alqiblata allatee kunta AAalayha illalinaAAlama man yattabiAAu arrasoola mimman yanqalibu AAalaAAaqibayhi wa-in kanat lakabeeratan illa AAalaallatheena hada Allahu wama kanaAllahu liyudeeAAa eemanakum inna Allahabinnasi laraoofun raheem

And thus We made you an intermediary community that you might be witnesses to mankind, and that the Messenger might be a witness to you. And We made not the course which thou wast on save that We might know him who follows the Messenger from him who turns on his heels. And it is hard save for those whom God has guided. And God would not cause your faith to be lost; God is towards men kind and merciful.

Yawma tajidu kullu nafsin ma AAamilatmin khayrin muhdaran wama AAamilat min soo-intawaddu law anna baynaha wabaynahu amadan baAAeedan wayuhaththirukumuAllahu nafsahu wallahu raoofun bilAAibad

“The day every soul will find what it did of good summoned, and what it did of evil, it will wish there were between it and that a great distance.” And God warns you of Himself; and God is kind to the servants.

لَقَدْ تَابَ اللّٰهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ وَالْمُهَاجِر۪ينَ وَالْاَنْصَارِ الَّذ۪ينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ ف۪ي سَاعَةِ الْعُسْرَةِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا كَادَ يَز۪يغُ قُلُوبُ فَر۪يقٍ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْۜ اِنَّهُ بِهِمْ رَؤُ۫فٌ رَح۪يمٌۙ

Laqad taba Allahu AAalaannabiyyi walmuhajireena wal-ansariallatheena ittabaAAoohu fee saAAati alAAusrati minbaAAdi ma kada yazeeghu quloobu fareeqin minhumthumma taba AAalayhim innahu bihim raoofun raheem

God has turned towards the Prophet, and the émigrés, and the helpers who followed him in the hour of hardship, after the hearts of a faction among them had almost deviated; then turned He towards them — He is to them kind and merciful —

There has come to you a messenger from among yourselves; grievous to him is what grieves you; one concerned for you; to the believers kind and merciful.

And they bear your loads to a land you could not have reached save with great trouble to yourselves; your Lord is kind and merciful.)

Or that He will not seize them through slow decay? And your Lord is kind and merciful.

Alam tara anna Allaha sakhkhara lakumma fee al-ardi walfulka tajree fee albahribi-amrihi wayumsiku assamaa an taqaAAa AAalaal-ardi illa bi-ithnihi inna Allahabinnasi laraoofun raheem

Dost thou not see that God made subject for you what is in the earth, and the ships run upon the sea by His command? And He holds back the sky lest it fall upon the earth save by His leave; God is to mankind kind and merciful.

### 24. Surah An-Nur, Verse 2

Azzaniyatu wazzaneefajlidoo kulla wahidin minhuma mi-atajaldatin wala ta/khuthkum bihima ra/fatunfee deeni Allahi in kuntum tu/minoona billahiwalyawmi al-akhiri walyashhad AAathabahumata-ifatun mina almu/mineen

The unchaste woman and the unchaste man: lash each one of the two with a hundred lashes, and let not pity for them take you concerning the doctrine of God if you believe in God and the Last Day. And let witness their punishment a number of the believers.

### 57. Surah Al-Hadid, Verse 9

Huwa allathee yunazzilu AAalaAAabdihi ayatin bayyinatin liyukhrijakummina aththulumati ila annooriwa-inna Allaha bikum laraoofun raheem

He it is that sends down to His servant clear proofs, that He might bring you out of darkness into the light; and God is to you kind and merciful.

### 57. Surah Al-Hadid, Verse 27

ثُمَّ قَفَّيْنَا عَلٰٓى اٰثَارِهِمْ بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيْنَا بِع۪يسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ وَاٰتَيْنَاهُ الْاِنْج۪يلَ وَجَعَلْنَا ف۪ي قُلُوبِ الَّذ۪ينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ رَأْفَةً  وَرَحْمَةًۜ  وَرَهْبَانِيَّةًۨ ابْتَدَعُوهَا مَا كَتَبْنَاهَا عَلَيْهِمْ اِلَّا ابْتِغَٓاءَ رِضْوَانِ اللّٰهِ فَمَا رَعَوْهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَـتِهَاۚ فَاٰتَيْنَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا مِنْهُمْ اَجْرَهُمْۚ وَكَث۪يرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ

Thumma qaffayna AAala atharihimbirusulina waqaffayna biAAeesa ibni maryamawaataynahu al-injeela wajaAAalna fee quloobiallatheena ittabaAAoohu ra/fatan warahmatan warahbaniyyatanibtadaAAooha ma katabnaha AAalayhimilla ibtighaa ridwani Allahifama raAAawha haqqa riAAayatihafaatayna allatheena amanoo minhumajrahum wakatheerun minhum fasiqoon

Then We sent, following in their footsteps, Our messengers; and We sent, following, Jesus, son of Mary. And We gave him the Gospel, and We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. But monasticism, they invented it; We did not prescribe it for them — only the seeking of the approval of God; but they did not observe it with the observance due it. And We gave those who heeded warning among them their reward; but many of them are perfidious.

### 59. Surah Al-Hashr, Verse 10

وَالَّذ۪ينَ جَٓاؤُ۫ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّـنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِاِخْوَانِنَا الَّذ۪ينَ سَبَقُونَا بِالْا۪يمَانِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ ف۪ي قُلُوبِنَا غِلاًّ لِلَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا رَبَّـنَٓا اِنَّكَ رَؤُ۫فٌ رَح۪يمٌ۟

Wallatheena jaoo minbaAAdihim yaqooloona rabbana ighfir lana wali-ikhwaninaallatheena sabaqoona bil-eemani walatajAAal fee quloobina ghillan lillatheena amanoorabbana innaka raoofun raheem

And those who came after them, they say: “Our Lord: forgive Thou us and our brethren who preceded us in faith, and put Thou not in our hearts rancour towards those who heed warning. Our Lord: thou art kind and merciful.”
