Thumma qasat quloobukum min baAAdi thalikafahiya kalhijarati aw ashaddu qaswatanwa-inna mina alhijarati lama yatafajjaruminhu al-anharu wa-inna minha lamayashshaqqaqu fayakhruju minhu almao wa-inna minhalama yahbitu min khashyati Allahi wamaAllahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloon

Then your hearts became hardened after that; and they are like stones or harder. And among stones is that from which gush forth rivers, and among them are those that split and water issues forth, and among them are those that fall down from fear of God; and God is not unmindful of what you do.

فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِمْ م۪يثَاقَهُمْ لَعَنَّاهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَا قُلُوبَهُمْ قَاسِيَةًۚ يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَوَاضِعِه۪ۙ وَنَسُوا حَظاًّ مِمَّا ذُكِّرُوا بِه۪ۚ وَلَا تَزَالُ تَطَّلِعُ عَلٰى خَٓائِنَةٍ مِنْهُمْ اِلَّا قَل۪يلاً مِنْهُمْ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاصْفَحْۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِن۪ينَ

Fabima naqdihim meethaqahumlaAAannahum wajaAAalna quloobahum qasiyatanyuharrifoona alkalima AAan mawadiAAihi wanasoo haththanmimma thukkiroo bihi wala tazalu tattaliAAuAAala kha-inatin minhum illa qaleelan minhumfaAAfu AAanhum wasfah inna Allahayuhibbu almuhsineen

So for their violation of their agreement We cursed them and made their hearts hard. They twist words from their places, and have forgotten a portion of that they were reminded of. And thou wilt not cease to find treachery among them save a few among them; but pardon thou them, and forbear thou; God loves the doers of good.

### 6. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 43

Falawla ith jaahumba/suna tadarraAAoo walakin qasat quloobuhumwazayyana lahumu ashshaytanu ma kanooyaAAmaloon

Oh, that when Our disaster came upon them they had but humbled themselves! But their hearts hardened, and the satan made fair to them what they were doing.

### 22. Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 53

LiyajAAala ma yulqee ashshaytanufitnatan lillatheena fee quloobihim maradun walqasiyatiquloobuhum wa-inna aththalimeenalafee shiqaqin baAAeed

That He might make what the satan casts a means of denial for those in whose hearts is disease and those whose hearts are hard, — and the wrongdoers are in extreme schism —

### 39. Surah Az-Zumar, Verse 22

اَفَمَنْ شَرَحَ اللّٰهُ صَدْرَهُ لِلْاِسْلَامِ فَهُوَ عَلٰى نُورٍ مِنْ رَبِّه۪ۜ فَوَيْلٌ لِلْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللّٰهِۜ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ ف۪ي ضَلَالٍ مُب۪ينٍ

Afaman sharaha Allahu sadrahulil-islami fahuwa AAala noorin min rabbihi fawaylunlilqasiyati quloobuhum min thikri Allahi ola-ikafee dalalin mubeen

Is then he whose breast God has expanded to submission so that he follows light from His Lord[...]? Then woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of God! Those are in manifest error.

### 57. Surah Al-Hadid, Verse 16

اَلَمْ يَأْنِ لِلَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُٓوا اَنْ تَخْشَعَ قُلُوبُهُمْ لِذِكْرِ اللّٰهِ وَمَا نَزَلَ مِنَ الْحَقِّۙ وَلَا يَكُونُوا كَالَّذ۪ينَ اُو۫تُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَطَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْاَمَدُ فَقَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْۜ وَكَث۪يرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ

Alam ya/ni lillatheena amanooan takhshaAAa quloobuhum lithikri Allahi wamanazala mina alhaqqi wala yakoonoo kallatheenaootoo alkitaba min qablu fatala AAalayhimu al-amadufaqasat quloobuhum wakatheerun minhum fasiqoon

Has not the time come for those who heed warning that their hearts should be humbled to the remembrance of God, and what has come down of the truth, and that they be not as those given the Writ before? And the span seemed long to them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are perfidious.
