اَلرِّجَالُ قَوَّامُونَ عَلَى النِّسَٓاءِ بِمَا فَضَّلَ اللّٰهُ بَعْضَهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ وَبِمَٓا اَنْفَقُوا مِنْ اَمْوَالِهِمْۜ فَالصَّالِحَاتُ قَانِتَاتٌ حَافِظَاتٌ لِلْغَيْبِ بِمَا حَفِظَ اللّٰهُۜ وَالّٰت۪ي تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ فَعِظُوهُنَّ وَاهْجُرُوهُنَّ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ وَاضْرِبُوهُنَّۚ فَاِنْ اَطَعْنَكُمْ فَلَا تَبْغُوا عَلَيْهِنَّ سَب۪يلاًۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَلِياًّ كَب۪يراً

Arrijalu qawwamoonaAAala annisa-i bima faddalaAllahu baAAdahum AAala baAAdin wabimaanfaqoo min amwalihim fassalihatu qanitatunhafithatun lilghaybi bima hafithaAllahu wallatee takhafoonanushoozahunna faAAithoohunna wahjuroohunnafee almadajiAAi wadriboohunna fa-in ataAAnakumfala tabghoo AAalayhinna sabeelan inna Allaha kanaAAaliyyan kabeera

Men are responsible for women by what God has favoured one of them over another, and by what they spend of their wealth; and the righteous women are humbly obedient, keeping unseen what God keeps. And those from whom you fear contempt: admonish them; and leave them in beds apart; and strike them. But if they obey you, then seek not a path against them; God is exalted and great.

### 33. Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 31

And whoso among you is humbly obedient to God and His messenger, and works righteousness, We will give her her reward twice over; and We have prepared for her a noble provision.

Inna almuslimeena walmuslimatiwalmu/mineena walmu/minati walqaniteenawalqanitati wassadiqeena wassadiqatiwassabireena wassabiratiwalkhashiAAeena walkhashiAAatiwalmutasaddiqeena walmutasaddiqatiwassa-imeena wassa-imatiwalhafitheena furoojahum walhafithatiwaththakireena Allaha katheeran waththakiratiaAAadda Allahu lahum maghfiratan waajran AAatheema

The submitting men, and the submitting women, and the believing men, and the believing women, and the humbly obedient men, and the humbly obedient women, and the truthful men, and the truthful women, and the patient men, and the patient women, and the humble men, and the humble women, and the men who give charity, and the women who give charity, and the men who fast, and the women who fast, and the men who preserve their chastity, and the women who preserve, and the men who remember God much, and the women who remember — God has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.

### 39. Surah Az-Zumar, Verse 9

اَمَّنْ هُوَ قَانِتٌ اٰنَٓاءَ الَّيْلِ سَاجِداً وَقَٓائِماً يَحْذَرُ الْاٰخِرَةَ وَيَرْجُوا رَحْمَةَ رَبِّه۪ۜ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذ۪ينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذ۪ينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَۜ اِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ اُو۬لُوا الْاَلْبَابِ۟

Amman huwa qanitun anaaallayli sajidan waqa-iman yahtharu al-akhiratawayarjoo rahmata rabbihi qul hal yastawee allatheenayaAAlamoona wallatheena la yaAAlamoonainnama yatathakkaru oloo al-albab

If he who is humbly obedient in the watches of the night, submitting and standing, fearing the Hereafter, and hoping for the mercy of his Lord[...]. Say thou: “Are they equal — those who know and those who know not?” There take heed but those of insight.

### 66. Surah At-Tahrim, Verse 5

عَسٰى رَبُّهُٓ اِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ اَنْ يُبْدِلَهُٓ  اَزْوَاجاً خَيْراً مِنْكُنَّ مُسْلِمَاتٍ مُؤْمِنَاتٍ قَانِتَاتٍ تَٓائِبَاتٍ عَابِدَاتٍ سَٓائِحَاتٍ ثَيِّبَاتٍ وَاَبْكَاراً

AAasa rabbuhu in tallaqakunnaan yubdilahu azwajan khayran minkunna muslimatinmu/minatin qanitatin ta-ibatinAAabidatin sa-ihatin thayyibatinwaabkara

It may be that his Lord — if he divorces you — will give him in exchange wives better than you: women submitted, believing, humbly obedient, penitent, serving, journeying, previously married, and virgins.

### 66. Surah At-Tahrim, Verse 12

وَمَرْيَمَ ابْنَتَ عِمْرٰنَ الَّت۪ٓي اَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا ف۪يهِ مِنْ رُوحِنَا وَصَدَّقَتْ بِكَلِمَاتِ رَبِّهَا وَكُتُبِه۪ وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْقَانِت۪ينَ

Wamaryama ibnata AAimrana allatee ahsanatfarjaha fanafakhna feehi min roohinawasaddaqat bikalimati rabbiha wakutubihi wakanatmina alqaniteen

— And Mary, daughter of ʿImrān, who guarded her chastity, and We breathed into it of Our Spirit, and she confirmed the words of her Lord, and His Writs, and was of the humbly obedient.
