It is made lawful for you on the night of the fast to go in unto your women. They are a covering for you, and you are a covering for them. God knows that you deceived yourselves, so He turned towards you and pardoned you; so now lie with them and seek what God has prescribed for you. And eat and drink until clear to you be the white thread from the black thread of the dawn. Then complete the fast until night. And lie with them not when you remain in the places of worship. Those are the limits of God, so approach them not. Thus does God make plain His proofs to men, that they might be in prudent fear.

Then if he has not a child and there inherit from him his parents, for his mother is one-third; but if he has brothers or sisters: for his mother is one-sixth, after a bequest he has made, or debt — your parents and your children: you know not which of them is nearer to you in benefit — as an obligation from God; God is knowing and wise.

O you who heed warning: let not a people deride another people — it may be that they are better than they; neither women other women — it may be that they are better than they; neither speak ill of yourselves, nor insult one another with nicknames. Bad is the name of perfidy after faith. And whoso turns not in repentance, it is they who are the wrongdoers.

Those among you who assist among their wives: — they are not their mothers; their mothers are only those who gave them birth. And they say what is perverse of speech, and a falsehood; but God is forgiving and merciful.

O Prophet: when you divorce women, divorce them after their waiting period; and count the waiting period, and be in prudent fear of God, your Lord. Turn them not out of their houses, nor let them go forth save if they commit manifest sexual immorality. And those are the limits of God; and whoso transgresses the limits of God has wronged his soul. Thou knowest not, that God might, after that, bring about a new matter.

And for such of your women as despair of menstruation, if you doubt, their waiting period is three months, as well as for those who have not menstruated. And for those who are bearing, their waiting period is until they lay down their burden. And whoso is in prudent fear of God — He will make for him, of His command, ease.
