Allatheena yanqudoona AAahdaAllahi min baAAdi meethaqihi wayaqtaAAoona maamara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayufsidoona fee al-ardiola-ika humu alkhasiroon

Those who break the covenant with God after its agreement, and sever what God commanded to be joined, and work corruption in the land; it is they who are the losers.

فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِمْ م۪يثَاقَهُمْ وَكُفْرِهِمْ بِاٰيَاتِ اللّٰهِ وَقَتْلِهِمُ الْاَنْبِيَٓاءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَقَوْلِهِمْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌۜ بَلْ طَبَعَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهَا بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ اِلَّا قَل۪يلاًۖ

Fabima naqdihim meethaqahumwakufrihim bi-ayati Allahi waqatlihimual-anbiyaa bighayri haqqin waqawlihim quloobunaghulfun bal tabaAAa Allahu AAalayhabikufrihim fala yu/minoona illa qaleela

So, because of their violation of their agreement, and their denial of the proofs of God, and their killing of the prophets without cause, and their saying: “Our hearts are covered,” — nay, God sealed them for their denial, so they do not believe save a few —

Fabima naqdihim meethaqahumlaAAannahum wajaAAalna quloobahum qasiyatanyuharrifoona alkalima AAan mawadiAAihi wanasoo haththanmimma thukkiroo bihi wala tazalu tattaliAAuAAala kha-inatin minhum illa qaleelan minhumfaAAfu AAanhum wasfah inna Allahayuhibbu almuhsineen

So for their violation of their agreement We cursed them and made their hearts hard. They twist words from their places, and have forgotten a portion of that they were reminded of. And thou wilt not cease to find treachery among them save a few among them; but pardon thou them, and forbear thou; God loves the doers of good.

Wallatheena yanqudoonaAAahda Allahi min baAAdi meethaqihi wayaqtaAAoonama amara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayufsidoonafee al-ardi ola-ika lahumu allaAAnatu walahum soo-oaddar

But those who break the covenant of God after its agreement, and sever what God has commanded to be joined, and work corruption in the land: those have the curse, and they have the evil abode.

### 16. Surah An-Nahl, Verse 91

Waawfoo biAAahdi Allahi ithaAAahadtum wala tanqudoo al-aymanabaAAda tawkeediha waqad jaAAaltumu Allaha AAalaykumkafeelan inna Allaha yaAAlamu ma tafAAaloon

And fulfil the covenant of God when you make a covenant; then break not oaths after their confirmation when you have made God your surety; God knows what you do.

### 16. Surah An-Nahl, Verse 92

وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّت۪ي نَقَضَتْ غَزْلَهَا مِنْ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ اَنْكَاثاًۜ تَتَّخِذُونَ اَيْمَانَكُمْ دَخَلاً بَيْنَكُمْ اَنْ تَكُونَ اُمَّةٌ هِيَ اَرْبٰى مِنْ اُمَّةٍۜ اِنَّمَا يَبْلُوكُمُ اللّٰهُ بِه۪ۜ وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّ لَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ مَا كُنْتُمْ ف۪يهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ

Wala takoonoo kallatee naqadatghazlaha min baAAdi quwwatin ankathan tattakhithoonaaymanakum dakhalan baynakum an takoona ommatun hiya arbamin ommatin innama yablookumu Allahu bihiwalayubayyinanna lakum yawma alqiyamati ma kuntumfeehi takhtalifoon

And be not like her who breaks her thread after it was strong into fibres, taking your oaths as a deception between you because one community is more numerous than another community. God but tries you thereby; and He will make plain to you on the Day of Resurrection that wherein you differed.
