Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 275 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْمَسِّ ۚ — l-masi · "(his) touch" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case اَلَّذ۪ينَ يَأْكُلُونَ الرِّبٰوا لَا يَقُومُونَ اِلَّا كَمَا يَقُومُ الَّذ۪ي يَتَخَبَّطُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنَ الْمَسِّۜ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ قَالُٓوا اِنَّمَا الْبَيْعُ مِثْلُ الرِّبٰواۢ وَاَحَلَّ اللّٰهُ الْبَيْعَ وَحَرَّمَ الرِّبٰواۜ فَمَنْ جَٓاءَهُ مَوْعِظَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّه۪ فَانْتَهٰى فَلَهُ مَا سَلَفَۜ وَاَمْرُهُٓ اِلَى اللّٰهِۜ وَمَنْ عَادَ فَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ اَصْحَابُ النَّارِۚ هُمْ ف۪يهَا خَالِدُونَ Allatheena ya/kuloona arribala yaqoomoona illa kama yaqoomu allatheeyatakhabbatuhu ashshaytanu mina almassi thalikabi-annahum qaloo innama albayAAu mithlu arribawaahalla Allahu albayAAa waharrama arribafaman jaahu mawAAithatun min rabbihi fantahafalahu ma salafa waamruhu ila Allahi wamanAAada faola-ika as-habu annarihum feeha khalidoon Those who consume usury will not stand save as stands he whom the satan buffets with his touch; for it is that they say: “Commerce is but the same as usury,” when God has made commerce lawful and forbidden usury! And he to whom came the admonition from his Lord, and desisted: he has what is past, and his case is with God. Surah Al-A'raf, Verse 73 - **Form in this verse:** تَمَسُّوهَا — tamassūhā · "touch her" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَاِلٰى ثَمُودَ اَخَاهُمْ صَـالِـحاًۢ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ اِلٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۜ قَدْ جَٓاءَتْكُمْ بَيِّنَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْۜ هٰذِه۪ نَاقَةُ اللّٰهِ لَكُمْ اٰيَةً فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ ف۪ٓي اَرْضِ اللّٰهِ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُٓوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ اَل۪يمٌ Wa-ila thamooda akhahum salihanqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha malakum min ilahin ghayruhu qad jaatkum bayyinatunmin rabbikum hathihi naqatu Allahi lakum ayatanfatharooha ta/kul fee ardi Allahi walatamassooha bisoo-in faya/khuthakum AAathabunaleem And to Thamūd, their brother Ṣāliḥ. He said: “O my people: serve God; you have no god but He; there has come to you clear evidence from your Lord: this is the she-camel of God, as a proof for you, so leave her to eat in God’s earth, and touch her not with evil lest there take you a painful punishment. _https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-73.md_ ### 7. And had I knowledge of the Unseen, I would have acquired abundance of wealth, and evil would not have touched me; I am only a warner and bearer of glad tidings to people who believe.” _https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-188.md_ ### 7. Surah An-Nur, Verse 35 - **Form in this verse:** تَمْسَسْهُ — tamsashu · "touched it" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, feminine, singular · present tense اَللّٰهُ نُورُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِۜ مَثَلُ نُورِه۪ كَمِشْكٰوةٍ ف۪يهَا مِصْبَاحٌۜ اَلْمِصْبَاحُ ف۪ي زُجَاجَةٍۜ اَلزُّجَاجَةُ كَاَنَّهَا كَوْكَبٌ دُرِّيٌّ يُوقَدُ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ زَيْتُونَةٍ لَا شَرْقِيَّةٍ وَلَا غَرْبِيَّةٍۙ يَكَادُ زَيْتُهَا يُض۪ٓيءُ وَلَوْ لَمْ تَمْسَسْهُ نَارٌۜ نُورٌ عَلٰى نُورٍۜ يَهْدِي اللّٰهُ لِنُورِه۪ مَنْ يَشَٓاءُۜ وَيَضْرِبُ اللّٰهُ الْاَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَل۪يمٌۙ Allahu nooru assamawatiwal-ardi mathalu noorihi kamishkatin feehamisbahun almisbahu fee zujajatinazzujajatu kaannaha kawkabun durriyyunyooqadu min shajaratin mubarakatin zaytoonatin lasharqiyyatin wala gharbiyyatin yakadu zaytuhayudee-o walaw lam tamsas-hu narun noorun AAalanoorin yahdee Allahu linoorihi man yashao wayadribuAllahu al-amthala linnasi wallahubikulli shay-in AAaleem God is the light of the heavens and the earth. The likeness of His light is as a niche wherein is a lamp — the lamp in a glass, the glass as it were a shining star — lit from a blessed tree, an olive neither of East nor West; its oil would nigh illuminate, though no fire touched it: — light upon light! — God guides to His light whom He wills! And whoso is not able: — the feeding of sixty needy persons. That is that you might believe in God and His messenger.
