- **Meaning:** To reduce from a fractured state, or restore from a state of poverty to sufficiency. Set or reduced from a fractured state. 'A poor man being likened to one who has a broken bone and his restoration to wealth being likened to the setting of the bone.' Compell, constrain, incite, urge, or induce another [against his will]. Addition of something for the purpose of reparation [in computation]. Self-magnification, pride, haughtiness, insolence, bold, audacious, inordinate, tyrannical, overbearing, extravagent. A king. 'There has been no prophetic office but a kingly office has succeeded in its place through someone's self-magnification, pride, haughtiness, or insolence.' Slave, servant. No retaliation or expiatory mulct exacted [for a thing/person]. Tall, above the reach of the hand, ascend [the palm tree that grows tall for the cutting of its fruit], and retaining excellence.

Falamma an arada an yabtishabillathee huwa AAaduwwun lahuma qalaya moosa atureedu an taqtulanee kama qataltanafsan bil-amsi in tureedu illa an takoona jabbaranfee al-ardi wama tureedu an takoona mina almusliheen

Then when he desired to lay hold upon him who was an enemy to them both, he said: “O Moses: wouldst thou kill me as thou didst kill a soul yesterday? Thou desirest only to be a tyrant in the land, and desirest not to be of those who do right.”

Allatheena yujadiloona fee ayatiAllahi bighayri sultanin atahum kaburamaqtan AAinda Allahi waAAinda allatheena amanookathalika yatbaAAu Allahu AAala kulliqalbi mutakabbirin jabbar

“Those who dispute concerning the proofs of God without an authority having come to them; great is the hatred in the sight of God and in the sight of those who heed warning; thus does God seal every proud and tyrannical heart.”

We best know what they say; and thou art not a tyrant over them. But remind thou with the Qur’an him who fears My warning.

### 59. Surah Al-Hashr, Verse 23

Huwa Allahu allathee lailaha illa huwa almaliku alquddoosu assalamualmu/minu almuhayminu alAAazeezu aljabbaru almutakabbirusubhana Allahi AAamma yushrikoon

He is God. There is no god save He — the King, the Holy, the Perfect, the Faithful, the Determiner of Truth, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to God above that to which they ascribe a partnership!
