And when they meet those who heed warning, they say: “We believe.” But when they are alone with one another, they say: “Do you recount to them what God has revealed to you, that they might argue against you before your Lord?” Will you then not use reason!

Walamma jaahum kitabunmin AAindi Allahi musaddiqun lima maAAahumwakanoo min qablu yastaftihoona AAala allatheenakafaroo falamma jaahum ma AAarafoo kafaroobihi falaAAnatu Allahi AAala alkafireen

And when there came to them a Writ from God, confirming what was with them — and they before sought victory over those who ignore warning — then when there came to them what they recognised, they denied it; but the curse of God is upon the false claimers of guidance.

Allatheena yatarabbasoonabikum fa-in kana lakum fathun mina Allahi qalooalam nakun maAAakum wa-in kana lilkafireena naseebunqaloo alam nastahwith AAalaykum wanamnaAAkummina almu/mineena fallahu yahkumu baynakumyawma alqiyamati walan yajAAala Allahu lilkafireenaAAala almu/mineena sabeela

Those who watch and wait with regard to you. Then if there be a victory for you from God they say: “Were we not with you?” but if there be for the false claimers of guidance a portion they say: “Did we not gain mastery over you, but defended you against the believers?” And God will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection; and God makes not for the false claimers of guidance any path against the believers.

Fatara allatheena feequloobihim maradun yusariAAoona feehim yaqooloonanakhsha an tuseebana da-iratun faAAasaAllahu an ya/tiya bilfathi aw amrin minAAindihi fayusbihoo AAala ma asarroofee anfusihim nadimeen

And thou seest those in whose hearts is disease competing among them, saying: “We fear lest a reversal befall us.” But it may be that God will bring victory or a command from Him and they will become of what they concealed within their souls, remorseful.

### 6. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 44

So when they forgot that whereof they had been reminded, We opened upon them the gates of all things; when they had exulted in what they were given, We took them suddenly; and then were they in despair,

WaAAindahu mafatihu alghaybi layaAAlamuha illa huwa wayaAAlamu ma feealbarri walbahri wama tasqutu minwaraqatin illa yaAAlamuha wala habbatinfee thulumati al-ardi wala ratbinwala yabisin illa fee kitabin mubeen

And with Him are the keys of the Unseen; and none knows them but He. And He knows what is in the land and the sea; and not a leaf falls but He knows it; nor is there a grain in the darknesses of the earth, and nothing moist or dry, but is in a clear writ.

اِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ كَذَّبُوا بِاٰيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ اَبْوَابُ السَّمَٓاءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتّٰى يَلِجَ الْجَمَلُ ف۪ي سَمِّ الْخِيَاطِۜ وَكَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُجْرِم۪ينَ

Inna allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatinawastakbaroo AAanha la tufattahulahum abwabu assama-i walayadkhuloona aljannata hatta yalija aljamalu feesammi alkhiyati wakathalika najzee almujrimeen

Those who deny Our proofs and wax proud at them: for them the gates of heaven will not be opened, nor will they enter the Garden any more than a twisted rope can pass through the eye of a needle; and thus We requite the lawbreakers.

Qadi iftarayna AAala Allahikathiban in AAudna fee millatikum baAAda ithnajjana Allahu minha wamayakoonu lana an naAAooda feeha illa an yashaaAllahu rabbuna wasiAAa rabbuna kulla shay-inAAilman AAala Allahi tawakkalna rabbanaiftah baynana wabayna qawmina bilhaqqiwaanta khayru alfatiheen

“We should have invented a lie about God if we returned to your creed after God has delivered us from it. It is not for us to return to it save if God our Lord should will. Our Lord encompasses all things in knowledge. In God have we placed our trust.” — “Our Lord, decide Thou between us and our people with justice, for Thou art the best of those who give decision.”

And had the people of the cities believed and been in prudent fear, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied, so We seized them for what they earned.

In tastaftihoo faqad jaakumualfathu wa-in tantahoo fahuwa khayrun lakum wa-intaAAoodoo naAAud walan tughniya AAankum fi-atukum shay-an walawkathurat waanna Allaha maAAa almu/mineen

(If you seek decision: the decision has come to you; and if you cease, it is better for you. But if you return, We will return, and your company will avail you nothing though it be numerous.) — and that God is with the believers.

In tastaftihoo faqad jaakumualfathu wa-in tantahoo fahuwa khayrun lakum wa-intaAAoodoo naAAud walan tughniya AAankum fi-atukum shay-an walawkathurat waanna Allaha maAAa almu/mineen

(If you seek decision: the decision has come to you; and if you cease, it is better for you. But if you return, We will return, and your company will avail you nothing though it be numerous.) — and that God is with the believers.

Walamma fatahoo mataAAahumwajadoo bidaAAatahum ruddat ilayhim qaloo yaabana ma nabghee hathihi bidaAAatunaruddat ilayna wanameeru ahlana wanahfathuakhana wanazdadu kayla baAAeerin thalikakaylun yaseer

And when they opened their possessions, they found their merchandise returned to them. They said: “O our father: what more can we ask! This is our merchandise returned to us. And we will get provision for our people and guard our brother, and will have increase of a camel’s measure — that is an easy measure.”

### 23. Surah Al-Mu'minun, Verse 77

لَيْسَ عَلَى الْاَعْمٰى حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَى الْاَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَى الْمَر۪يضِ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلٰٓى اَنْفُسِكُمْ اَنْ تَأْكُلُوا مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اٰبَٓائِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اُمَّهَاتِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اِخْوَانِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اَخَوَاتِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اَعْمَامِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ عَمَّاتِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اَخْوَالِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ خَالَاتِكُمْ اَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُٓ اَوْ صَد۪يقِكُمْۜ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ اَنْ تَأْكُلُوا جَم۪يعاً اَوْ اَشْتَاتاًۜ فَاِذَا دَخَلْتُمْ بُيُوتاً فَسَلِّمُوا عَلٰٓى اَنْفُسِكُمْ تَحِيَّةً مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ مُبَارَكَةً طَيِّبَةًۜ كَذٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللّٰهُ لَكُمُ الْاٰيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ۟

Laysa AAala al-aAAma harajunwala AAala al-aAAraji harajun walaAAala almareedi harajun wala AAalaanfusikum an ta/kuloo min buyootikum aw buyooti aba-ikumaw buyooti ommahatikum aw buyooti ikhwanikum awbuyooti akhawatikum aw buyooti aAAmamikum awbuyooti AAammatikum aw buyooti akhwalikum awbuyooti khalatikum aw ma malaktum mafatihahuaw sadeeqikum laysa AAalaykum junahun an ta/kuloojameeAAan aw ashtatan fa-itha dakhaltum buyootanfasallimoo AAala anfusikum tahiyyatan min AAindiAllahi mubarakatan tayyibatan kathalikayubayyinu Allahu lakumu al-ayati laAAallakumtaAAqiloon

No blame is there upon the blind, nor any blame upon the lame, nor any blame upon the sick, nor upon yourselves, that you eat of your houses, or the houses of your fathers, or the houses of your mothers, or the houses of your brothers, or the houses of your sisters, or the houses of your paternal uncles, or the houses of your paternal aunts, or the houses of your maternal uncles, or the houses of your maternal aunts, or that whereof you hold the keys, or of your friend; you do no wrong to eat together or separately. But when you enter houses, greet one another with a greeting from God, blessed and good. Thus God makes plain to you the proofs, that you might use reason.

### 26. Surah Ash-Shu'ara, Verse 118

Qārūn was of the people of Moses, but he oppressed them. And We had given him of treasures that whereof the keys weighed down a company of men endowed with strength. When his people said to him: “Exult thou not — God loves not the exultant —

Waseeqa allatheena kafaroo ilajahannama zumaran hatta itha jaoohafutihat abwabuha waqala lahumkhazanatuha alam ya/tikum rusulun minkum yatloonaAAalaykum ayati rabbikum wayunthiroonakumliqaa yawmikum hatha qaloo bala walakinhaqqat kalimatu alAAathabi AAala alkafireen

And those who ignore warning will be driven into Gehenna in companies. When they have come to it, the gates thereof will be opened, and the keepers thereof will say to them: “Came there not to you messengers from among you, reciting to you the proofs of your Lord, and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours?” They will say: “Verily.” But the word of punishment is binding upon the false claimers of guidance.

God was pleased with the believers when they swore fealty to thee beneath the tree; and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquillity upon them, and rewarded them with a near victory,

Laqad sadaqa Allahu rasoolahuarru/ya bilhaqqi latadkhulunnaalmasjida alharama in shaa Allahu amineenamuhalliqeena ruoosakum wamuqassireena latakhafoona faAAalima ma lam taAAlamoo fajaAAala mindooni thalika fathan qareeba

God has confirmed the vision to His messenger in truth: — “You will enter the inviolable place of worship, if God wills, secure, shaven-headed and cut; not fearing.” And He knew what you knew not, and He appointed, besides that, a near victory.

Wama lakum alla tunfiqoo feesabeeli Allahi walillahi meerathu assamawatiwal-ardi la yastawee minkum man anfaqa minqabli alfathi waqatala ola-ika aAAthamudarajatan mina allatheena anfaqoo min baAAdu waqataloowakullan waAAada Allahu alhusna wallahubima taAAmaloona khabeer

And what is with you that you spend not in the cause of God, when to God belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth? Not equal among you is he who spent and who fought before the victory — those are greater in degree than those who spent and fought afterwards. But to each has God promised the best; and God is aware of what you do.
