- **Meaning:** To create out of nothing, cleave/split/crack/break, be broken into pieces, cleave asunder, begin to create. Fitrat - natural disposition or constitution with which a child is created. The faculty of knowing God and capability of accepting the religion of truth, religion. Fatir - creator, one of the names of Allah. Futur - crack/flaw. Munfatirun - split one, cloven one, one rent asunder.

Say thou: “Is it other than God I am to take as ally — the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, and who feeds but is not fed?” Say thou: “I have been commanded to be first among those who submit”; and: “Be thou not among the idolaters.”

“My Lord: Thou hast given me some dominion, and hast taught me some of the interpretation of events; Creator of the Heavens and the Earth: Thou art my ally in the World and the Hereafter. Take Thou me as one submitting, and join Thou me with the righteous.”

Qalat rusuluhum afee Allahishakkun fatiri assamawati wal-ardiyadAAookum liyaghfira lakum min thunoobikumwayu-akhkhirakum ila ajalin musamman qaloo in antumilla basharun mithluna tureedoona an tasuddoonaAAamma kana yaAAbudu abaonafa/toona bisultanin mubeen

Their messengers said: “Can there be about God any doubt: the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth? He calls you, that He will forgive you of your transgressions, and delay you to a stated term.” They said: “You are only mortals like us, who would turn us away from what our fathers served. So bring us a clear authority.”

### 17. Surah Al-Isra, Verse 51

Aw khalqan mimma yakburu fee sudoorikumfasayaqooloona man yuAAeeduna quli allathee fatarakumawwala marratin fasayunghidoona ilayka ruoosahumwayaqooloona mata huwa qul AAasa an yakoona qareeba

“Or a creation of what is great within your breasts!” And they will say: “Who will bring us back?” Say thou: “He who created you the first time.” Then they will shake their heads at thee and say: “When is it?” Say thou: “It may be that it is near:

### 19. Surah Maryam, Verse 90

### 20. Surah Taha, Verse 72

They said: “We will not prefer thee over what has come to us of clear signs, or Him who created us. So decide thou what thou wilt decide; thou canst but decide this worldly life.

### 21. Surah Al-Anbiya, Verse 56

So set thou thy face towards the doctrine, inclining to truth: — the nature of God with which He created people — (there is no changing the creation of God) that is the right doctrine, (but most men know not)

### 30. Surah Ar-Rum, Verse 30

### 35. Surah Fatir, Verse 1

Alhamdu lillahi fatiri assamawatiwal-ardi jaAAili almala-ikatirusulan olee ajnihatin mathna wathulathawarubaAAa yazeedu fee alkhalqi ma yashaoinna Allaha AAala kulli shay-in qadeer

Praise belongs to God, Originator of the Heavens and the Earth who made the angels messengers having wings: two, three, and four! He increases in creation what He wills; God is over all things powerful.

Say thou: “O God, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, the Knower of the Unseen and the Seen: Thou wilt judge between Thy servants concerning that wherein they differed.”

### 42. Surah Ash-Shuraa, Verse 5

Takadu assamawatuyatafattarna min fawqihinna walmala-ikatuyusabbihoona bihamdi rabbihim wayastaghfiroonaliman fee al-ardi ala inna Allaha huwaalghafooru arraheem

The heavens are nigh rent from above themselves, and the angels give glory with the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those upon the earth. In truth, God, He is the Forgiver, the Merciful.

### 42. Surah Ash-Shuraa, Verse 11

Fatiru assamawatiwal-ardi jaAAala lakum min anfusikum azwajanwamina al-anAAami azwajan yathraokum feehilaysa kamithlihi shay-on wahuwa assameeAAu albaseer

The Originator of the Heavens and the Earth has made for you of yourselves pairs, and of the cattle pairs; He creates you thereby — there is nothing like Him — and He is the Hearer, the Seeing.

### 43. Surah Az-Zukhruf, Verse 27

Who created seven heavens in harmony. Thou seest not in the creation of the Almighty any imperfection. So return thou thy vision: seest thou any rifts?

### 73. Surah Al-Muzzammil, Verse 18
