Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 282 - **Form in this verse:** تَدَايَنتُم — tadāyantum · "you contract with one another" - **Grammar:** verb · pattern of tefa'ul · 2nd person, masculine, plural · past tense يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُٓوا اِذَا تَدَايَنْتُمْ بِدَيْنٍ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى فَاكْتُبُوهُۜ وَلْيَكْتُبْ بَيْنَكُمْ كَاتِبٌ بِالْعَدْلِۖ وَلَا يَأْبَ كَاتِبٌ اَنْ يَكْتُبَ كَمَا عَلَّمَهُ اللّٰهُ فَلْيَكْتُبْۚ وَلْيُمْلِلِ الَّذ۪ي عَلَيْهِ الْحَقُّ وَلْيَتَّقِ اللّٰهَ رَبَّهُ وَلَا يَبْخَسْ مِنْهُ شَيْـٔاًۜ فَاِنْ كَانَ الَّذ۪ي عَلَيْهِ الْحَقُّ سَف۪يهاً اَوْ ضَع۪يفاً اَوْ لَا يَسْتَط۪يعُ اَنْ يُمِلَّ هُوَ فَلْيُمْلِلْ وَلِيُّهُ بِالْعَدْلِۜ وَاسْتَشْهِدُوا شَه۪يدَيْنِ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْۚ فَاِنْ لَمْ يَكُونَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَرَجُلٌ وَامْرَاَتَانِ مِمَّنْ تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ الشُّهَدَٓاءِ اَنْ تَضِلَّ اِحْدٰيهُمَا فَتُذَكِّرَ اِحْدٰيهُمَا الْاُخْرٰىۜ وَلَا يَأْبَ الشُّهَدَٓاءُ اِذَا مَا دُعُواۜ وَلَا تَسْـَٔمُٓوا اَنْ تَكْتُبُوهُ صَغ۪يراً اَوْ كَب۪يراً اِلٰٓى اَجَلِه۪ۜ ذٰلِكُمْ اَقْسَطُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ وَاَقْوَمُ لِلشَّهَادَةِ وَاَدْنٰٓى اَلَّا تَرْتَابُٓوا اِلَّٓا اَنْ تَكُونَ تِجَارَةً حَاضِرَةً تُد۪يرُونَهَا بَيْنَكُمْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ اَلَّا تَكْتُبُوهَاۜ وَاَشْهِدُٓوا اِذَا تَبَايَعْتُمْۖ وَلَا يُضَٓارَّ كَاتِبٌ وَلَا شَه۪يدٌۜ وَاِنْ تَفْعَلُوا فَاِنَّهُ فُسُوقٌ بِكُمْۜ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَۜ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ اللّٰهُۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَل۪يمٌ Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooitha tadayantum bidaynin ila ajalin musammanfaktuboohu walyaktub baynakum katibun bilAAadliwala ya/ba katibun an yaktuba kamaAAallamahu Allahu falyaktub walyumlili allatheeAAalayhi alhaqqu walyattaqi Allaha rabbahu walayabkhas minhu shay-an fa-in kana allathee AAalayhialhaqqu safeehan aw daAAeefan aw la yastateeAAuan yumilla huwa falyumlil waliyyuhu bilAAadli wastashhidooshaheedayni min rijalikum fa-in lam yakoonarajulayni farajulun wamraatani mimman tardawnamina ashshuhada-i an tadilla ihdahumafatuthakkira ihdahuma al-okhrawala ya/ba ashshuhadao itha maduAAoo wala tas-amoo an taktuboohu sagheeran awkabeeran ila ajalihi thalikum aqsatu AAindaAllahi waaqwamu lishshahadati waadnaalla tartaboo illa an takoona tijaratanhadiratan tudeeroonaha baynakum falaysa AAalaykumjunahun alla taktubooha waashhidoo ithatabayaAAtum wala yudarra katibun walashaheedun wa-in tafAAaloo fa-innahu fusooqun bikum wattaqooAllaha wayuAAallimukumu Allahu wallahubikulli shay-in AAaleem O you who heed warning: when you contract a debt together to a stated term: write it down, and let a writer write it down between you justly; and let not a writer refuse to write it down as God has taught him; so let him write, and let the debtor dictate, and let him be in prudent fear of God, his Lord, and diminish nothing thereof. But if the debtor be incompetent, or weak, or unable to dictate himself, then his ally shall dictate justly. And call to witness two witnesses from among your men; but if there be not two men, then a man and two women among those you approve as witnesses, that should one of them err, one of them might remind the other; and let not the witnesses refuse when they are called. And be not weary of writing it, small or great, with its term (that is more just in the sight of God, and more upright for witness, and likelier that there will be no doubt between you) save if it be present trade that you transact among you; then you do no wrong that you write it not down. And take witnesses when you enter into contract. And let not a writer or witness be harmed. And if you do, then is it perfidy among you. And be in prudent fear of God. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 73 - **Form in this verse:** دِينَكُمْ — dīnakum · "your religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case وَلَا تُؤْمِنُٓوا اِلَّا لِمَنْ تَبِـعَ د۪ينَكُمْۜ قُلْ اِنَّ الْهُدٰى هُدَى اللّٰهِۙ اَنْ يُؤْتٰٓى اَحَدٌ مِثْلَ مَٓا اُو۫ت۪يتُمْ اَوْ يُحَٓاجُّوكُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّكُمْۜ قُلْ اِنَّ الْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ اللّٰهِۚ يُؤْت۪يهِ مَنْ يَشَٓاءُۜ وَاللّٰهُ وَاسِعٌ عَل۪يمٌۚ Wala tu/minoo illa limantabiAAa deenakum qul inna alhuda huda Allahian yu/ta ahadun mithla ma ooteetum aw yuhajjookumAAinda rabbikum qul inna alfadla biyadi Allahiyu/teehi man yashao wallahu wasiAAunAAaleem “And believe not save him who follows your doctrine.” Say thou: “Guidance is the guidance of God, that one be given the like of what you have been given.” Or would they argue with you before your Lord? Surah An-Nisa, Verse 11 - **Form in this verse:** دَيْنٍ ۗ — daynin · "any debt" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case · indefinite يُوص۪يكُمُ اللّٰهُ ف۪ٓي اَوْلَادِكُمْ لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الْاُنْثَيَيْنِۚ فَاِنْ كُنَّ نِسَٓاءً فَوْقَ اثْنَتَيْنِ فَلَهُنَّ ثُلُثَا مَا تَرَكَۚ وَاِنْ كَانَتْ وَاحِدَةً فَلَهَا النِّصْفُۜ وَلِاَبَوَيْهِ لِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا السُّدُسُ مِمَّا تَرَكَ اِنْ كَانَ لَهُ وَلَدٌۚ فَاِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلَدٌ وَوَرِثَهُٓ اَبَوَاهُ فَلِاُمِّهِ الثُّلُثُۚ فَاِنْ كَانَ لَهُٓ اِخْوَةٌ فَلِاُمِّهِ السُّدُسُ مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوص۪ي بِهَٓا اَوْ دَيْنٍۜ اٰبَٓاؤُ۬كُمْ وَاَبْنَٓاؤُ۬كُمْۚ لَا تَدْرُونَ اَيُّهُمْ اَقْرَبُ لَكُمْ نَفْعاًۚ فَر۪يضَةً مِنَ اللّٰهِۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَل۪يماً حَك۪يماً Yooseekumu Allahu fee awladikumliththakari mithlu haththialonthayayni fa-in kunna nisaan fawqa ithnatayni falahunnathulutha ma taraka wa-in kanat wahidatanfalaha annisfu wali-abawayhi likulli wahidinminhuma assudusu mimma taraka in kanalahu waladun fa-in lam yakun lahu waladun wawarithahu abawahufali-ommihi aththuluthu fa-in kana lahu ikhwatunfali-ommihi assudusu min baAAdi wasiyyatin yooseebiha aw daynin abaokum waabnaokum latadroona ayyuhum aqrabu lakum nafAAan fareedatan mina Allahiinna Allaha kana AAaleeman hakeema God charges you concerning your children: for the male is the like of the portion of two females; but if there are women above two, then for them is two-thirds of what he left; and if she is one, then for her is half; and for his parents: for each one of them is one-sixth of what he left if he has a child. Then if he has not a child and there inherit from him his parents, for his mother is one-third; but if he has brothers or sisters: for his mother is one-sixth, after a bequest he has made, or debt — your parents and your children: you know not which of them is nearer to you in benefit — as an obligation from God; God is knowing and wise. _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-11.md_ ### 4. And for them: one-fourth of what you left, if you have not a child; but if you have a child: for them is one-eighth of what you left, after a bequest you have made, or debt. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 46 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينِ ۚ — l-dīni · "the religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case مِنَ الَّذ۪ينَ هَادُوا يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَوَاضِعِه۪ وَيَقُولُونَ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَاسْمَعْ غَيْرَ مُسْمَعٍ وَرَاعِنَا لَياًّ بِاَلْسِنَتِهِمْ وَطَعْناً فِي الدّ۪ينِۜ وَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَاَطَعْنَا وَاسْمَعْ وَانْظُرْنَا لَكَانَ خَيْراً لَهُمْ وَاَقْوَمَۙ وَلٰكِنْ لَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ اِلَّا قَل۪يلاً Mina allatheena hadoo yuharrifoonaalkalima AAan mawadiAAihi wayaqooloona samiAAnawaAAasayna wasmaAA ghayra musmaAAin waraAAinalayyan bi-alsinatihim wataAAnan fee addeeni walawannahum qaloo samiAAna waataAAna wasmaAAwanthurna lakana khayranlahum waaqwama walakin laAAanahumu Allahubikufrihim fala yu/minoona illa qaleela Some of those who hold to Judaism twist words from their places, — and they say: “We hear and we oppose”; and: “Hear thou what is not heard”; and: “Attend thou to us!” — twisting their tongues, and slandering the doctrine. And had they said: “We hear and we obey”; and: “Hear thou”; and: “Look thou upon us,” it would have been better for them, and more upright; but God has cursed them for their denial; and they do not believe save a few. _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-46.md_ ### 4. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 125 - **Form in this verse:** دِينًۭا — dīnan · "(in) religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case · indefinite وَمَنْ اَحْسَنُ د۪يناً مِمَّنْ اَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُ لِلّٰهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ وَاتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ اِبْرٰه۪يمَ حَن۪يفاًۜ وَاتَّخَذَ اللّٰهُ اِبْرٰه۪يمَ خَل۪يلاً Waman ahsanu deenan mimman aslamawajhahu lillahi wahuwa muhsinun wattabaAAamillata ibraheema haneefan wattakhathaAllahu ibraheema khaleela And who is better in doctrine than he who submits his face to God, and is a doer of good, and follows the creed of Abraham, inclining to truth? Surah An-Nisa, Verse 146 - **Form in this verse:** دِينَهُمْ — dīnahum · "(in) their religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case اِلَّا الَّذ۪ينَ تَابُوا وَاَصْلَحُوا وَاعْتَصَمُوا بِاللّٰهِ وَاَخْلَصُوا د۪ينَهُمْ لِلّٰهِ فَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ مَعَ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَۜ وَسَوْفَ يُؤْتِ اللّٰهُ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ اَجْراً عَظ۪يماً Illa allatheena taboowaaslahoo waAAtasamoo billahiwaakhlasoo deenahum lillahi faola-ika maAAaalmu/mineena wasawfa yu/ti Allahu almu/mineena ajran AAatheema Save those who repent, and make right, and hold fast to God, and are sincere in their doctrine to God; those are with the believers, and God will give the believers a great reward. _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-146.md_ ### 4. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 171 - **Form in this verse:** دِينِكُمْ — dīnikum · "your religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case يَٓا اَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَا تَغْلُوا ف۪ي د۪ينِكُمْ وَلَا تَقُولُوا عَلَى اللّٰهِ اِلَّا الْحَقَّۜ اِنَّمَا الْمَس۪يحُ ع۪يسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُۚ اَلْقٰيهَٓا اِلٰى مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِنْهُۘ فَاٰمِنُوا بِاللّٰهِ وَرُسُلِه۪ۚ وَلَا تَقُولُوا ثَلٰثَةٌۜ اِنْتَهُوا خَيْراً لَكُمْۜ اِنَّمَا اللّٰهُ اِلٰهٌ وَاحِدٌۜ سُبْحَانَهُٓ اَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ وَلَدٌۢ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْاَرْضِۜ وَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ وَك۪يلاً۟ Ya ahla alkitabi lataghloo fee deenikum wala taqooloo AAala Allahiilla alhaqqa innama almaseehu AAeesaibnu maryama rasoolu Allahi wakalimatuhu alqahaila maryama waroohun minhu faaminoo billahiwarusulihi wala taqooloo thalathatun intahookhayran lakum innama Allahu ilahun wahidunsubhanahu an yakoona lahu waladun lahu ma fee assamawatiwama fee al-ardi wakafa billahiwakeela O doctors of the Law: exceed not bounds in your doctrine, nor ascribe to God save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary was only the messenger of God, and His word which He conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and say not: “Three.” Desist; it is best for you. God is but One God. Glory be to Him that He should have a son! Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 3 - **Form in this verse:** دِينِكُمْ — dīnikum · "your religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةُ وَالدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ الْخِنْز۪يرِ وَمَٓا اُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللّٰهِ بِه۪ وَالْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَالْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَالْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَالنَّط۪يحَةُ وَمَٓا اَكَلَ السَّبُعُ اِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ وَاَنْ تَسْتَقْسِمُوا بِالْاَزْلَامِۜ ذٰلِكُمْ فِسْقٌۜ اَلْيَوْمَ يَـئِسَ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ د۪ينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِۜ اَلْيَوْمَ اَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ د۪ينَكُمْ وَاَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَت۪ي وَرَض۪يتُ لَكُمُ الْاِسْلَامَ د۪يناًۜ فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ ف۪ي مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِاِثْمٍۙ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُورٌ رَح۪يمٌ Hurrimat AAalaykumu almaytatu waddamuwalahmu alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahibihi walmunkhaniqatu walmawqoothatu walmutaraddiyatuwannateehatu wama akala assabuAAuilla ma thakkaytum wama thubihaAAala annusubi waan tastaqsimoo bil-azlamithalikum fisqun alyawma ya-isa allatheena kafaroomin deenikum fala takhshawhum wakhshawni alyawmaakmaltu lakum deenakum waatmamtu AAalaykum niAAmatee waradeetulakumu al-islama deenan famani idturra fee makhmasatinghayra mutajanifin li-ithmin fa-inna Allahaghafoorun raheem Forbidden to you is carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that dedicated to other than God, and the strangled, and the beaten, and the fallen, and the gored, and that eaten by the beast of prey save what you slaughter, and that sacrificed upon the altar, and that you seek apportionment by divining arrows — that is perfidy — (this day have those who ignore warning despaired of your doctrine, so fear them not, but fear Me; this day have I perfected for you your doctrine and completed My favour upon you, and approved for you submission as doctrine) but whoso is compelled by hunger, without inclination to sin — God is forgiving and merciful. _https://quran.so/surah-al-maidah/verse-3.md_ ### 5. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 3 - **Form in this verse:** دِينًۭا ۚ — dīnan · "(as) a religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case · indefinite حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةُ وَالدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ الْخِنْز۪يرِ وَمَٓا اُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللّٰهِ بِه۪ وَالْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَالْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَالْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَالنَّط۪يحَةُ وَمَٓا اَكَلَ السَّبُعُ اِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ وَاَنْ تَسْتَقْسِمُوا بِالْاَزْلَامِۜ ذٰلِكُمْ فِسْقٌۜ اَلْيَوْمَ يَـئِسَ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ د۪ينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِۜ اَلْيَوْمَ اَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ د۪ينَكُمْ وَاَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَت۪ي وَرَض۪يتُ لَكُمُ الْاِسْلَامَ د۪يناًۜ فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ ف۪ي مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِاِثْمٍۙ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُورٌ رَح۪يمٌ Hurrimat AAalaykumu almaytatu waddamuwalahmu alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahibihi walmunkhaniqatu walmawqoothatu walmutaraddiyatuwannateehatu wama akala assabuAAuilla ma thakkaytum wama thubihaAAala annusubi waan tastaqsimoo bil-azlamithalikum fisqun alyawma ya-isa allatheena kafaroomin deenikum fala takhshawhum wakhshawni alyawmaakmaltu lakum deenakum waatmamtu AAalaykum niAAmatee waradeetulakumu al-islama deenan famani idturra fee makhmasatinghayra mutajanifin li-ithmin fa-inna Allahaghafoorun raheem Forbidden to you is carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that dedicated to other than God, and the strangled, and the beaten, and the fallen, and the gored, and that eaten by the beast of prey save what you slaughter, and that sacrificed upon the altar, and that you seek apportionment by divining arrows — that is perfidy — (this day have those who ignore warning despaired of your doctrine, so fear them not, but fear Me; this day have I perfected for you your doctrine and completed My favour upon you, and approved for you submission as doctrine) but whoso is compelled by hunger, without inclination to sin — God is forgiving and merciful. _https://quran.so/surah-al-maidah/verse-3.md_ ### 5. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 54 - **Form in this verse:** دِينِهِۦ — dīnihi · "his religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا مَنْ يَرْتَدَّ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ د۪ينِه۪ فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِي اللّٰهُ بِقَوْمٍ يُحِبُّهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَهُٓ اَذِلَّةٍ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ اَعِزَّةٍ عَلَى الْكَافِر۪ينَۘ يُجَاهِدُونَ ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِ وَلَا يَخَافُونَ لَوْمَةَ لَٓائِمٍۜ ذٰلِكَ فَضْلُ اللّٰهِ يُؤْت۪يهِ مَنْ يَشَٓاءُۜ وَاللّٰهُ وَاسِعٌ عَل۪يمٌ Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooman yartadda minkum AAan deenihi fasawfa ya/tee Allahubiqawmin yuhibbuhum wayuhibboonahu athillatinAAala almu/mineena aAAizzatin AAala alkafireenayujahidoona fee sabeeli Allahi wala yakhafoonalawmata la-imin thalika fadlu Allahiyu/teehi man yashao wallahu wasiAAunAAaleem O you who heed warning: whoso among you renounces his doctrine: God will bring a people whom He will love, and who will love Him: humble towards the believers; stern towards the false claimers of guidance; striving in the cause of God, and fearing not the reproach of a critic. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 70 - **Form in this verse:** دِينَهُمْ — dīnahum · "their religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case وَذَرِ الَّذ۪ينَ اتَّخَذُوا د۪ينَهُمْ لَعِباً وَلَهْواً وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَا وَذَكِّرْ بِه۪ٓ اَنْ تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ بِمَا كَسَبَتْۗ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِ وَلِيٌّ وَلَا شَف۪يعٌۚ وَاِنْ تَعْدِلْ كُلَّ عَدْلٍ لَا يُؤْخَذْ مِنْهَاۜ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ الَّذ۪ينَ اُبْسِلُوا بِمَا كَسَبُواۚ لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِنْ حَم۪يمٍ وَعَذَابٌ اَل۪يمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ۟ Wathari allatheena ittakhathoodeenahum laAAiban walahwan wagharrat-humu alhayatuaddunya wathakkir bihi an tubsala nafsunbima kasabat laysa laha min dooni Allahiwaliyyun wala shafeeAAun wa-in taAAdil kulla AAadlin layu/khath minha ola-ika allatheenaobsiloo bima kasaboo lahum sharabun min hameeminwaAAathabun aleemun bima kanoo yakfuroon And leave thou those who take their doctrine as play and diversion, and whom the life of this world has deluded; and remind thou with it lest a soul be given up to destruction for what it earned; it has not, besides God, ally or intercessor. And though it offer in compensation every equivalence, it will not be accepted from it: those are they who are given up to destruction for what they earned; they have scalding water and a painful punishment for what they denied. _https://quran.so/surah-al-anam/verse-70.md_ ### 6. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 137 - **Form in this verse:** دِينَهُمْ ۖ — dīnahum · "their religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case وَكَذٰلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَث۪يرٍ مِنَ الْمُشْرِك۪ينَ قَتْلَ اَوْلَادِهِمْ شُرَكَٓاؤُ۬هُمْ لِيُرْدُوهُمْ وَلِيَلْبِسُوا عَلَيْهِمْ د۪ينَهُمْۜ وَلَوْ شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ مَا فَعَلُوهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ Wakathalika zayyana likatheerin minaalmushrikeena qatla awladihim shurakaohumliyurdoohum waliyalbisoo AAalayhim deenahum walaw shaa Allahuma faAAaloohu fatharhum wama yaftaroon And thus have their partners made fair to many among the idolaters the killing of their children, to bring them to ruin, and to obfuscate their doctrine for them. Surah Al-A'raf, Verse 29 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينَ ۚ — l-dīna · "(in) the religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case قُلْ اَمَرَ رَبّ۪ي بِالْقِسْطِ۠ وَاَق۪يمُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَادْعُوهُ مُخْلِص۪ينَ لَهُ الدّ۪ينَۜ كَمَا بَدَاَكُمْ تَعُودُونَۜ Qul amara rabbee bilqistiwaaqeemoo wujoohakum AAinda kulli masjidin wadAAoohumukhliseena lahu addeena kama badaakumtaAAoodoon Say thou: “My Lord has enjoined equity. Surah Al-Anfal, Verse 72 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينِ — l-dīni · "the religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case اِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِاَمْوَالِهِمْ وَاَنْفُسِهِمْ ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِ وَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰوَوْا وَنَصَرُٓوا اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءُ بَعْضٍۜ وَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا وَلَمْ يُهَاجِرُوا مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ وَلَايَتِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ حَتّٰى يُهَاجِرُواۚ وَاِنِ اسْتَنْصَرُوكُمْ فِي الدّ۪ينِ فَعَلَيْكُمُ النَّصْرُ اِلَّا عَلٰى قَوْمٍ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ م۪يثَاقٌۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَص۪يرٌ Inna allatheena amanoo wahajaroowajahadoo bi-amwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahiwallatheena awaw wanasaroo ola-ikabaAAduhum awliyao baAAdin wallatheenaamanoo walam yuhajiroo ma lakum min walayatihimmin shay-in hatta yuhajiroo wa-ini istansarookumfee addeeni faAAalaykumu annasru illaAAala qawmin baynakum wabaynahum meethaqun wallahubima taAAmaloona baseer Those who heeded warning, and emigrated, and strove with their property and their lives in the cause of God, and those who gave shelter and helped: those are allies one of another. And those who heed warning but have not emigrated: you are not required to protect them from anything until they emigrate; and if they seek help from you within the doctrine, you are required to help save against a people between whom and you is an agreement; and God sees what you do. _https://quran.so/surah-al-anfal/verse-72.md_ ### 9. Surah At-Tawbah, Verse 11 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينِ ۗ — l-dīni · "[the] religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case فَاِنْ تَابُوا وَاَقَامُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتَوُا الزَّكٰوةَ فَاِخْوَانُكُمْ فِي الدّ۪ينِۜ وَنُفَصِّلُ الْاٰيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ Fa-in taboo waaqamoo assalatawaatawoo azzakata fa-ikhwanukum feeaddeeni wanufassilu al-ayatiliqawmin yaAAlamoon But if they repent, and uphold the duty, and render the purity, then are they your brethren in doctrine; and We set out and detail the proofs for people who know. _https://quran.so/surah-at-tawbah/verse-11.md_ ### 9. Surah At-Tawbah, Verse 12 - **Form in this verse:** دِينِكُمْ — dīnikum · "your religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case وَاِنْ نَكَثُٓوا اَيْمَانَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ عَهْدِهِمْ وَطَعَنُوا ف۪ي د۪ينِكُمْ فَقَاتِلُٓوا اَئِمَّةَ الْكُفْرِۙ اِنَّهُمْ لَٓا اَيْمَانَ لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَنْتَهُونَ Wa-in nakathoo aymanahum min baAAdiAAahdihim wataAAanoo fee deenikum faqatilooa-immata alkufri innahum la aymana lahumlaAAallahum yantahoon And if they renege on their oaths after their covenant and revile your doctrine, then fight the leaders of denial: they have no oaths that they might desist. _https://quran.so/surah-at-tawbah/verse-12.md_ ### 9. Surah At-Tawbah, Verse 29 - **Form in this verse:** يَدِينُونَ — yadīnūna · "they acknowledge" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, plural · present tense قَاتِلُوا الَّذ۪ينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّٰهِ وَلَا بِالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللّٰهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلَا يَد۪ينُونَ د۪ينَ الْحَقِّ مِنَ الَّذ۪ينَ اُو۫تُوا الْكِتَابَ حَتّٰى يُعْطُوا الْجِزْيَةَ عَنْ يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ۟ Qatiloo allatheena layu/minoona billahi wala bilyawmial-akhiri wala yuharrimoona ma harramaAllahu warasooluhu wala yadeenoona deena alhaqqimina allatheena ootoo alkitaba hattayuAAtoo aljizyata AAan yadin wahum saghiroon Fight those who believe not in God or the Last Day, and make not unlawful what God and His messenger have made unlawful, and adhere not to the doctrine of truth among those given the Writ, until they make reparation under supervision when they are brought low. _https://quran.so/surah-at-tawbah/verse-29.md_ ### 9. Surah At-Tawbah, Verse 36 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينُ — l-dīnu · "(is) the religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · nominative case اِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْراً ف۪ي كِتَابِ اللّٰهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ مِنْهَٓا اَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌۜ ذٰلِكَ الدّ۪ينُ الْقَيِّمُ فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا ف۪يهِنَّ اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَقَاتِلُوا الْمُشْرِك۪ينَ كَٓافَّةً كَمَا يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ كَٓافَّةًۜ وَاعْلَمُٓوا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّق۪ينَ Inna AAiddata ashshuhoori AAinda Allahiithna AAashara shahran fee kitabi Allahiyawma khalaqa assamawati wal-ardaminha arbaAAatun hurumun thalika addeenualqayyimu fala tathlimoo feehinna anfusakumwaqatiloo almushrikeena kaffatan kama yuqatiloonakumkaffatan waAAlamoo anna Allaha maAAaalmuttaqeen The count of months is with God; twelve months were in the Writ of God the day He created the heavens and the earth; from it are four inviolable. Surah Yunus, Verse 22 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينَ — l-dīna · "(in) the religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case هُوَ الَّذ۪ي يُسَيِّرُكُمْ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِۜ حَتّٰٓى اِذَا كُنْتُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِۚ وَجَرَيْنَ بِهِمْ بِر۪يحٍ طَيِّبَةٍ وَفَرِحُوا بِهَا جَٓاءَتْهَا ر۪يحٌ عَاصِفٌ وَجَٓاءَهُمُ الْمَوْجُ مِنْ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَظَنُّٓوا اَنَّهُمْ اُح۪يطَ بِهِمْۙ دَعَوُا اللّٰهَ مُخْلِص۪ينَ لَهُ الدّ۪ينَۚ لَئِنْ اَنْجَيْتَنَا مِنْ هٰذِه۪ لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الشَّاكِر۪ينَ Huwa allathee yusayyirukum feealbarri walbahri hatta ithakuntum fee alfulki wajarayna bihim bireehin tayyibatinwafarihoo biha jaat-ha reehunAAasifun wajaahumu almawju min kulli makaninwathannoo annahum oheeta bihimdaAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu addeenala-in anjaytana min hathihi lanakoonanna mina ashshakireen He it is that lets you travel in the earth and the sea; when you have boarded ships and sailed by them with a good breeze and exulted thereat–– A tempest wind came upon them, and the waves came on them from every side, and they thought they were encompassed therein; they called to God, sincere to Him in doctrine: “If Thou deliver us from this, we will be among the grateful!” _https://quran.so/surah-yunus/verse-22.md_ ### 10. Surah Yusuf, Verse 40 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينُ — l-dīnu · "(is) the religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · nominative case مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِه۪ٓ اِلَّٓا اَسْمَٓاءً سَمَّيْتُمُوهَٓا اَنْتُمْ وَاٰبَٓاؤُ۬كُمْ مَٓا اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ بِهَا مِنْ سُلْطَانٍۜ اِنِ الْحُكْمُ اِلَّا لِلّٰهِۜ اَمَرَ اَلَّا تَعْبُدُٓوا اِلَّٓا اِيَّاهُۜ ذٰلِكَ الدّ۪ينُ الْقَيِّمُ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ Ma taAAbudoona min doonihi illaasmaan sammaytumooha antum waabaokumma anzala Allahu biha min sultaninini alhukmu illa lillahi amara allataAAbudoo illa iyyahu thalika addeenualqayyimu walakinna akthara annasi layaAAlamoon “You serve, besides Him, only names which you have named, you and your fathers; God sent not down for them any authority. Surah Yusuf, Verse 76 - **Form in this verse:** دِينِ — dīni · "the law" - **Grammar:** noun · genitive case فَبَدَاَ بِاَوْعِيَتِهِمْ قَبْلَ وِعَٓاءِ اَخ۪يهِ ثُمَّ اسْتَخْرَجَهَا مِنْ وِعَٓاءِ اَخ۪يهِۜ كَذٰلِكَ كِدْنَا لِيُوسُفَۜ مَا كَانَ لِيَأْخُذَ اَخَاهُ ف۪ي د۪ينِ الْمَلِكِ اِلَّٓا اَنْ يَشَٓاءَ اللّٰهُۜ نَرْفَعُ دَرَجَاتٍ مَنْ نَشَٓاءُۜ وَفَوْقَ كُلِّ ذ۪ي عِلْمٍ عَل۪يمٌ Fabadaa bi-awAAiyatihim qabla wiAAa-iakheehi thumma istakhrajaha min wiAAa-i akheehi kathalikakidna liyoosufa ma kana liya/khuthaakhahu fee deeni almaliki illa an yashaa AllahunarfaAAu darajatin man nashao wafawqa kulli theeAAilmin AAaleem So he began with their bags before the bag of his brother; then he brought it forth from the bag of his brother. (Thus did We plan for Joseph; he could not have taken his brother within the doctrine of the King save that God had so willed. Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 78 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينِ — l-dīni · "the religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case وَجَاهِدُوا فِي اللّٰهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِه۪ۜ هُوَ اجْتَبٰيكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الدّ۪ينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍۜ مِلَّةَ اَب۪يكُمْ اِبْرٰه۪يمَۜ هُوَ سَمّٰيكُمُ الْمُسْلِم۪ينَ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَف۪ي هٰذَا لِيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ شَه۪يداً عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا شُهَدَٓاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِۚ فَاَق۪يمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَ وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِاللّٰهِۜ هُوَ مَوْلٰيكُمْۚ فَنِعْمَ الْمَوْلٰى وَنِعْمَ النَّص۪يرُ Wajahidoo fee Allahi haqqajihadihi huwa ijtabakum wama jaAAalaAAalaykum fee addeeni min harajin millata abeekumibraheema huwa sammakumu almuslimeena min qabluwafee hatha liyakoona arrasoolu shaheedanAAalaykum watakoonoo shuhadaa AAala annasifaaqeemoo assalata waatoo azzakatawaAAtasimoo billahi huwa mawlakumfaniAAma almawla waniAAma annaseer And strive for God with the striving due Him. He has chosen you, and has not placed upon you in doctrine any distress — the creed of your father Abraham. He named you those submitting before, and in this, that the Messenger might be a witness to you, and that you might be witnesses to men. So uphold the duty, and render the purity, and hold fast to God; He is your protector. Then excellent is the Protector! Surah An-Nur, Verse 2 - **Form in this verse:** دِينِ — dīni · "(the) religion of Allah" - **Grammar:** noun · genitive case اَلزَّانِيَةُ وَالزَّان۪ي فَاجْلِدُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا مِائَةَ جَلْدَةٍۖ وَلَا تَأْخُذْكُمْ بِهِمَا رَأْفَةٌ ف۪ي د۪ينِ اللّٰهِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِۚ وَلْيَشْهَدْ عَذَابَهُمَا طَٓائِفَةٌ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ Azzaniyatu wazzaneefajlidoo kulla wahidin minhuma mi-atajaldatin wala ta/khuthkum bihima ra/fatunfee deeni Allahi in kuntum tu/minoona billahiwalyawmi al-akhiri walyashhad AAathabahumata-ifatun mina almu/mineen The unchaste woman and the unchaste man: lash each one of the two with a hundred lashes, and let not pity for them take you concerning the doctrine of God if you believe in God and the Last Day. Surah An-Nur, Verse 55 - **Form in this verse:** دِينَهُمُ — dīnahumu · "their religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case وَعَدَ اللّٰهُ الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْاَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذ۪ينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْۖ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ د۪ينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضٰى لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ اَمْناًۜ يَعْبُدُونَن۪ي لَا يُشْرِكُونَ ب۪ي شَيْـٔاًۜ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ فَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ WaAAada Allahu allatheena amanoominkum waAAamiloo assalihatilayastakhlifannahum fee al-ardi kama istakhlafaallatheena min qablihim walayumakkinanna lahum deenahumuallathee irtada lahum walayubaddilannahum minbaAAdi khawfihim amnan yaAAbudoonanee la yushrikoona beeshay-an waman kafara baAAda thalika faola-ika humualfasiqoon (God has promised those who heed warning among you and do righteous deeds that He will make them successors in the earth, even as He made those successors who were before them. And He will establish for them their doctrine which He approved for them, and will give them in exchange after their fear, safety. Surah Luqman, Verse 32 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينَ — l-dīna · "(in) religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case وَاِذَا غَشِيَهُمْ مَوْجٌ كَالظُّلَلِ دَعَوُا اللّٰهَ مُخْلِص۪ينَ لَهُ الدّ۪ينَۚ فَلَمَّا نَجّٰيهُمْ اِلَى الْبَرِّ فَمِنْهُمْ مُقْتَصِدٌۜوَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِاٰيَاتِنَٓا اِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٍ كَفُورٍ Wa-itha ghashiyahum mawjun kaththulalidaAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu addeenafalamma najjahum ila albarri faminhum muqtasidunwama yajhadu bi-ayatina illakullu khattarin kafoor And when a wave covers them like canopies they call to God, sincere to Him in doctrine; then when He delivers them to the land, some among them are lukewarm. Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 5 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينِ — l-dīni · "[the] religion" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case اُدْعُوهُمْ لِاٰبَٓائِهِمْ هُوَ اَقْسَطُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِۚ فَاِنْ لَمْ تَعْلَمُٓوا اٰبَٓاءَهُمْ فَاِخْوَانُكُمْ فِي الدّ۪ينِ وَمَوَال۪يكُمْۜ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ ف۪يمَٓا اَخْطَأْتُمْ بِه۪ۙ وَلٰكِنْ مَا تَعَمَّدَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْۜ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوراً رَح۪يماً OdAAoohum li-aba-ihim huwa aqsatuAAinda Allahi fa-in lam taAAlamoo abaahumfa-ikhwanukum fee addeeni wamawaleekumwalaysa AAalaykum junahun feema akhta/tumbihi walakin ma taAAammadat quloobukum wakanaAllahu ghafooran raheema Call them by their fathers; it is more equitable in the sight of God. But if you know not their fathers, then are they your brethren in doctrine and your allies. And you do no wrong in what you offended therein; but what your hearts intended[...]. Surah As-Saffat, Verse 20 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلدِّينِ — l-dīni · "(of) the Recompense" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case وَقَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا هٰذَا يَوْمُ الدّ۪ينِ Waqaloo ya waylana hathayawmu addeen And they will say: “Woe is us!
