Who is it that will lend to God a goodly loan that He might multiply it by many multiples for him? And God constricts and expands; and to Him will you be returned.

Waqala lahum nabiyyuhum inna Allahaqad baAAatha lakum taloota malikan qaloo annayakoonu lahu almulku AAalayna wanahnu ahaqqubilmulki minhu walam yu/ta saAAatan mina almali qalainna Allaha istafahu AAalaykum wazadahubastatan fee alAAilmi waljismi wallahuyu/tee mulkahu man yashao wallahu wasiAAunAAaleem

And their prophet said to them: “God has raised up for you Saul as king.” They said: “How can he have dominion over us when we are worthier of dominion than he, when he has not been given abundance of wealth?” He said: “God has chosen him over you, and increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature.” And God gives His dominion to whom He wills; and God is encompassing and knowing.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooothkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith hammaqawmun an yabsutoo ilaykum aydiyahum fakaffa aydiyahumAAankum wattaqoo Allaha waAAala Allahifalyatawakkali almu/minoon

O you who heed warning: remember the favour of God upon you when a people purposed to stretch out their hands against you, and He restrained their hands from you; and be in prudent fear of God; and in God then let the believers place their trust.

Waqalati alyahoodu yadu Allahimaghloolatun ghullat aydeehim waluAAinoo bima qaloobal yadahu mabsootatani yunfiqu kayfa yashaowalayazeedanna katheeran minhum ma onzila ilayka minrabbika tughyanan wakufran waalqaynabaynahumu alAAadawata walbaghdaa ilayawmi alqiyamati kullama awqadoo naran lilharbiatfaaha Allahu wayasAAawna fee al-ardifasadan wallahu la yuhibbualmufsideen

And the Rabbinic Jews say: “The hand of God is fettered.” Fettered are their hands! And cursed are they for what they say! Nay, His hands are spread wide; He spends how He wills. And there increases many of them in inordinacy and denial what was sent down to thee from thy Lord. And We have cast among them enmity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection; whenever they lit the fire of war, God extinguished it; and they strive in the land for corruption; and God loves not the workers of corruption.

### 6. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 93

وَمَنْ اَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرٰى عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِباً اَوْ قَالَ اُو۫حِيَ اِلَيَّ وَلَمْ يُوحَ اِلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ وَمَنْ قَالَ سَاُنْزِلُ مِثْلَ مَٓا اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُۜ وَلَوْ تَرٰٓى اِذِ الظَّالِمُونَ ف۪ي غَمَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ وَالْمَلٰٓئِكَةُ بَاسِطُٓوا اَيْد۪يهِمْۚ اَخْرِجُٓوا اَنْفُسَكُمْۜ اَلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ الْهُونِ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ غَيْرَ الْحَقِّ وَكُنْتُمْ عَنْ اٰيَاتِه۪ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

Waman athlamu mimmani iftaraAAala Allahi kathiban aw qala oohiyailayya walam yooha ilayhi shay-on waman qalasaonzilu mithla ma anzala Allahu walaw taraithi aththalimoona fee ghamaratialmawti walmala-ikatu basitooaydeehim akhrijoo anfusakumu alyawma tujzawna AAathabaalhooni bima kuntum taqooloona AAala Allahighayra alhaqqi wakuntum AAan ayatihitastakbiroon

And who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about God, or says: “It has been revealed to me,” when nothing has been revealed to him, and who says: “I will send down the like of what God sent down”? And if thou couldst see when the wrongdoers are in the throes of death and the angels stretching out their hands: “Bring forth your souls; this day are you rewarded with the punishment of humiliation because you ascribed to God other than the truth, and waxed proud at His proofs!”[...].

Awa AAajibtum an jaakum thikrunmin rabbikum AAala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum wathkurooith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi qawmi noohinwazadakum fee alkhalqi bastatan fathkurooalaa Allahi laAAallakum tuflihoon

“Do you marvel that there has come to you remembrance from your Lord through a man among you, that he should warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah, and increased you in creation abundantly; then remember the favours of God, that you might be successful.”

لَهُ دَعْوَةُ الْحَقِّۜ وَالَّذ۪ينَ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِه۪ لَا يَسْتَج۪يبُونَ لَهُمْ بِشَيْءٍ اِلَّا كَبَاسِطِ كَفَّيْهِ اِلَى الْمَٓاءِ لِيَبْلُغَ فَاهُ وَمَا هُوَ بِبَالِغِه۪ۜ وَمَا دُعَٓاءُ الْكَافِر۪ينَ اِلَّا ف۪ي ضَلَالٍ

Lahu daAAwatu alhaqqi wallatheenayadAAoona min doonihi la yastajeeboona lahum bishay-in illakabasiti kaffayhi ila alma-iliyablugha fahu wama huwa bibalighihi wamaduAAao alkafireena illa fee dalal

To Him belongs the call of truth; and those to whom they call, besides Him, answer them nothing save it be as one stretching forth his hands to water, that it might reach his mouth, but it reaches it not; and the supplication of the false claimers of guidance is only in error.

### 13. Surah Ar-Ra'd, Verse 26

Allahu yabsutu arrizqaliman yashao wayaqdiru wafarihoo bilhayatiaddunya wama alhayatu addunyafee al-akhirati illa mataAA

God expands provision for whom He wills, and He straitens. And they exult at the life of this world; but the life of this world compared with the Hereafter is only a passing pleasure.

### 17. Surah Al-Isra, Verse 29

### 18. Surah Al-Kahf, Verse 18

وَتَحْسَبُهُمْ اَيْقَاظاً وَهُمْ رُقُودٌۗ وَنُقَلِّبُهُمْ ذَاتَ الْيَم۪ينِ وَذَاتَ الشِّمَالِۗ وَكَلْبُهُمْ بَاسِطٌ ذِرَاعَيْهِ بِالْوَص۪يدِۜ لَوِ اطَّـلَعْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَوَلَّيْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِرَاراً وَلَمُلِئْتَ مِنْهُمْ رُعْباً

Watahsabuhum ayqathanwahum ruqoodun wanuqallibuhum thata alyameeni wathataashshimali wakalbuhum basitun thiraAAayhibilwaseedi lawi ittalaAAta AAalayhimlawallayta minhum firaran walamuli/ta minhum ruAAba

And thou thinkest them awake, when they are asleep; and We cause them to turn to the right and the left.) And their dog was stretching out its two paws on the threshold — hadst thou looked upon them, thou wouldst have turned away from them in flight and been filled with terror of them.

### 28. Surah Al-Qasas, Verse 82

Waasbaha allatheenatamannaw makanahu bil-amsi yaqooloona waykaannaAllaha yabsutu arrizqa liman yashaomin AAibadihi wayaqdiru lawla an manna AllahuAAalayna lakhasafa bina waykaannahu la yuflihualkafiroon

And morning found those who had desired his place the day before, saying: “Oh, how God expands and straitens the provision for whom He wills of His servants! Had God not been gracious to us, He would have caused it to swallow us. And oh, how the false claimers of guidance do not succeed!”)

### 29. Surah Al-'Ankabut, Verse 62

God expands provision for whom He wills of His servants, and He straitens for him; God knows all things.

Have they not considered that God expands provision for whom He wills, and He straitens? In that are proofs for people who believe.

### 30. Surah Ar-Rum, Verse 48

Allahu allathee yursilu arriyahafatutheeru sahaban fayabsutuhu fee assama-ikayfa yashao wayajAAaluhu kisafan fatara alwadqayakhruju min khilalihi fa-itha asaba bihiman yashao min AAibadihi itha humyastabshiroon

God is He who sends the winds, that they stir up a cloud, and He spreads it in the sky as He wills; and He makes it pieces and thou seest the rain come forth from the midst of it; then when He makes it fall on whom He wills of His servants they rejoice

Say thou: “My Lord expands provision for whom He wills of His servants, and He straitens for him.” And what you have spent of anything, He will replace it; and He is the best of providers.

### 42. Surah Ash-Shuraa, Verse 12

Lahu maqaleedu assamawatiwal-ardi yabsutu arrizqa liman yashaowayaqdiru innahu bikulli shay-in AAaleem

To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He expands provision for whom He wills, and He straitens; He knows all things.

### 42. Surah Ash-Shuraa, Verse 27

Walaw basata Allahu arrizqaliAAibadihi labaghaw fee al-ardi walakinyunazzilu biqadarin ma yashao innahu biAAibadihikhabeerun baseer

And had God expanded the provision for His servants, they would have oppressed in the earth; but He sends down in measure what He wills; He is of His servants aware and seeing.

### 60. Surah Al-Mumtahanah, Verse 2

If they come upon you, they will be enemies to you, and stretch out their hands and their tongues against you with evil; and they wish that you should deny.
