Alam tara ila allathee hajjaibraheema fee rabbihi an atahu Allahualmulka ith qala ibraheemu rabbiya allatheeyuhyee wayumeetu qala ana ohyeewaomeetu qala ibraheemu fa-inna Allahaya/tee bishshamsi mina almashriqi fa/ti biha minaalmaghribi fabuhita allathee kafara wallahula yahdee alqawma aththalimeen

Hast thou not considered the one who disputed with Abraham concerning his Lord because God had given him dominion? When Abraham said: “My Lord is He who gives life, and gives death,” he said: “I give life, and I give death.” Abraham said: “God brings the sun from the East; so bring thou it from the West.” Then was the one who ignored warning lost for words; and God guides not the wrongdoing people.

Wa-in aradtumu istibdala zawjin makanazawjin waataytum ihdahunna qintaranfala ta/khuthoo minhu shay-an ata/khuthoonahubuhtanan wa-ithman mubeena

And if you wish to replace one wife with another and you have given one of them a fortune, take not from it anything; would you take it through false accusation and obvious sin?

Waman yaksib khatee-atan aw ithmanthumma yarmi bihi baree-an faqadi ihtamala buhtananwa-ithman mubeena

And whoso commits an offence or any sin then casts it upon an innocent, he has laid upon himself calumny and obvious sin.

### 21. Surah Al-Anbiya, Verse 40

Bal ta/teehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum falayastateeAAoona raddaha wala hum yuntharoon

But it will come upon them unexpectedly, and render them speechless, and they will be unable to repel it, nor will they be granted respite.

Walawla ith samiAAtumoohuqultum ma yakoonu lana an natakallama bihathasubhanaka hatha buhtanun AAatheem

Oh, that when you heard it you had but said: “It is not for us to speak of this. Glory be to Thee! This is a monstrous slander!”

### 33. Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 58

And those who hinder believing men and believing women with what they have not earned: they bear a calumny and obvious sin.

### 60. Surah Al-Mumtahanah, Verse 12

يَٓا اَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ اِذَا جَٓاءَكَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتُ يُبَايِعْنَكَ عَلٰٓى اَنْ لَا يُشْرِكْنَ بِاللّٰهِ شَيْـٔاً وَلَا يَسْرِقْنَ وَلَا يَزْن۪ينَ وَلَا يَقْتُلْنَ اَوْلَادَهُنَّ وَلَا يَأْت۪ينَ بِبُهْتَانٍ يَفْتَر۪ينَهُ بَيْنَ اَيْد۪يهِنَّ وَاَرْجُلِهِنَّ وَلَا يَعْص۪ينَكَ ف۪ي مَعْرُوفٍ فَبَايِعْهُنَّ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُنَّ اللّٰهَۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُورٌ رَح۪يمٌ

Ya ayyuha annabiyyu ithajaaka almu/minatu yubayiAAnaka AAalaan la yushrikna billahi shay-an walayasriqna wala yazneena wala yaqtulna awladahunnawala ya/teena bibuhtanin yaftareenahu baynaaydeehinna waarjulihinna wala yaAAseenaka feemaAAroofin fabayiAAhunna wastaghfir lahunna Allahainna Allaha ghafoorun raheem

O Prophet: when the believing women come to thee, swearing fealty to thee: — that they will not ascribe a partnership with God to anything; and they will not steal; and they will not commit unlawful sexual intercourse; and they will not kill their children; and they will not produce a calumny they have invented between their hands and their feet; and they will not disobey thee in what is fitting; — then accept thou their fealty, and ask thou God to forgive them; God is forgiving and merciful.
