They would that you should suffer. Hatred has already become clear from their mouths, and what their breasts hide is greater. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 154 - **Form in this verse:** يُبْدُونَ — yub'dūna · "they reveal" - **Grammar:** verb · pattern of if'al · 3rd person, masculine, plural · present tense ثُمَّ اَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ الْغَمِّ اَمَنَةً نُعَاساً يَغْشٰى طَٓائِفَةً مِنْكُمْۙ وَطَٓائِفَةٌ قَدْ اَهَمَّتْهُمْ اَنْفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِاللّٰهِ غَيْرَ الْحَقِّ ظَنَّ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِۜ يَقُولُونَ هَلْ لَنَا مِنَ الْاَمْرِ مِنْ شَيْءٍۜ قُلْ اِنَّ الْاَمْرَ كُلَّهُ لِلّٰهِۜ يُخْفُونَ ف۪ٓي اَنْفُسِهِمْ مَا لَا يُبْدُونَ لَكَۜ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ الْاَمْرِ شَيْءٌ مَا قُتِلْنَا هٰهُنَاۜ قُلْ لَوْ كُنْتُمْ ف۪ي بُيُوتِكُمْ لَبَرَزَ الَّذ۪ينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَتْلُ اِلٰى مَضَاجِعِهِمْۚ وَلِيَبْتَلِيَ اللّٰهُ مَا ف۪ي صُدُورِكُمْ وَلِيُمَحِّصَ مَا ف۪ي قُلُوبِكُمْۜ وَاللّٰهُ عَل۪يمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ Thumma anzala AAalaykum min baAAdi alghammiamanatan nuAAasan yaghsha ta-ifatan minkumwata-ifatun qad ahammat-hum anfusuhum yathunnoonabillahi ghayra alhaqqi thannaaljahiliyyati yaqooloona hal lana mina al-amri minshay-in qul inna al-amra kullahu lillahi yukhfoona feeanfusihim ma la yubdoona laka yaqooloona law kanalana mina al-amri shay-on ma qutilna hahunaqul law kuntum fee buyootikum labaraza allatheena kutibaAAalayhimu alqatlu ila madajiAAihim waliyabtaliyaAllahu ma fee sudoorikum waliyumahhisama fee quloobikum wallahu AAaleemun bithatiassudoor Then He sent down upon you, after distress, security, slumber overcoming a number of you; and a number had grieved themselves thinking about God other than the truth — the thought of ignorance — saying: “Have we any part in the affair?” Say thou: “The affair belongs entirely to God.” They hide within themselves what they reveal not to thee, saying: “Had we any part in the affair, we would not have been slain here.” Say thou: “Had you been in your houses, those for whom killing was decreed would have gone forth to their resting places”; and: “That God might try what is in your breasts”; and: “That He might refine what is in your hearts.” And God knows what is in the breasts. _https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-154.md_ ### 4. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 91 - **Form in this verse:** تُبْدُونَهَا — tub'dūnahā · "you disclose (some of) it" - **Grammar:** verb · pattern of if'al · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللّٰهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِه۪ٓ اِذْ قَالُوا مَٓا اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى بَشَرٍ مِنْ شَيْءٍۜ قُلْ مَنْ اَنْزَلَ الْكِتَابَ الَّذ۪ي جَٓاءَ بِه۪ مُوسٰى نُوراً وَهُدًى لِلنَّاسِ تَجْعَلُونَهُ قَرَاط۪يسَ تُبْدُونَهَا وَتُخْفُونَ كَث۪يراًۚ وَعُلِّمْتُمْ مَا لَمْ تَعْلَمُٓوا اَنْتُمْ وَلَٓا اٰبَٓاؤُ۬كُمْۜ قُلِ اللّٰهُۙ ثُمَّ ذَرْهُمْ ف۪ي خَوْضِهِمْ يَلْعَبُونَ Wama qadaroo Allaha haqqaqadrihi ith qaloo ma anzala AllahuAAala basharin min shay-in qul man anzala alkitabaallathee jaa bihi moosa nooran wahudan linnasitajAAaloonahu qarateesa tubdoonaha watukhfoonakatheeran waAAullimtum ma lam taAAlamoo antum wala abaokumquli Allahu thumma tharhum fee khawdihimyalAAaboon And they measured God not with the measure due Him when they said: “God has not sent down upon a mortal anything.” Say thou: “Who sent down the Writ which Moses brought as a light and guidance for men?” (You make it into parchments which you show; and you conceal much; and you were taught what you knew not, you and your fathers.) Surah Al-A'raf, Verse 20 - **Form in this verse:** لِيُبْدِىَ — liyub'diya · "to make apparent" - **Grammar:** verb · pattern of if'al · 3rd person, masculine, singular · present tense فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ لِيُبْدِيَ لَهُمَا مَا وُ۫رِيَ عَنْهُمَا مِنْ سَوْاٰتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهٰيكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هٰذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ اِلَّٓا اَنْ تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ اَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ الْخَالِد۪ينَ Fawaswasa lahuma ashshaytanuliyubdiya lahuma ma wooriya AAanhuma minsaw-atihima waqala ma nahakumarabbukuma AAan hathihi ashshajarati illaan takoona malakayni aw takoona mina alkhalideen Then the satan whispered to them, to make manifest to them what was hidden from them of their shame. Surah Al-A'raf, Verse 22 - **Form in this verse:** بَدَتْ — badat · "became apparent" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, feminine, singular · past tense فَدَلّٰيهُمَا بِغُرُورٍۚ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا الشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْاٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِنْ وَرَقِ الْجَنَّةِۜ وَنَادٰيهُمَا رَبُّهُمَٓا اَلَمْ اَنْهَكُمَا عَنْ تِلْكُمَا الشَّجَرَةِ وَاَقُلْ لَكُمَٓا اِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُب۪ينٌ Fadallahuma bighuroorin falammathaqa ashshajarata badat lahuma saw-atuhumawatafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhimamin waraqi aljannati wanadahuma rabbuhumaalam anhakuma AAan tilkuma ashshajaratiwaaqul lakuma inna ashshaytana lakumaAAaduwwun mubeen And he led them by delusion; then when they tasted of the tree, their shame was made manifest to them, and they began to draw over them of the leaves of the garden. And their Lord called to them: “Did I not forbid you that tree? And did I not say to you: ‘The satan is an open enemy to you’?” _https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-22.md_ ### 11. Surah Yusuf, Verse 100 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْبَدْوِ — l-badwi · "the bedouin life" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · genitive case وَرَفَعَ اَبَوَيْهِ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ وَخَرُّوا لَهُ سُجَّداًۚ وَقَالَ يَٓا اَبَتِ هٰذَا تَأْو۪يلُ رُءْيَايَ مِنْ قَبْلُۘ قَدْ جَعَلَهَا رَبّ۪ي حَقاًّۜ وَقَدْ اَحْسَنَ ب۪ٓي اِذْ اَخْرَجَن۪ي مِنَ السِّجْنِ وَجَٓاءَ بِكُمْ مِنَ الْبَدْوِ مِنْ بَعْدِ اَنْ نَزَغَ الشَّيْطَانُ بَيْن۪ي وَبَيْنَ اِخْوَت۪يۜ اِنَّ رَبّ۪ي لَط۪يفٌ لِمَا يَشَٓاءُۜ اِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَل۪يمُ الْحَك۪يمُ WarafaAAa abawayhi AAala alAAarshiwakharroo lahu sujjadan waqala ya abati hathata/weelu ru/yaya min qablu qad jaAAalaha rabbee haqqanwaqad ahsana bee ith akhrajanee mina assijniwajaa bikum mina albadwi min baAAdi an nazagha ashshaytanubaynee wabayna ikhwatee inna rabbee lateefun limayashao innahu huwa alAAaleemu alhakeem And he raised his parents upon the throne. And they fell down to him in submission, and he said: “O my father: this is the fulfilment of my dream before. My Lord has made it true. And He did good to me when He took me out of the prison, and brought you from the desert after the satan had provoked to evil between me and my brothers. Surah An-Nur, Verse 31 - **Form in this verse:** يُبْدِينَ — yub'dīna · "(to) display" - **Grammar:** verb · pattern of if'al · 3rd person, feminine, plural · present tense وَقُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ اَبْصَارِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْد۪ينَ ز۪ينَتَهُنَّ اِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلٰى جُيُوبِهِنَّۖ وَلَا يُبْد۪ينَ ز۪ينَتَهُنَّ اِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ اَوْ اٰبَٓائِهِنَّ اَوْ اٰبَٓاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ اَوْ اَبْنَٓائِهِنَّ اَوْ اَبْنَٓاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ اَوْ اِخْوَانِهِنَّ اَوْ بَن۪ٓي اِخْوَانِهِنَّ اَوْ بَن۪ٓي اَخَوَاتِهِنَّ اَوْ نِسَٓائِهِنَّ اَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ اَيْمَانُهُنَّ اَوِ التَّابِع۪ينَ غَيْرِ اُو۬لِي الْاِرْبَةِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ اَوِ الطِّفْلِ الَّذ۪ينَ لَمْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلٰى عَوْرَاتِ النِّسَٓاءِۖ وَلَا يَضْرِبْنَ بِاَرْجُلِهِنَّ لِيُعْلَمَ مَا يُخْف۪ينَ مِنْ ز۪ينَتِهِنَّۜ وَتُوبُٓوا اِلَى اللّٰهِ جَم۪يعاً اَيُّهَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ Waqul lilmu/minati yaghdudnamin absarihinna wayahfathnafuroojahunna wala yubdeena zeenatahunna illa mathahara minha walyadribnabikhumurihinna AAala juyoobihinna wala yubdeenazeenatahunna illa libuAAoolatihinna aw aba-ihinnaaw aba-i buAAoolatihinna aw abna-ihinna awabna-i buAAoolatihinna aw ikhwanihinna aw baneeikhwanihinna aw banee akhawatihinna aw nisa-ihinnaaw ma malakat aymanuhunna awi attabiAAeenaghayri olee al-irbati mina arrijali awi attifliallatheena lam yathharoo AAala AAawratiannisa-i wala yadribnabi-arjulihinna liyuAAlama ma yukhfeena min zeenatihinnawatooboo ila Allahi jameeAAan ayyuhaalmu/minoona laAAallakum tuflihoon And say thou to the believing women, that they lower some of their sight, and preserve their chastity, and that they show not their adornment save that apparent of it, and that they draw their coverings over their bosoms and not reveal their adornment save to their husbands, or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or the sons of their brothers, or the sons of their sisters, or their women, or what their right hands possess, or male attendants who have not the resourcefulness of men, or the children not yet aware of a woman’s private parts. And let them not strike their feet to make known what they hide of their adornment. Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 20 - **Form in this verse:** بَادُونَ — bādūna · "living in (the) desert" - **Grammar:** noun · active · masculine, plural · nominative case يَحْسَبُونَ الْاَحْزَابَ لَمْ يَذْهَبُواۚ وَاِنْ يَأْتِ الْاَحْزَابُ يَوَدُّوا لَوْ اَنَّهُمْ بَادُونَ فِي الْاَعْرَابِ يَسْـَٔلُونَ عَنْ اَنْبَٓائِكُمْۜ وَلَوْ كَانُوا ف۪يكُمْ مَا قَاتَلُٓوا اِلَّا قَل۪يلاً۟ Yahsaboona al-ahzabalam yathhaboo wa-in ya/ti al-ahzabu yawaddoolaw annahum badoona fee al-aAArabi yas-aloona AAananba-ikum walaw kanoo feekum ma qatalooilla qaleela They think the parties have not left; and if the parties come, they will wish they were desert-dwellers among the desert Arabs asking for reports of you. Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 37 - **Form in this verse:** مُبْدِيهِ — mub'dīhi · "(was to) disclose" - **Grammar:** noun · pattern of if'al · active · masculine · genitive case وَاِذْ تَقُولُ لِلَّـذ۪ٓي اَنْعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ اَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللّٰهَ وَتُخْف۪ي ف۪ي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللّٰهُ مُبْد۪يهِ وَتَخْشَى النَّاسَۚ وَاللّٰهُ اَحَقُّ اَنْ تَخْشٰيهُۜ فَلَمَّا قَضٰى زَيْدٌ مِنْهَا وَطَراً زَوَّجْنَاكَهَا لِكَيْ لَا يَكُونَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ حَرَجٌ ف۪ٓي اَزْوَاجِ اَدْعِيَٓائِهِمْ اِذَا قَضَوْا مِنْهُنَّ وَطَراًۜ وَكَانَ اَمْرُ اللّٰهِ مَفْعُولاً Wa-ith taqoolu lillatheeanAAama Allahu AAalayhi waanAAamta AAalayhi amsik AAalaykazawjaka wattaqi Allaha watukhfee fee nafsika maAllahu mubdeehi watakhsha annasa wallahuahaqqu an takhshahu falamma qadazaydun minha wataran zawwajnakahalikay la yakoona AAala almu/mineena harajunfee azwaji adAAiya-ihim itha qadawminhunna wataran wakana amru Allahi mafAAoola And when thou saidst to him whom God has favoured, and whom thou hast favoured: “Hold thou thy wife to thee, and be thou in prudent fear of God,” and wast concealing in thyself what God reveals[...]. And thou fearedst men, when God has more right that thou fear Him. Then when Zayd had concluded any need of her, We gave her to thee in marriage, that there be not blame upon the believers concerning the wives of their adopted sons, when they have concluded any need of them. Surah Al-Mumtahanah, Verse 4 - **Form in this verse:** وَبَدَا — wabadā · "and has appeared" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, singular · past tense قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ اُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ ف۪ٓي اِبْرٰه۪يمَ وَالَّذ۪ينَ مَعَهُۚ اِذْ قَالُوا لِقَوْمِهِمْ اِنَّا بُرَءٰٓؤُ۬ا مِنْكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِۘ كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةُ وَالْبَغْضَٓاءُ اَبَداً حَتّٰى تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللّٰهِ وَحْدَهُٓ اِلَّا قَوْلَ اِبْرٰه۪يمَ لِاَب۪يهِ لَاَسْتَغْفِرَنَّ لَكَ وَمَٓا اَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللّٰهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍۜ رَبَّـنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَاِلَيْكَ اَنَبْنَا وَاِلَيْكَ الْمَص۪يرُ Qad kanat lakum oswatun hasanatunfee ibraheema wallatheena maAAahu ithqaloo liqawmihim inna buraao minkum wamimmataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi kafarna bikum wabadabaynana wabaynakumu alAAadawatu walbaghdaoabadan hatta tu/minoo billahi wahdahuilla qawla ibraheema li-abeehi laastaghfiranna lakawama amliku laka mina Allahi min shay-in rabbanaAAalayka tawakkalna wa-ilayka anabna wa-ilayka almaseer There was for you a good model in Abraham and those with him when they said to their people: “We are quit of you and what you serve besides God.
