Wa-ith qala ibraheemurabbi arinee kayfa tuhyee almawta qala awalam tu/min qala bala walakin liyatma-innaqalbee qala fakhuth arbaAAatan mina attayrifasurhunna ilayka thumma ijAAal AAala kulli jabalinminhunna juz-an thumma odAAuhunna ya/teenaka saAAyan waAAlamanna Allaha AAazeezun hakeem

And when Abraham said: “My Lord, show Thou me how Thou wilt give life to the dead,” He said: “Dost thou not believe?” Said he: “Verily, but that my heart should be at rest.” He said: “Take thou four birds, and cause thou them to incline to thee; then place thou a part of them upon each hill; then call thou to them — they will come to thee in haste. And know thou that God is exalted in might and wise.”

Warasoolan ila banee isra-eelaannee qad ji/tukum bi-ayatin min rabbikum annee akhluqulakum mina atteeni kahay-ati attayrifaanfukhu feehi fayakoonu tayran bi-ithni Allahiwaobri-o al-akmaha wal-abrasa waohyeealmawta bi-ithni Allahi waonabbi-okum bimata/kuloona wama taddakhiroona fee buyootikum inna fee thalikalaayatan lakum in kuntum mu/mineen

And as a messenger to the children of Israel: “I have come to you with a proof from your Lord, that I create for you from clay the likeness of a bird; then I blow into it and it becomes a bird by the leave of God. And I heal the blind, and the leper, and give life to the dead by the leave of God. And I inform you of what you eat, and what you store in your houses — in that is a proof for you if you be believers —

Ith qala Allahu yaAAeesa ibna maryama othkur niAAmatee AAalaykawaAAala walidatika ith ayyadtuka biroohialqudusi tukallimu annasa fee almahdi wakahlanwa-ith AAallamtuka alkitaba walhikmatawattawrata wal-injeela wa-ithtakhluqu mina atteeni kahay-ati attayribi-ithnee fatanfukhu feeha fatakoonu tayranbi-ithnee watubri-o al-akmaha wal-abrasabi-ithnee wa-ith tukhriju almawta bi-ithneewa-ith kafaftu banee isra-eela AAanka ithji/tahum bilbayyinati faqala allatheenakafaroo minhum in hatha illa sihrun mubeen

(When God will say: “O Jesus, son of Mary: remember thou My favour to thee and to thy mother: when I strengthened thee with the Spirit of Holiness, thou speaking to men in the cradle and in maturity; and when I taught thee the Writ and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel; and when thou didst create of clay the likeness of a bird by My leave, and blewest into it and it became a bird by My leave, and thou didst heal the blind and the leper by My leave; and when thou broughtest forth the dead by My leave; and when I restrained the children of Israel from thee when thou camest to them with clear signs”; then those who ignored warning among them said: “This is only obvious sorcery”;

Wama min dabbatin fee al-ardiwala ta-irin yateeru bijanahayhi illaomamun amthalukum ma farratna feealkitabi min shay-in thumma ila rabbihim yuhsharoon

And there is no creature in the earth, nor bird flying on its wings save they are communities the likes of you — We have not neglected anything in the Writ — then to their Lord will they be gathered.

Fa-itha jaat-humu alhasanatuqaloo lana hathihi wa-in tusibhumsayyi-atun yattayyaroo bimoosa waman maAAahu alainnama ta-iruhum AAinda Allahi walakinnaaktharahum la yaAAlamoon

And when good came to them, they said: “This is ours.” And if evil befell them, they thought Moses and those with him an evil omen; in truth, their evil omen was but with God, but most of them knew not.

Wadakhala maAAahu assijna fatayaniqala ahaduhuma innee aranee aAAsirukhamran waqala al-akharu innee aranee ahmilufawqa ra/see khubzan ta/kulu attayru minhu nabbi/nabita/weelihi inna naraka mina almuhsineen

And two young men entered the prison with him. One of them said: “I dreamed that I was pressing wine.” And the other said: “I dreamed that I was bearing upon my head bread whereof the birds were eating — inform thou us of the interpretation; we see thou art among the doers of good.”

Ya sahibayi assijniamma ahadukuma fayasqee rabbahu khamranwaamma al-akharu fayuslabu fata/kulu attayrumin ra/sihi qudiya al-amru allathee feehi tastaftiyan

“O my two prison companions: as for one of you: he will pour for his lord wine; and as for the other: he will be crucified, and the birds will eat from his head. Decided is the matter about which you sought opinion.”

### 16. Surah An-Nahl, Verse 79

Alam yaraw ila attayrimusakhkharatin fee jawwi assama-i mayumsikuhunna illa Allahu inna fee thalika laayatinliqawmin yu/minoon

Have they not considered the birds made subject in the air of the sky? There holds them only God; in that are proofs for people who believe.

### 17. Surah Al-Isra, Verse 13

And every man: We have attached his fate to his neck; and We will bring forth for him on the Day of Resurrection a writ which he will find unrolled:

### 21. Surah Al-Anbiya, Verse 79

Fafahhamnaha sulaymanawakullan atayna hukman waAAilman wasakhkharnamaAAa dawooda aljibala yusabbihna wattayrawakunna faAAileen

And We gave understanding of it to Solomon; and to each We gave judgment and knowledge. And We made subject with David the mountains giving glory, and the birds. And We are the doers.

### 22. Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 31

حُنَفَٓاءَ لِلّٰهِ غَيْرَ مُشْرِك۪ينَ بِه۪ۜ وَمَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللّٰهِ فَكَاَنَّمَا خَرَّ مِنَ السَّمَٓاءِ فَتَخْطَفُهُ الطَّيْرُ اَوْ تَهْو۪ي بِهِ الرّ۪يحُ ف۪ي مَكَانٍ سَح۪يقٍ

Hunafaa lillahi ghayramushrikeena bihi waman yushrik billahi fakaannamakharra mina assama-i fatakhtafuhu attayruaw tahwee bihi arreehu fee makanin saheeq

Inclining towards God, not ascribing a partnership to Him. And whoso ascribes a partnership to God, it is as if he had fallen from the sky, then the birds snatch him away, or the wind sweeps him away to a far-off place.

Alam tara anna Allaha yusabbihulahu man fee assamawati wal-ardiwattayru saffatin kullun qadAAalima salatahu watasbeehahu wallahuAAaleemun bima yafAAaloon

Dost thou not see that God, to Him gives glory whoso is in the heavens and the earth, and the birds with wings outstretched? Each, he knows his duty and his glorification; and God knows what they do.

### 27. Surah An-Naml, Verse 16

وَوَرِثَ سُلَيْمٰنُ دَاوُ۫دَ وَقَالَ يَٓا اَيُّهَا النَّاسُ عُلِّمْنَا مَنْطِقَ الطَّيْرِ وَاُو۫ت۪ينَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍۜ اِنَّ هٰذَا لَهُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْمُب۪ينُ

Wawaritha sulaymanu dawoodawaqala ya ayyuha annasuAAullimna mantiqa attayri waooteenamin kulli shay-in inna hatha lahuwa alfadlualmubeen

And Solomon inherited from David; and he said: “O mankind: we have been taught the speech of birds, and have been given of every thing; this is the clear favour.”

### 27. Surah An-Naml, Verse 17
