And We caused the cloud to overshadow you; and We sent down upon you manna and quails: “Eat of the good things that We have provided you.” And they wronged Us not, but they wronged their souls.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooanfiqoo min tayyibati ma kasabtum wamimmaakhrajna lakum mina al-ardi wala tayammamooalkhabeetha minhu tunfiqoona walastum bi-akhitheehiilla an tughmidoo feehi waAAlamoo anna Allahaghaniyyun hameed

O you who heed warning: spend of the good things you have earned, and of what We have brought forth for you from the earth. And resort not to the bad thereof, to spend thereof, when you would not take it save you closed an eye to it; and know that God is free from need and praiseworthy.

Ma kana Allahu liyatharaalmu/mineena AAala ma antum AAalayhi hattayameeza alkhabeetha mina attayyibi wama kanaAllahu liyutliAAakum AAala alghaybi walakinnaAllaha yajtabee min rusulihi man yashao faaminoobillahi warusulihi wa-in tu/minoo watattaqoofalakum ajrun AAatheem

God will not leave the believers in that which you are in until He distinguishes the bad from the good. And God will not apprise you of the Unseen; but God chooses of His messengers whom He wills, so believe in God and His messengers; and if you believe and are in prudent fear, for you is a great reward.

Waatoo alyatama amwalahumwala tatabaddaloo alkhabeetha bittayyibiwala ta/kuloo amwalahum ila amwalikuminnahu kana hooban kabeera

And give the fatherless their property; and exchange not the bad for the good, nor consume their property into your property; that is a great misdeed.

Wa-in khiftum alla tuqsitoo feealyatama fankihoo ma tabalakum mina annisa-i mathna wathulathawarubaAAa fa-in khiftum alla taAAdiloo fawahidatanaw ma malakat aymanukum thalika adnaalla taAAooloo

And if you fear that you will not do justice by the fatherless, then marry what pleases you of women: two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not do justice, then one — or what your right hands possess; that is more likely that you will not deviate.

And give the women their dowries as a gift willingly; but if they remit to you anything of it voluntarily, then consume it with satisfaction and pleasure.

يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاَنْتُمْ سُكَارٰى حَتّٰى تَعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ وَلَا جُنُباً اِلَّا عَابِر۪ي سَب۪يلٍ حَتّٰى تَغْتَسِلُواۜ وَاِنْ كُنْتُمْ مَرْضٰٓى اَوْ عَلٰى سَفَرٍ اَوْ جَٓاءَ اَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ مِنَ الْغَٓائِطِ اَوْ لٰمَسْتُمُ النِّسَٓاءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا مَٓاءً فَتَيَمَّمُوا صَع۪يداً طَيِّباً فَامْسَحُوا بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَاَيْد۪يكُمْۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَفُواًّ غَفُوراً

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola taqraboo assalata waantum sukarahatta taAAlamoo ma taqooloona walajunuban illa AAabiree sabeelin hattataghtasiloo wa-in kuntum marda aw AAala safarin awjaa ahadun minkum mina algha-iti aw lamastumuannisaa falam tajidoo maan fatayammamoo saAAeedantayyiban famsahoo biwujoohikum waaydeekuminna Allaha kana AAafuwwan ghafoora

O you who heed warning: approach not the duty when you are intoxicated until you understand what you say; nor when you are unclean (save passing by upon the path), until you wash. And if you were ill, or on a journey, or one of you comes from the privy, or you have lain with women, then find not water: resort to clean soil, and wipe your faces and your hands; God is pardoning and forgiving.

So, for injustice among those who hold to Judaism, We made unlawful to them good things which had been lawful to them, and for their turning away from the path of God much,

Yas-aloonaka matha ohilla lahumqul ohilla lakumu attayyibatu wamaAAallamtum mina aljawarihi mukallibeenatuAAallimoonahunna mimma AAallamakumu Allahufakuloo mimma amsakna AAalaykum wathkurooisma Allahi AAalayhi wattaqoo Allaha innaAllaha sareeAAu alhisab

They ask thee what is made lawful for them. Say thou: “Made lawful for you are good things; and what you have trained of animals of prey as trainers teaching them of what God taught you — eat of what they catch for you, and remember the name of God over it. And be in prudent fear of God; God is swift in reckoning.”

اَلْيَوْمَ اُحِلَّ لَكُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتُۜ وَطَعَامُ الَّذ۪ينَ اُو۫تُوا الْكِتَابَ حِلٌّ لَكُمْۖ وَطَعَامُكُمْ حِلٌّ لَهُمْۘ وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ الَّذ۪ينَ اُو۫تُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ اِذَٓا اٰتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ اُجُورَهُنَّ مُحْصِن۪ينَ غَيْرَ مُسَافِح۪ينَ وَلَا مُتَّخِذ۪ٓي اَخْدَانٍۜ وَمَنْ يَكْفُرْ بِالْا۪يمَانِ فَقَدْ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُۘ وَهُوَ فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِر۪ينَ۟

Alyawma ohilla lakumu attayyibatuwataAAamu allatheena ootoo alkitaba hillunlakum wataAAamukum hillun lahum walmuhsanatumina almu/minati walmuhsanatu minaallatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum itha ataytumoohunnaojoorahunna muhsineena ghayra musafiheenawala muttakhithee akhdanin waman yakfur bil-eemanifaqad habita AAamaluhu wahuwa fee al-akhiratimina alkhasireen

This day are good things made lawful for you; and the food of those given the Writ is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them, as are chaste women among the believing women and chaste women among those given the Writ before you, when you have given them their dowries, being chaste and not fornicators, nor taking secret friends. And whoso denies the faith: his work has been in vain, and he in the Hereafter is among the losers.

يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُٓوا اِذَا قُمْتُمْ اِلَى الصَّلٰوةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ وَاَيْدِيَكُمْ اِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ وَامْسَحُوا بِرُؤُ۫سِكُمْ وَاَرْجُلَكُمْ اِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِۜ وَاِنْ كُنْتُمْ جُنُباً فَاطَّهَّرُواۜ وَاِنْ كُنْتُمْ مَرْضٰٓى اَوْ عَلٰى سَفَرٍ اَوْ جَٓاءَ اَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ مِنَ الْغَٓائِطِ اَوْ لٰمَسْتُمُ النِّسَٓاءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا مَٓاءً فَتَيَمَّمُوا صَع۪يداً طَيِّباً فَامْسَحُوا بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَاَيْد۪يكُمْ مِنْهُۜ مَا يُر۪يدُ اللّٰهُ لِيَجْعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ حَرَجٍ وَلٰكِنْ يُر۪يدُ لِيُطَهِّرَكُمْ وَلِيُتِمَّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooitha qumtum ila assalati faghsiloowujoohakum waaydiyakum ila almarafiqi wamsahoobiruoosikum waarjulakum ila alkaAAbayni wa-in kuntumjunuban fattahharoo wa-in kuntum marda awAAala safarin aw jaa ahadun minkum mina algha-itiaw lamastumu annisaa falam tajidoo maanfatayammamoo saAAeedan tayyiban famsahoobiwujoohikum waaydeekum minhu ma yureedu AllahuliyajAAala AAalaykum min harajin walakin yureeduliyutahhirakum waliyutimma niAAmatahu AAalaykumlaAAallakum tashkuroon

O you who heed warning: when you rise up for the duty: wash your faces, and your hands to the elbows, and wipe your heads, and your feet to the ankles. And if you are unclean, purify yourselves. And if you were ill, or on a journey, or one of you came from the privy, or you have lain with women, then find not water: resort to clean soil, and wipe your faces and your hands with it. God wishes not to place any distress upon you; but He wishes to purify you and to complete His favour upon you, that you might be grateful.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tuharrimoo tayyibati ma ahallaAllahu lakum wala taAAtadoo inna Allaha layuhibbu almuAAtadeen

O you who heed warning: forbid not the good things that God has made lawful for you; and transgress not; God loves not the transgressors.

Qul la yastawee alkhabeethu wattayyibuwalaw aAAjabaka kathratu alkhabeethi fattaqoo Allahaya olee al-albabi laAAallakum tuflihoon

Say thou: “Not the same are the bad and the good, although there impress thee the abundance of the bad.” So be in prudent fear of God, O you men of understanding, that you might be successful.

قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ ز۪ينَةَ اللّٰهِ الَّت۪ٓي اَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِه۪ وَالطَّيِّبَاتِ مِنَ الرِّزْقِۜ قُلْ هِيَ لِلَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا فِي الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِۜ  كَذٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْاٰيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ

Qul man harrama zeenata Allahiallatee akhraja liAAibadihi wattayyibatimina arrizqi qul hiya lillatheena amanoofee alhayati addunya khalisatanyawma alqiyamati kathalika nufassilu al-ayatiliqawmin yaAAlamoon

Say thou: “Who has made unlawful the adornment of God which He brought forth for His servants, and the good things of provision?” Say thou: “These are for those who heed warning in the life of this world exclusively on the Day of Resurrection.” Thus do We set out and detail the proofs for people who know.

### 7. Surah Al-A'raf, Verse 58

Walbaladu attayyibuyakhruju nabatuhu bi-ithni rabbihi wallatheekhabutha la yakhruju illa nakidan kathalikanusarrifu al-ayati liqawmin yashkuroon

And the good land: its vegetation comes forth by the leave of its Lord; and what is bad comes not forth save with difficulty. Thus do We expound the proofs for people who are grateful.

اَلَّذ۪ينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الْاُمِّيَّ الَّذ۪ي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوباً عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرٰيةِ وَالْاِنْج۪يلِۘ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهٰيهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَٓائِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ اِصْرَهُمْ وَالْاَغْلَالَ الَّت۪ي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْۜ فَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا بِه۪ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّورَ الَّـذ۪ٓي اُنْزِلَ مَعَهُٓۙ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ۟

Allatheena yattabiAAoona arrasoolaannabiyya al-ommiyya allathee yajidoonahumaktooban AAindahum fee attawrati wal-injeeliya/muruhum bilmaAAroofi wayanhahum AAani almunkariwayuhillu lahumu attayyibati wayuharrimuAAalayhimu alkhaba-itha wayadaAAu AAanhum israhumwal-aghlala allatee kanat AAalayhim fallatheenaamanoo bihi waAAazzaroohu wanasaroohu wattabaAAooannoora allathee onzila maAAahu ola-ikahumu almuflihoon

“Those who follow the Messenger, the unschooled prophet, whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins on them what is fitting and forbids them perversity, and making lawful for them the good things, and making unlawful for them the bad, and relieving them of their burden and the fetters that were upon them — those who believed in him, and supported him, and helped him, and followed the light which was sent down with him: it is they who are the successful.”

WaqattaAAnahumu ithnatayAAashrata asbatan omaman waawhayna ilamoosa ithi istasqahu qawmuhu ani idribbiAAasaka alhajara fanbajasat minhu ithnataAAashrata AAaynan qad AAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum wathallalnaAAalayhimu alghamama waanzalna AAalayhimu almannawassalwa kuloo min tayyibati marazaqnakum wama thalamoona walakinkanoo anfusahum yathlimoon

And We divided them into twelve tribes as communities. And We instructed Moses when his people sought water of him: “Strike thou with thy staff the rock”; and there gushed therefrom twelve springs — each people knew its drinking-place. And We caused the cloud to overshadow them, and sent down upon them manna and quails: “Eat of the good things that We provided you.” And they wronged Us not, but they wronged their souls.

And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that the people would snatch you away, but He gave you refuge, and strengthened you with His help, and provided you with good things, that you might be grateful.

And God has promised the believing men and the believing women gardens beneath which rivers flow — they abiding eternally therein — and goodly dwellings in gardens of perpetual abode; and approval from God is greater; that is the Great Achievement.

Huwa allathee yusayyirukum feealbarri walbahri hatta ithakuntum fee alfulki wajarayna bihim bireehin tayyibatinwafarihoo biha jaat-ha reehunAAasifun wajaahumu almawju min kulli makaninwathannoo annahum oheeta bihimdaAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu addeenala-in anjaytana min hathihi lanakoonanna mina ashshakireen

He it is that lets you travel in the earth and the sea; when you have boarded ships and sailed by them with a good breeze and exulted thereat–– A tempest wind came upon them, and the waves came on them from every side, and they thought they were encompassed therein; they called to God, sincere to Him in doctrine: “If Thou deliver us from this, we will be among the grateful!”

And We settled the children of Israel in a goodly settlement, and provided them with good things; and they differed not until knowledge came to them. Thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that wherein they differed.

And God has appointed for you from yourselves wives, and has appointed for you from your wives sons and grandsons, and has provided you of good things. Is it then in vanity that they believe, and the favour of God they deny

Whoso works righteousness, whether male or female, and is a believer: him will We make live a good life; and We will reward them according to the best of what they did.

اَلْخَب۪يثَاتُ لِلْخَب۪يث۪ينَ وَالْخَب۪يثُونَ لِلْخَب۪يثَاتِۚ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ لِلطَّيِّب۪ينَ وَالطَّيِّبُونَ لِلطَّيِّبَاتِۚ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ مُبَرَّؤُ۫نَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَۜ  لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَر۪يمٌ۟

Alkhabeethatu lilkhabeetheena walkhabeethoonalilkhabeethati wattayyibatu littayyibeenawattayyiboona littayyibatiola-ika mubarraoona mimma yaqooloona lahummaghfiratun warizqun kareem

Bad women are for bad men, and bad men are for bad women. And good women are for good men, and good men are for good women.) Those are acquitted of what they said: for them are pardon and a noble provision.

### 24. Surah An-Nur, Verse 61

لَيْسَ عَلَى الْاَعْمٰى حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَى الْاَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَى الْمَر۪يضِ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلٰٓى اَنْفُسِكُمْ اَنْ تَأْكُلُوا مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اٰبَٓائِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اُمَّهَاتِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اِخْوَانِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اَخَوَاتِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اَعْمَامِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ عَمَّاتِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ اَخْوَالِكُمْ اَوْ بُيُوتِ خَالَاتِكُمْ اَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُٓ اَوْ صَد۪يقِكُمْۜ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ اَنْ تَأْكُلُوا جَم۪يعاً اَوْ اَشْتَاتاًۜ فَاِذَا دَخَلْتُمْ بُيُوتاً فَسَلِّمُوا عَلٰٓى اَنْفُسِكُمْ تَحِيَّةً مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ مُبَارَكَةً طَيِّبَةًۜ كَذٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللّٰهُ لَكُمُ الْاٰيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ۟

Laysa AAala al-aAAma harajunwala AAala al-aAAraji harajun walaAAala almareedi harajun wala AAalaanfusikum an ta/kuloo min buyootikum aw buyooti aba-ikumaw buyooti ommahatikum aw buyooti ikhwanikum awbuyooti akhawatikum aw buyooti aAAmamikum awbuyooti AAammatikum aw buyooti akhwalikum awbuyooti khalatikum aw ma malaktum mafatihahuaw sadeeqikum laysa AAalaykum junahun an ta/kuloojameeAAan aw ashtatan fa-itha dakhaltum buyootanfasallimoo AAala anfusikum tahiyyatan min AAindiAllahi mubarakatan tayyibatan kathalikayubayyinu Allahu lakumu al-ayati laAAallakumtaAAqiloon

No blame is there upon the blind, nor any blame upon the lame, nor any blame upon the sick, nor upon yourselves, that you eat of your houses, or the houses of your fathers, or the houses of your mothers, or the houses of your brothers, or the houses of your sisters, or the houses of your paternal uncles, or the houses of your paternal aunts, or the houses of your maternal uncles, or the houses of your maternal aunts, or that whereof you hold the keys, or of your friend; you do no wrong to eat together or separately. But when you enter houses, greet one another with a greeting from God, blessed and good. Thus God makes plain to you the proofs, that you might use reason.

### 34. Surah Saba, Verse 15

There was for Saba’ a proof in their dwelling-place: — two gardens, on the right hand and on the left — “Eat of the provision of your Lord, and be grateful to Him. A good land and a forgiving Lord!”

Man kana yureedu alAAizzata falillahialAAizzatu jameeAAan ilayhi yasAAadu alkalimu attayyibuwalAAamalu assalihu yarfaAAuhu wallatheenayamkuroona assayyi-ati lahum AAathabunshadeedun wamakru ola-ika huwa yaboor

Whoso desires power and glory: power and glory belong to God altogether. To Him the good word ascends, and the righteous deed raises it; but those who plot evil deeds: they have a severe punishment; and the scheme of those, it will perish.

### 39. Surah Az-Zumar, Verse 73

And those who were in prudent fear of their Lord will be driven towards the Garden in companies. When they have come to it and the gates thereof have been opened[...]. And the keepers thereof will say to them: “Peace be upon you! You did well; so enter it, abiding eternally.”

God it is who made for you the earth a fixed lodging, and the sky a structure, and formed you and made good your forms, and provided you with good things. That is God, your Lord; so blessed be God, the Lord of All Creation!

Wayawma yuAAradu allatheenakafaroo AAala annari athhabtum tayyibatikumfee hayatikumu addunya wastamtaAAtumbiha falyawma tujzawna AAathaba alhooni bimakuntum tastakbiroona fee al-ardi bighayri alhaqqiwabima kuntum tafsuqoon

And the day those who ignore warning are exposed to the Fire: “You received your good things in the life of this world, and you took pleasure therein; so this day will you be rewarded with the punishment of humiliation because you waxed proud in the earth without right, and because you were perfidious.”

### 61. Surah As-Saf, Verse 12

Yaghfir lakum thunoobakumwayudkhilkum jannatin tajree min tahtihaal-anharu wamasakina tayyibatan fee jannatiAAadnin thalika alfawzu alAAatheem

(He will forgive you your transgressions, and make you enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, and goodly dwellings in gardens of perpetual abode. That is the Great Achievement.)
