Wa-ith qala ibraheemurabbi arinee kayfa tuhyee almawta qala awalam tu/min qala bala walakin liyatma-innaqalbee qala fakhuth arbaAAatan mina attayrifasurhunna ilayka thumma ijAAal AAala kulli jabalinminhunna juz-an thumma odAAuhunna ya/teenaka saAAyan waAAlamanna Allaha AAazeezun hakeem

And when Abraham said: “My Lord, show Thou me how Thou wilt give life to the dead,” He said: “Dost thou not believe?” Said he: “Verily, but that my heart should be at rest.” He said: “Take thou four birds, and cause thou them to incline to thee; then place thou a part of them upon each hill; then call thou to them — they will come to thee in haste. And know thou that God is exalted in might and wise.”

### 3. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 126

(And God made it not save as glad tidings for you, and that your hearts might be reassured thereby; and there is no help save from God, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.)

### 4. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 103

Fa-itha qadaytumu assalatafathkuroo Allaha qiyaman waquAAoodanwaAAala junoobikum fa-itha itma/nantumfaaqeemoo assalata inna assalatakanat AAala almu/mineena kitaban mawqoota

And when you have concluded the duty, remember God standing, and sitting, and upon your sides, and when you are at ease; but uphold the duty — the duty is upon the believers a time-limited Writ —

### 5. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 113

They said: “We wish to eat thereof and our hearts to be at rest, and to know that thou hast spoken truth to us, and to be among the witnesses thereto.”

### 8. Surah Al-Anfal, Verse 10

Those who look not for the meeting with Us, and are pleased with the life of this world and are at rest therein, and those who are heedless of Our proofs,

مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللّٰهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ ا۪يمَانِه۪ٓ اِلَّا مَنْ اُكْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُ مُطْمَئِنٌّ بِالْا۪يمَانِ وَلٰكِنْ مَنْ شَرَحَ بِالْكُفْرِ صَدْراً فَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ مِنَ اللّٰهِۚ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظ۪يمٌ

Man kafara billahi minbaAAdi eemanihi illa man okriha waqalbuhu mutma-innunbil-eemani walakin man sharaha bilkufrisadran faAAalayhim ghadabun mina Allahiwalahum AAathabun AAatheem

Whoso denies God after his faith[...] — save he who is compelled thereto but whose heart finds rest in faith; but whoso expands his breast to denial, upon them is wrath from God; and they have a great punishment.

### 16. Surah An-Nahl, Verse 112

وَضَرَبَ اللّٰهُ مَثَلاً قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ اٰمِنَةً مُطْمَئِنَّةً يَأْت۪يهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَداً مِنْ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِاَنْعُمِ اللّٰهِ فَاَذَاقَهَا اللّٰهُ لِبَاسَ الْجُوعِ وَالْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَ

Wadaraba Allahu mathalanqaryatan kanat aminatan mutma-innatanya/teeha rizquha raghadan min kulli makaninfakafarat bi-anAAumi Allahi faathaqaha Allahulibasa aljooAAi walkhawfi bima kanooyasnaAAoon

And God strikes a similitude: — a city secure, at peace, its provision coming to it in abundance from every side; but it denied the favours of God, then God let it taste the cloak of hunger and fear because of what they wrought.

### 17. Surah Al-Isra, Verse 95

Qul law kana fee al-ardi mala-ikatunyamshoona mutma-inneena lanazzalna AAalayhim mina assama-imalakan rasoola

Say thou: “Had there been in the earth angels walking securely, We would have sent down upon them from the sky an angel as messenger.”

### 22. Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 11

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَعْبُدُ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى حَرْفٍۚ فَاِنْ اَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌۨ اطْمَاَنَّ بِه۪ۚ وَاِنْ اَصَابَتْهُ فِتْنَةٌۨ انْقَلَبَ عَلٰى وَجْهِه۪۠ خَسِرَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةَۜ ذٰلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُب۪ينُ

Wamina annasi man yaAAbuduAllaha AAala harfin fa-in asabahukhayrun itmaanna bihi wa-in asabat-hu fitnatuninqalaba AAala wajhihi khasira addunya wal-akhiratathalika huwa alkhusranu almubeen

And among men is he who serves God upon an edge: if good befalls him he is assuaged thereby, but if a means of denial befalls him he makes an about-face; he has lost the World and the Hereafter. That is the clear loss.

### 89. Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 27
