- **Meaning:** To put to death by crucifixion, extract marrow from bones. Salb - a well known way of killing, crucifying. Salabahuu - he put him to death in a certain well known manner, he crucified. Aslaab (pl. of sulbun) - backbones, loins. Masluub - crucified. Saliibun - put to death in a certain well known manner.

Hurrimat AAalaykum ommahatukumwabanatukum waakhawatukum waAAammatukum wakhalatukumwabanatu al-akhi wabanatu al-okhti waommahatukumuallatee ardaAAnakum waakhawatukum mina arradaAAatiwaommahatu nisa-ikum waraba-ibukumu allateefee hujoorikum min nisa-ikumu allateedakhaltum bihinna fa-in lam takoonoo dakhaltum bihinna falajunaha AAalaykum wahala-ilu abna-ikumuallatheena min aslabikum waan tajmaAAoobayna al-okhtayni illa ma qad salafa inna Allahakana ghafooran raheema

Forbidden to you are your mothers, and your daughters, and your sisters, and your paternal aunts, and your maternal aunts, and the daughters of your brother, and the daughters of your sister, and your milk-mothers, and your milk-sisters, and the mothers of your wives, and your step-daughters under your protection from your wives unto whom you have gone in (and if you have gone not in unto them, then there is no wrong upon you) and the wives of your sons of your loins, and that you bring two sisters together, save what is past; God is forgiving and merciful;

### 4. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 157

Waqawlihim inna qatalnaalmaseeha AAeesa ibna maryama rasoola Allahiwama qataloohu wama salaboohu walakinshubbiha lahum wa-inna allatheena ikhtalafoo feehi lafeeshakkin minhu ma lahum bihi min AAilmin illa ittibaAAaaththanni wama qataloohu yaqeena

And for their saying: “We killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of God,” — and they killed him not nor crucified him, but it seemed so to them; and those who dispute concerning it are in doubt thereof, no knowledge have they thereof save the pursuit of conjecture — and they killed him not of a certainty;

Innama jazao allatheenayuhariboona Allaha warasoolahu wayasAAawna feeal-ardi fasadan an yuqattaloo aw yusallabooaw tuqattaAAa aydeehim waarjuluhum min khilafin awyunfaw mina al-ardi thalika lahum khizyun fee addunyawalahum fee al-akhirati AAathabun AAatheem

The reward but of those who war against God and His messenger, and strive to work corruption in the land, that they be killed, or they be crucified, or their hands and feet be cut off on opposite sides, or they be banished from the land. That[...]. They have disgrace in the World; and they have in the Hereafter a great punishment

“O my two prison companions: as for one of you: he will pour for his lord wine; and as for the other: he will be crucified, and the birds will eat from his head. Decided is the matter about which you sought opinion.”

### 20. Surah Taha, Verse 71

Qala amantum lahu qabla an athanalakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu assihrafalaoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafinwalaosallibannakum fee juthooAAi annakhliwalataAAlamunna ayyuna ashaddu AAathaban waabqa

Said he: “You have believed him before I gave you leave. He is your chief who taught you sorcery; then will I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and crucify you on the trunks of date-palms; and you will know which of us is severer in punishment and more enduring.”

### 86. Surah At-Tariq, Verse 7
