Surah Al-A'raf, Verse 143 - **Form in this verse:** صَعِقًۭا ۚ — ṣaʿiqan · "unconscious" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case · indefinite وَلَمَّا جَٓاءَ مُوسٰى لِم۪يقَاتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُ رَبُّهُۙ قَالَ رَبِّ اَرِن۪ٓي اَنْظُرْ اِلَيْكَۜ قَالَ لَنْ تَرٰين۪ي وَلٰكِنِ انْظُرْ اِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَاِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُ فَسَوْفَ تَرٰين۪يۚ فَلَمَّا تَجَلّٰى رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَكاًّ وَخَرَّ مُوسٰى صَعِقاًۚ فَلَمَّٓا اَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ تُبْتُ اِلَيْكَ وَاَنَا۬ اَوَّلُ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ Walamma jaa moosalimeeqatina wakallamahu rabbuhu qala rabbiarinee anthur ilayka qala lan taraneewalakini onthur ila aljabali fa-iniistaqarra makanahu fasawfa taranee falammatajalla rabbuhu liljabali jaAAalahu dakkan wakharra moosasaAAiqan falamma afaqa qala subhanakatubtu ilayka waana awwalu almu/mineen And when Moses came at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said: “My Lord: show Thou me that I might look upon Thee.” Said He: “Thou wilt not see Me; but look thou upon the mountain: if it should remain in its place, then thou wilt see Me.” And when his Lord was revealed upon the mountain, He made it level; and Moses fell down thunderstruck. Surah Az-Zumar, Verse 68 - **Form in this verse:** فَصَعِقَ — faṣaʿiqa · "then (will) fall dead" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, singular · past tense وَنُفِـخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَصَعِقَ مَنْ فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا مَنْ شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُۚ ثُمَّ نُفِـخَ ف۪يهِ اُخْرٰى فَاِذَا هُمْ قِيَامٌ يَنْظُرُونَ Wanufikha fee assoori fasaAAiqaman fee assamawati waman fee al-ardiilla man shaa Allahu thumma nufikha feehiokhra fa-itha hum qiyamun yanthuroon And the Trumpet will be blown, and whoso is in the heavens and whoso is in the earth will fall down thunderstruck save whom God wills.
