Ma kana ibraheemuyahoodiyyan wala nasraniyyan walakinkana haneefan musliman wama kana minaalmushrikeen

Abraham was neither one who holds to Judaism, nor a Christian, but was inclining to truth as one submitting; and he was not of the idolaters.

Waman ahsanu deenan mimman aslamawajhahu lillahi wahuwa muhsinun wattabaAAamillata ibraheema haneefan wattakhathaAllahu ibraheema khaleela

And who is better in doctrine than he who submits his face to God, and is a doer of good, and follows the creed of Abraham, inclining to truth? And God took Abraham as a friend.

Say thou: “As for me, my Lord has guided me to a straight path, a right doctrine, the creed of Abraham, inclining to truth; and he was not of the idolaters.”

Then We instructed thee: “Follow thou the creed of Abraham, inclining to truth; and he was not of the idolaters.”

### 22. Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 31

حُنَفَٓاءَ لِلّٰهِ غَيْرَ مُشْرِك۪ينَ بِه۪ۜ وَمَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللّٰهِ فَكَاَنَّمَا خَرَّ مِنَ السَّمَٓاءِ فَتَخْطَفُهُ الطَّيْرُ اَوْ تَهْو۪ي بِهِ الرّ۪يحُ ف۪ي مَكَانٍ سَح۪يقٍ

Hunafaa lillahi ghayramushrikeena bihi waman yushrik billahi fakaannamakharra mina assama-i fatakhtafuhu attayruaw tahwee bihi arreehu fee makanin saheeq

Inclining towards God, not ascribing a partnership to Him. And whoso ascribes a partnership to God, it is as if he had fallen from the sky, then the birds snatch him away, or the wind sweeps him away to a far-off place.

### 30. Surah Ar-Rum, Verse 30

فَاَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدّ۪ينِ حَن۪يفاًۜ فِطْرَتَ اللّٰهِ الَّت۪ي فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَاۜ لَا تَبْد۪يلَ لِخَلْقِ اللّٰهِۜ ذٰلِكَ الدّ۪ينُ الْقَيِّمُۗ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَۗ

Faaqim wajhaka liddeeni haneefanfitrata Allahi allatee fatara annasaAAalayha la tabdeela likhalqi Allahi thalikaaddeenu alqayyimu walakinna akthara annasila yaAAlamoon

So set thou thy face towards the doctrine, inclining to truth: — the nature of God with which He created people — (there is no changing the creation of God) that is the right doctrine, (but most men know not)

### 98. Surah Al-Bayyinah, Verse 5

وَمَٓا اُمِرُٓوا اِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مُخْلِص۪ينَ لَهُ الدّ۪ينَ حُنَفَٓاءَ وَيُق۪يمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكٰوةَ وَذٰلِكَ د۪ينُ الْقَيِّمَةِۜ

Wama omiroo illa liyaAAbudooAllaha mukhliseena lahu addeena hunafaawayuqeemoo assalata wayu/too azzakatawathalika deenu alqayyima

And they were commanded only to serve God, sincere to Him in doctrine, inclining to truth; and to uphold the duty, and to render the purity — and that is the doctrine of the upright.
