Wa-ith qala rabbuka lilmala-ikatiinnee jaAAilun fee al-ardi khaleefatan qalooatajAAalu feeha man yufsidu feeha wayasfiku addimaawanahnu nusabbihu bihamdika wanuqaddisu lakaqala innee aAAlamu ma la taAAlamoon

And when thy Lord said to the angels: “I am placing in the earth a successor,” they said: “Wilt Thou place therein one who will do harm therein, and shed blood, while we give glory with Thy praise and hallow Thee?” He said: “I know what you know not.”

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooanfiqoo min tayyibati ma kasabtum wamimmaakhrajna lakum mina al-ardi wala tayammamooalkhabeetha minhu tunfiqoona walastum bi-akhitheehiilla an tughmidoo feehi waAAlamoo anna Allahaghaniyyun hameed

O you who heed warning: spend of the good things you have earned, and of what We have brought forth for you from the earth. And resort not to the bad thereof, to spend thereof, when you would not take it save you closed an eye to it; and know that God is free from need and praiseworthy.

Think not those who exult at what they have accomplished, and love to be praised for what they have not done[...]. And think them not in a place of safety from the punishment; and they have a painful punishment.

Walillahi ma fee assamawatiwama fee al-ardi walaqad wassaynaallatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum wa-iyyakumani ittaqoo Allaha wa-in takfuroo fa-inna lillahi mafee assamawati wama fee al-ardiwakana Allahu ghaniyyan hameeda

And to God belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; and We have enjoined those given the Writ before you, and you yourselves, that you be in prudent fear of God. And if you deny, then to God belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; and God is free from need and praiseworthy.

Praise belongs to God who created the heavens and the earth and made darkness and the light! Then those who ignore warning ascribe equals to their Lord.

WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihimmin ghillin tajree min tahtihimu al-anharu waqalooalhamdu lillahi allathee hadanalihatha wama kunna linahtadiya lawlaan hadana Allahu laqad jaat rusulurabbina bilhaqqi wanoodoo an tilkumualjannatu oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloon

And We will remove any rancour from their hearts; there flow beneath them rivers; and they will say: “Praise belongs to God who has guided us to this! And we would not have been guided had not God guided us. The messengers of our Lord came with the truth.” And they will be called: “That is the Garden which you are made to inherit for what you did.”

The repentant, the serving, those praising, those journeying, the lowly, those submitting, those enjoining what is fitting, and those forbidding perversity, and the keepers of the limits of God[...]; and bear thou glad tidings to the believers.

Their supplication therein will be: “Glory be to Thee, O God!” and their greeting therein will be: “Peace!” And the end of their supplication will be: “Praise belongs to God, the Lord of All Creation!”

They said: “Dost thou marvel at the command of God? The mercy of God and His blessings be upon you, people of the house; He is praiseworthy and glorious.”

### 13. Surah Ar-Ra'd, Verse 13

Wayusabbihu arraAAdu bihamdihiwalmala-ikatu min kheefatihi wayursilu assawaAAiqafayuseebu biha man yashao wahum yujadiloonafee Allahi wahuwa shadeedu almihal

And the thunder gives glory with His praise, as do the angels, in fear of Him. And He sends the thunderbolts, and strikes therewith whom He wills. And they dispute concerning God; and He is strong in assault.

alif lām rā A Writ We have sent down to thee, that thou bring forth mankind out of darkness into the light, by the leave of their Lord, to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,

Daraba Allahu mathalan AAabdanmamlookan la yaqdiru AAala shay-in waman razaqnahuminna rizqan hasanan fahuwa yunfiqu minhu sirranwajahran hal yastawoona alhamdu lillahi balaktharuhum la yaAAlamoon

God strikes a similitude: — a slave owned, not having power over anything, and him whom We provided with goodly provision from Us and he spends thereof secretly and openly. Are they equal? Praise belongs to God! But most of them know not.

Tusabbihu lahu assamawatuassabAAu wal-ardu waman feehinna wa-in minshay-in illa yusabbihu bihamdihi walakinla tafqahoona tasbeehahum innahu kana haleemanghafoora

The seven heavens and the earth and whoso is in them glorify Him; nothing is save that gives glory with His praise, but you understand not their glorification; He is clement and forgiving.

And some of the night, keep thou vigil with it, as an addition for thee; it may be that thy Lord will raise thee to a praised station.

And say thou: “Praise belongs to God who has not taken a son, and who has no partner in dominion, nor ally from weakness,” and magnify thou Him with glorification.

Fasbir AAala mayaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAiashshamsi waqabla ghuroobiha wamin ana-iallayli fasabbih waatrafa annaharilaAAallaka tarda

So be thou patient over what they say, and give thou glory with the praise of thy Lord before the rising of the sun, and before its setting. And some periods of the night give thou glory; and at the ends of the day, that thou mightest be satisfied.

فَاِذَا اسْتَوَيْتَ اَنْتَ وَمَنْ مَعَكَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذ۪ي نَجّٰينَا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِم۪ينَ

Fa-itha istawayta anta waman maAAakaAAala alfulki faquli alhamdu lillahi allatheenajjana mina alqawmi aththalimeen

“And when thou art seated — thou and whoso is with thee — upon the ship, say thou: ‘Praise belongs to God who has delivered us from the wrongdoing people.’”

Praise belongs to God, Originator of the Heavens and the Earth who made the angels messengers having wings: two, three, and four! He increases in creation what He wills; God is over all things powerful.

God has struck a similitude: — a man concerning whom are partners quarrelling, and a man in submission to one man. Are they equal in likeness? Praise belongs to God! The truth is, most of them know not.

Allatheena yahmiloona alAAarshawaman hawlahu yusabbihoona bihamdi rabbihimwayu/minoona bihi wayastaghfiroona lillatheena amanoorabbana wasiAAta kulla shay-in rahmatan waAAilmanfaghfir lillatheena taboo wattabaAAoosabeelaka waqihim AAathaba aljaheem

Those who bear the Throne and those round about it give glory with the praise of their Lord, and believe in Him, and ask forgiveness for those who heed warning: “Our Lord: Thou encompassest all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive Thou those who have repented and followed Thy path, and protect Thou them from the punishment of Hell!

The heavens are nigh rent from above themselves, and the angels give glory with the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those upon the earth. In truth, God, He is the Forgiver, the Merciful.

وَهُوَ الَّذ۪ي يُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا قَنَطُوا وَيَنْشُرُ رَحْمَتَهُۜ  وَهُوَ الْوَلِيُّ الْحَم۪يدُ

Wahuwa allathee yunazzilu alghaythamin baAAdi ma qanatoo wayanshuru rahmatahuwahuwa alwaliyyu alhameed

And He it is that sends down the rain after they have despaired, and unfurls His mercy; and He is the Ally, the Praiseworthy.

There was for you in them a good model for one who hopes for God and the Last Day. And whoso turns away: — God, He is the Free from Need, the Praiseworthy.

Thalika bi-annahu kanatta/teehim rusuluhum bilbayyinati faqalooabasharun yahdoonana fakafaroo watawallaw wastaghnaAllahu wallahu ghaniyyun hameed

For it is that when their messengers brought them clear signs: — and they said: “Shall mortals guide us?” — then they denied and turned away! But God is self-sufficient; and God is free from need and praiseworthy.

### 85. Surah Al-Buruj, Verse 8
