Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 25 - **Form in this verse:** وَعَمِلُوا۟ — waʿamilū · "and do" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, plural · past tense وَبَشِّرِ الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ اَنَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْر۪ي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهَارُۜ كُلَّمَا رُزِقُوا مِنْهَا مِنْ ثَمَرَةٍ رِزْقاًۙ قَالُوا هٰذَا الَّذ۪ي رُزِقْنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَاُتُوا بِه۪ مُتَشَابِهاًۜ وَلَهُمْ ف۪يهَٓا اَزْوَاجٌ مُطَهَّرَةٌ وَهُمْ ف۪يهَا خَالِدُونَ Wabashshiri allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati anna lahum jannatintajree min tahtiha al-anharu kullamaruziqoo minha min thamaratin rizqan qaloo hathaallathee ruziqna min qablu waotoo bihi mutashabihanwalahum feeha azwajun mutahharatun wahumfeeha khalidoon And bear thou glad tidings to those who heed warning and do righteous deeds, that they have gardens beneath which rivers flow; whenever they are provided with the fruit thereof they say: “This is what we were provided with before”; and they are given thereby a likeness; and they have therein purified spouses; and they abide therein eternally. _https://quran.so/surah-al-baqarah/verse-25.md_ ### 2. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 74 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense ثُمَّ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ ذٰلِكَ فَهِيَ كَالْحِجَارَةِ اَوْ اَشَدُّ قَسْوَةًۜ وَاِنَّ مِنَ الْحِجَارَةِ لَمَا يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُ الْاَنْهَارُۜ وَاِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَشَّقَّقُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ الْمَٓاءُۜ وَاِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَهْبِطُ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللّٰهِۜ وَمَا اللّٰهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ Thumma qasat quloobukum min baAAdi thalikafahiya kalhijarati aw ashaddu qaswatanwa-inna mina alhijarati lama yatafajjaruminhu al-anharu wa-inna minha lamayashshaqqaqu fayakhruju minhu almao wa-inna minhalama yahbitu min khashyati Allahi wamaAllahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloon Then your hearts became hardened after that; and they are like stones or harder. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 85 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense ثُمَّ اَنْتُمْ هٰٓؤُ۬لَٓاءِ تَقْتُلُونَ اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَتُخْرِجُونَ فَر۪يقاً مِنْكُمْ مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْۘ تَظَاهَرُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِالْاِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِۜ وَاِنْ يَأْتُوكُمْ اُسَارٰى تُفَادُوهُمْ وَهُوَ مُحَرَّمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ اِخْرَاجُهُمْۜ اَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ الْكِتَابِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍۚ فَمَا جَزَٓاءُ مَنْ يَفْعَلُ ذٰلِكَ مِنْكُمْ اِلَّا خِزْيٌ فِي الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۚ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ يُرَدُّونَ اِلٰٓى اَشَدِّ الْعَذَابِۜ وَمَا اللّٰهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ Thumma antum haola-itaqtuloona anfusakum watukhrijoona fareeqan minkum min diyarihimtathaharoona AAalayhim bil-ithmi walAAudwaniwa-in ya/tookum osara tufadoohum wahuwa muharramunAAalaykum ikhrajuhum afatu/minoona bibaAAdi alkitabiwatakfuroona bibaAAdin fama jazao manyafAAalu thalika minkum illa khizyun fee alhayatiaddunya wayawma alqiyamati yuraddoona ilaashaddi alAAathabi wama Allahu bighafilinAAamma taAAmaloon Then are you those who kill your own, and turn a faction among you out of their homes, assisting one another against them in sin and enmity; and if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, but unlawful for you was their expulsion. Do you believe in part of the Writ and deny part? Then what is the reward of him among you who does that save disgrace in the life of this world? Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 96 - **Form in this verse:** يَعْمَلُونَ — yaʿmalūna · "they do" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ اَحْرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلٰى حَيٰوةٍۚ وَمِنَ الَّذ۪ينَ اَشْرَكُوا يَوَدُّ اَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ اَلْفَ سَنَةٍۚ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِه۪ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ اَنْ يُعَمَّرَۜ وَاللّٰهُ بَص۪يرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ۟ Walatajidannahum ahrasa annasiAAala hayatin wamina allatheenaashrakoo yawaddu ahaduhum law yuAAammaru alfa sanatin wamahuwa bimuzahzihihi mina alAAathabi anyuAAammara wallahu baseerun bimayaAAmaloon And thou wilt find them the greediest of men for life. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 140 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense اَمْ تَقُولُونَ اِنَّ اِبْرٰه۪يمَ وَاِسْمٰع۪يلَ وَاِسْحٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْاَسْبَاطَ كَانُوا هُوداً اَوْ نَصَارٰىۜ قُلْ ءَاَنْتُمْ اَعْلَمُ اَمِ اللّٰهُۜ وَمَنْ اَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ كَتَمَ شَهَادَةً عِنْدَهُ مِنَ اللّٰهِۜ وَمَا اللّٰهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ Am taqooloona inna ibraheema wa-ismaAAeelawa-ishaqa wayaAAqooba wal-asbata kanoohoodan aw nasara qul aantum aAAlamu ami Allahuwaman athlamu mimman katama shahadatanAAindahu mina Allahi wama Allahu bighafilinAAamma taAAmaloon If you say that Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac, and Jacob and the Grandsons were such as hold to Judaism or Christians, say thou: “Know you better, or does God?” And who is more unjust than he who conceals a witness he has from God? Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 144 - **Form in this verse:** يَعْمَلُونَ — yaʿmalūna · "they do" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, plural · present tense قَدْ نَرٰى تَقَلُّبَ وَجْهِكَ فِي السَّمَٓاءِۚ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبْلَةً تَرْضٰيهَاۖ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِۜ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنْتُمْ فَوَلُّوا وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُۜ وَاِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ اُو۫تُوا الْكِتَابَ لَيَعْلَمُونَ اَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْۜ وَمَا اللّٰهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ Qad nara taqalluba wajhika fee assama-ifalanuwalliyannaka qiblatan tardaha fawalli wajhakashatra almasjidi alharami wahaythu makuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrahu wa-inna allatheenaootoo alkitaba layaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu minrabbihim wama Allahu bighafilin AAammayaAAmaloon We have seen the turning of thy face towards the sky, and We will turn thee towards a course that will satisfy thee. So direct thou thy face towards the inviolable place of worship. And wheresoever you be, direct your faces towards it; and those given the Writ know that it is the truth from their Lord, and God is not unmindful of what they do. _https://quran.so/surah-al-baqarah/verse-144.md_ ### 2. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 167 - **Form in this verse:** أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ — aʿmālahum · "their deeds" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine, plural · accusative case وَقَالَ الَّذ۪ينَ اتَّبَعُوا لَوْ اَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَتَبَرَّاَ مِنْهُمْ كَمَا تَبَرَّؤُ۫ا مِنَّاۜ كَذٰلِكَ يُر۪يهِمُ اللّٰهُ اَعْمَالَهُمْ حَسَرَاتٍ عَلَيْهِمْۜ وَمَا هُمْ بِخَارِج۪ينَ مِنَ النَّارِ۟ Waqala allatheena ittabaAAoolaw anna lana karratan fanatabarraa minhum kamatabarraoo minna kathalika yureehimu AllahuaAAmalahum hasaratin AAalayhim wamahum bikharijeena mina annar And those who followed will say: “Were we to return, we would disown them just as they have disowned us,”[...]. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 217 - **Form in this verse:** أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ — aʿmāluhum · "their deeds" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine, plural · nominative case يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ الشَّهْرِ الْحَرَامِ قِتَالٍ ف۪يهِۜ قُلْ قِتَالٌ ف۪يهِ كَب۪يرٌۜ وَصَدٌّ عَنْ سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِ وَكُفْرٌ بِه۪ وَالْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَاِخْرَاجُ اَهْلِه۪ مِنْهُ اَكْبَرُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِۚ وَالْفِتْنَةُ اَكْبَرُ مِنَ الْقَتْلِۜ وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ حَتّٰى يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَنْ د۪ينِكُمْ اِنِ اسْتَطَاعُواۜ وَمَنْ يَرْتَدِدْ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ د۪ينِه۪ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ فَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ حَبِطَتْ اَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِۚ وَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ اَصْحَابُ النَّارِۚ هُمْ ف۪يهَا خَـالِدُونَ Yas-aloonaka AAani ashshahri alharamiqitalin feehi qul qitalun feehi kabeerun wasaddunAAan sabeeli Allahi wakufrun bihi walmasjidi alharamiwa-ikhraju ahlihi minhu akbaru AAinda Allahi walfitnatuakbaru mina alqatli wala yazaloona yuqatiloonakumhatta yaruddookum AAan deenikum ini istataAAoowaman yartadid minkum AAan deenihi fayamut wahuwa kafirunfaola-ika habitat aAAmaluhum fee addunyawal-akhirati waola-ika as-habuannari hum feeha khalidoon They ask thee about the inviolable month, fighting therein; say thou: “Fighting therein is grave, but turning away from the path of God, and denial of Him and the inviolable place of worship, and the expulsion of its people therefrom is graver in the sight of God; and means of denial is worse than killing.” And they will not cease to fight you until they turn you from your doctrine, if they are able; and whoso among you turns from his doctrine, and dies a false claimer of guidance: those, their works are vain in the World and in the Hereafter; and those are the companions of the Fire; therein they abide eternally. _https://quran.so/surah-al-baqarah/verse-217.md_ ### 2. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 233 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَالْوَالِدَاتُ يُرْضِعْنَ اَوْلَادَهُنَّ حَوْلَيْنِ كَامِلَيْنِ لِمَنْ اَرَادَ اَنْ يُـتِمَّ الرَّضَاعَةَۜ وَعَلَى الْمَوْلُودِ لَهُ رِزْقُهُنَّ وَكِسْوَتُهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِۜ لَا تُكَلَّفُ نَفْسٌ اِلَّا وُسْعَهَاۚ لَا تُضَٓارَّ وَالِدَةٌ بِوَلَدِهَا وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ لَهُ بِوَلَدِه۪ وَعَلَى الْوَارِثِ مِثْلُ ذٰلِكَۚ فَاِنْ اَرَادَا فِصَالاً عَنْ تَرَاضٍ مِنْهُمَا وَتَشَاوُرٍ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَاۜ وَاِنْ اَرَدْتُمْ اَنْ تَسْتَرْضِعُٓوا اَوْلَادَكُمْ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ اِذَا سَلَّمْتُمْ مَٓا اٰتَيْتُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِۜ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاعْلَمُٓوا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَص۪يرٌ Walwalidatu yurdiAAnaawladahunna hawlayni kamilayni liman aradaan yutimma arradaAAata waAAala almawloodilahu rizquhunna wakiswatuhunna bilmaAAroofi latukallafu nafsun illa wusAAaha la tudarrawalidatun biwaladiha wala mawloodun lahubiwaladihi waAAala alwarithi mithlu thalikafa-in arada fisalan AAan taradinminhuma watashawurin fala junahaAAalayhima wa-in aradtum an tastardiAAoo awladakumfala junaha AAalaykum itha sallamtum maataytum bilmaAAroofi wattaqoo AllahawaAAlamoo anna Allaha bima taAAmaloona baseer And mothers shall suckle their children two complete years, for such as wish to complete the suckling. And upon the father is their provision and their clothing, according to what is fitting. No soul is burdened save to its capacity. A mother shall not be hurt by her child, nor a father by his child. And upon the heir is the like of that. And if they desire weaning by mutual consent and consultation between them, then they do no wrong. And if you desire to seek one to suckle your children, then you do no wrong when you deliver what you have brought according to what is fitting. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 234 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَالَّذ۪ينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ اَزْوَاجاً يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِاَنْفُسِهِنَّ اَرْبَعَةَ اَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْراًۚ فَاِذَا بَلَغْنَ اَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ ف۪يمَا فَعَلْنَ ف۪ٓي اَنْفُسِهِنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَب۪يرٌ Wallatheena yutawaffawnaminkum wayatharoona azwajan yatarabbasnabi-anfusihinna arbaAAata ashhurin waAAashran fa-ithabalaghna ajalahunna fala junaha AAalaykum feemafaAAalna fee anfusihinna bilmaAAroofi wallahubima taAAmaloona khabeer And those of you who die and leave behind wives: they shall wait by themselves four months and ten. And when they have reached their term, then you do no wrong in what they do concerning themselves according to what is fitting. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 237 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَاِنْ طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ تَمَسُّوهُنَّ وَقَدْ فَرَضْتُمْ لَهُنَّ فَر۪يضَةً فَنِصْفُ مَا فَرَضْتُمْ اِلَّٓا اَنْ يَعْفُونَ اَوْ يَعْفُوَا الَّذ۪ي بِيَدِه۪ عُقْدَةُ النِّكَاحِۜ وَاَنْ تَعْفُٓوا اَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوٰىۜ وَلَا تَنْسَوُا الْفَضْلَ بَيْنَكُمْۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَص۪يرٌ Wa-in tallaqtumoohunna min qabli antamassoohunna waqad faradtum lahunna fareedatanfanisfu ma faradtum illa an yaAAfoonaaw yaAAfuwa allathee biyadihi AAuqdatu annikahiwaan taAAfoo aqrabu littaqwa wala tansawooalfadla baynakum inna Allaha bimataAAmaloona baseer And if you divorce them before you have touched them and you have already appointed for them an obligation, then half of what you appointed unless they forgo it, or he in whose hand is the knot of marriage forgoes it; and that you forgo is nearer to prudent fear. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 265 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَمَثَلُ الَّذ۪ينَ يُنْفِقُونَ اَمْوَالَهُمُ ابْتِغَٓاءَ مَرْضَاتِ اللّٰهِ وَتَثْب۪يتاً مِنْ اَنْفُسِهِمْ كَمَثَلِ جَنَّةٍ بِرَبْوَةٍ اَصَابَهَا وَابِلٌ فَاٰتَتْ اُكُلَهَا ضِعْفَيْنِۚ فَاِنْ لَمْ يُصِبْهَا وَابِلٌ فَطَلٌّۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَص۪يرٌ Wamathalu allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahumuibtighaa mardati Allahi watathbeetan minanfusihim kamathali jannatin birabwatin asabaha wabilunfaatat okulaha diAAfayni fa-in lam yusibhawabilun fatallun wallahu bimataAAmaloona baseer And the likeness of those who spend their wealth seeking the pleasure of God and as a confirmation of their souls, is as the likeness of a garden on high ground: a downpour fell upon it, and it yielded double fruit; and if a downpour falls not upon it, then fine rain; and God sees what you do. _https://quran.so/surah-al-baqarah/verse-265.md_ ### 2. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 283 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَاِنْ كُنْتُمْ عَلٰى سَفَرٍ وَلَمْ تَجِدُوا كَاتِباً فَرِهَانٌ مَقْبُوضَةٌۜ فَاِنْ اَمِنَ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضاً فَلْيُؤَدِّ الَّذِي اؤْتُمِنَ اَمَانَتَهُ وَلْيَتَّقِ اللّٰهَ رَبَّهُۜ وَلَا تَكْتُمُوا الشَّهَادَةَۜ وَمَنْ يَكْتُمْهَا فَاِنَّهُٓ اٰثِمٌ قَلْبُهُۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَل۪يمٌ۟ Wa-in kuntum AAala safarin walamtajidoo katiban farihanun maqboodatun fa-inamina baAAdukum baAAdan falyu-addiallatheei/tumina amanatahu walyattaqi Allaha rabbahuwala taktumoo ashshahadata waman yaktumhafa-innahu athimun qalbuhu wallahu bimataAAmaloona AAaleem And if you are on a journey, and find not a writer, then: a pledge in hand. But if one of you trusts another, then let him who is trusted discharge his trust, and let him be in prudent fear of God, his Lord. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 120 - **Form in this verse:** يَعْمَلُونَ — yaʿmalūna · "they do" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, plural · present tense اِنْ تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْۘ وَاِنْ تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُوا بِهَاۜ وَاِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـٔاًۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُح۪يطٌ۟ In tamsaskum hasanatun tasu/humwa-in tusibkum sayyi-atun yafrahoo bihawa-in tasbiroo watattaqoo la yadurrukumkayduhum shay-an inna Allaha bima yaAAmaloona muheet If good touches you, it vexes them; and if evil befalls you, they exult thereat. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 153 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense اِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُ۫نَ عَلٰٓى اَحَدٍ وَالرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ ف۪ٓي اُخْرٰيكُمْ فَاَثَابَكُمْ غَماًّ بِغَمٍّ لِكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُوا عَلٰى مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا مَٓا اَصَابَكُمْۜ وَاللّٰهُ خَب۪يرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ Ith tusAAidoona walatalwoona AAala ahadin warrasooluyadAAookum fee okhrakum faathabakum ghammanbighammin likay la tahzanoo AAala mafatakum wala ma asabakum wallahukhabeerun bima taAAmaloon When you were ascending, and paying no heed to anyone, and the Messenger calling you from your rear, so He requited you with grief upon grief, that you might not grieve for what eluded you or what befell you; and God is aware of what you do. _https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-153.md_ ### 3. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 156 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا وَقَالُوا لِاِخْوَانِهِمْ اِذَا ضَرَبُوا فِي الْاَرْضِ اَوْ كَانُوا غُزًّى لَوْ كَانُوا عِنْدَنَا مَا مَاتُوا وَمَا قُتِلُواۚ لِيَجْعَلَ اللّٰهُ ذٰلِكَ حَسْرَةً ف۪ي قُلُوبِهِمْۜ وَاللّٰهُ يُحْـي۪ وَيُم۪يتُۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَص۪يرٌ Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola takoonoo kallatheena kafaroo waqalooli-ikhwanihim itha daraboo fee al-ardiaw kanoo ghuzzan law kanoo AAindana mamatoo wama qutiloo liyajAAala Allahu thalikahasratan fee quloobihim wallahu yuhyeewayumeetu wallahu bima taAAmaloona baseer O you who heed warning: be not like those who ignore warning, and say of their brothers when they travel in the earth or are on an expedition: “Had they been with us, they would not have died or been killed,” that God might make that a sorrow in their hearts; for God gives life, and gives death; and God sees what you do. _https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-156.md_ ### 3. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 180 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَٓا اٰتٰيهُمُ اللّٰهُ مِنْ فَضْلِه۪ هُوَ خَيْراً لَهُمْۜ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُمْۜ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِه۪ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِۜ وَلِلّٰهِ م۪يرَاثُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَب۪يرٌ۟ Wala yahsabanna allatheenayabkhaloona bima atahummu Allahu minfadlihi huwa khayran lahum bal huwa sharrun lahum sayutawwaqoonama bakhiloo bihi yawma alqiyamati walillahimeerathu assamawati wal-ardiwallahu bima taAAmaloona khabeer And let not those who are miserly with what God gives them of His bounty think it good for them; the truth is, it is evil for them: hung about their necks will be that with which they were miserly on the Day of Resurrection; and to God belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth; and God is aware of what you do. _https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-180.md_ ### 3. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 195 - **Form in this verse:** عَمَلَ — ʿamala · "deeds" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · accusative case فَاسْتَجَابَ لَهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ اَنّ۪ي لَٓا اُض۪يعُ عَمَلَ عَامِلٍ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ اَوْ اُنْثٰىۚ بَعْضُكُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍۚ فَالَّذ۪ينَ هَاجَرُوا وَاُخْرِجُوا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ وَاُو۫ذُوا ف۪ي سَب۪يل۪ي وَقَاتَلُوا وَقُتِلُوا لَاُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَلَاُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْر۪ي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهَارُۚ ثَوَاباً مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِۜ وَاللّٰهُ عِنْدَهُ حُسْنُ الثَّوَابِ Fastajaba lahum rabbuhumannee la odeeAAu AAamala AAamilin minkum minthakarin aw ontha baAAdukum min baAAdinfallatheena hajaroo waokhrijoo min diyarihimwaoothoo fee sabeelee waqataloo waqutiloolaokaffiranna AAanhum sayyi-atihim walaodkhilannahum jannatintajree min tahtiha al-anharu thawabanmin AAindi Allahi wallahu AAindahu husnuaththawab And their Lord responded to them: “I cause not to be lost the work of any that works among you, male or female; you are of one another.” And those who emigrated and were turned out of their homes, and were hindered in My cause, and fought and were killed: I will remove from them their evil deeds, and I will make them enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, as a reward from God; and God, with Him is the best of rewards. _https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-195.md_ ### 3. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 94 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُٓوا اِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِ فَتَبَيَّنُوا وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَنْ اَلْقٰٓى اِلَيْكُمُ السَّلَامَ لَسْتَ مُؤْمِناًۚ تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۘ فَعِنْدَ اللّٰهِ مَغَانِمُ كَث۪يرَةٌۜ كَذٰلِكَ كُنْتُمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَبَيَّنُواۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَب۪يراً Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooitha darabtum fee sabeeli Allahifatabayyanoo wala taqooloo liman alqa ilaykumu assalamalasta mu/minan tabtaghoona AAarada alhayatiaddunya faAAinda Allahi maghanimukatheeratun kathalika kuntum min qablu famanna AllahuAAalaykum fatabayyanoo inna Allaha kana bimataAAmaloona khabeera O you who heed warning: when you go forth in the cause of God, verify; and say not to one who offers you peace: “Thou art not a believer,” seeking the transitory things of the life of this world; for with God are many spoils. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 128 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَاِنِ امْرَاَةٌ خَافَتْ مِنْ بَعْلِهَا نُشُوزاً اَوْ اِعْرَاضاً فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَٓا اَنْ يُصْلِحَا بَيْنَهُمَا صُلْحاًۜ وَالصُّلْحُ خَيْرٌۜ وَاُحْضِرَتِ الْاَنْفُسُ الشُّحَّۜ وَاِنْ تُحْسِنُوا وَتَتَّقُوا فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَب۪يراً Wa-ini imraatun khafat min baAAlihanushoozan aw iAAradan fala junaha AAalayhimaan yusliha baynahuma sulhan wassulhukhayrun waohdirati al-anfusu ashshuhhawa-in tuhsinoo watattaqoo fa-inna Allaha kanabima taAAmaloona khabeera But if a woman fears contempt or aversion from her husband, they do no wrong that they do right between themselves in peace; and making right is better; and avarice is present in the souls. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 135 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "you do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّام۪ينَ بِالْقِسْطِ شُهَدَٓاءَ لِلّٰهِ وَلَوْ عَلٰٓى اَنْفُسِكُمْ اَوِ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْاَقْرَب۪ينَۚ اِنْ يَكُنْ غَنِياًّ اَوْ فَق۪يراً فَاللّٰهُ اَوْلٰى بِهِمَا فَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا الْهَوٰٓى اَنْ تَعْدِلُواۚ وَاِنْ تَلْـوُٓ۫ا اَوْ تُعْرِضُوا فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَب۪يراً Ya ayyuha allatheena amanookoonoo qawwameena bilqisti shuhadaalillahi walaw AAala anfusikum awi alwalidayniwal-aqrabeena in yakun ghaniyyan aw faqeeran fallahuawla bihima fala tattabiAAoo alhawaan taAAdiloo wa-in talwoo aw tuAAridoo fa-inna Allahakana bima taAAmaloona khabeera O you who heed warning: stand firm with equity, witnesses to God, though it be against yourselves, or parents, or relatives; whether he be rich or poor, God is closer to both. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 173 - **Form in this verse:** وَعَمِلُوا۟ — waʿamilū · "and did" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, plural · past tense فَاَمَّا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَيُوَفّ۪يهِمْ اُجُورَهُمْ وَيَز۪يدُهُمْ مِنْ فَضْلِه۪ۚ وَاَمَّا الَّذ۪ينَ اسْتَنْكَفُوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فَيُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَاباً اَل۪يماًۙ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِ وَلِياًّ وَلَا نَص۪يراً Faamma allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati fayuwaffeehimojoorahum wayazeeduhum min fadlihi waamma allatheenaistankafoo wastakbaroo fayuAAaththibuhum AAathabanaleeman wala yajidoona lahum min dooni Allahiwaliyyan wala naseera Then as for those who heed warning and do righteous deeds: He will give them their rewards in full, and increase them out of His bounty; and as for those who disdain and wax proud: He will punish them with a painful punishment; and they will not find for them, besides God, ally or helper. _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-173.md_ ### 5. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 5 - **Form in this verse:** عَمَلُهُۥ — ʿamaluhu · "his deeds" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine · nominative case اَلْيَوْمَ اُحِلَّ لَكُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتُۜ وَطَعَامُ الَّذ۪ينَ اُو۫تُوا الْكِتَابَ حِلٌّ لَكُمْۖ وَطَعَامُكُمْ حِلٌّ لَهُمْۘ وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ الَّذ۪ينَ اُو۫تُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ اِذَٓا اٰتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ اُجُورَهُنَّ مُحْصِن۪ينَ غَيْرَ مُسَافِح۪ينَ وَلَا مُتَّخِذ۪ٓي اَخْدَانٍۜ وَمَنْ يَكْفُرْ بِالْا۪يمَانِ فَقَدْ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُۘ وَهُوَ فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِر۪ينَ۟ Alyawma ohilla lakumu attayyibatuwataAAamu allatheena ootoo alkitaba hillunlakum wataAAamukum hillun lahum walmuhsanatumina almu/minati walmuhsanatu minaallatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum itha ataytumoohunnaojoorahunna muhsineena ghayra musafiheenawala muttakhithee akhdanin waman yakfur bil-eemanifaqad habita AAamaluhu wahuwa fee al-akhiratimina alkhasireen This day are good things made lawful for you; and the food of those given the Writ is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them, as are chaste women among the believing women and chaste women among those given the Writ before you, when you have given them their dowries, being chaste and not fornicators, nor taking secret friends. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 66 - **Form in this verse:** يَعْمَلُونَ — yaʿmalūna · "they do" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ اَقَامُوا التَّوْرٰيةَ وَالْاِنْج۪يلَ وَمَٓا اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ لَاَكَلُوا مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِنْ تَحْتِ اَرْجُلِهِمْۜ مِنْهُمْ اُمَّةٌ مُقْتَصِدَةٌۜ وَكَث۪يرٌ مِنْهُمْ سَٓاءَ مَا يَعْمَلُونَ۟ Walaw annahum aqamoo attawratawal-injeela wama onzila ilayhim min rabbihimlaakaloo min fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim minhum ommatunmuqtasidatun wakatheerun minhum saa mayaAAmaloon And had they upheld the Torah and the Gospel and what was sent down to them from their Lord, they would have eaten from above them and from under their feet. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 71 - **Form in this verse:** يَعْمَلُونَ — yaʿmalūna · "they do" - **Grammar:** verb · 3rd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَحَسِبُٓوا اَلَّا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ فَعَمُوا وَصَمُّوا ثُمَّ تَابَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ عَمُوا وَصَمُّوا كَث۪يرٌ مِنْهُمْۜ وَاللّٰهُ بَص۪يرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ Wahasiboo alla takoonafitnatun faAAamoo wasammoo thumma taba AllahuAAalayhim thumma AAamoo wasammoo katheerun minhum wallahubaseerun bima yaAAmaloon And considered there would be no means of denial, so they became blind and deaf. Surah Al-A'raf, Verse 43 - **Form in this verse:** تَعْمَلُونَ — taʿmalūna · "do" - **Grammar:** verb · 2nd person, masculine, plural · present tense وَنَزَعْنَا مَا ف۪ي صُدُورِهِمْ مِنْ غِلٍّ تَجْر۪ي مِنْ تَحْتِهِمُ الْاَنْهَارُۚ وَقَالُوا الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذ۪ي هَدٰينَا لِهٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلَٓا اَنْ هَدٰينَا اللّٰهُۚ لَقَدْ جَٓاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّۜ وَنُودُٓوا اَنْ تِلْكُمُ الْجَنَّةُ اُو۫رِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihimmin ghillin tajree min tahtihimu al-anharu waqalooalhamdu lillahi allathee hadanalihatha wama kunna linahtadiya lawlaan hadana Allahu laqad jaat rusulurabbina bilhaqqi wanoodoo an tilkumualjannatu oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloon And We will remove any rancour from their hearts; there flow beneath them rivers; and they will say: “Praise belongs to God who has guided us to this! And we would not have been guided had not God guided us. Surah Al-A'raf, Verse 53 - **Form in this verse:** فَنَعْمَلَ — fanaʿmala · "so (that) we do (deeds)" - **Grammar:** verb · 1st person, plural · present tense هَلْ يَنْظُرُونَ اِلَّا تَأْو۪يلَهُۜ يَوْمَ يَأْت۪ي تَأْو۪يلُهُ يَقُولُ الَّذ۪ينَ نَسُوهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ قَدْ جَٓاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّۚ فَهَلْ لَنَا مِنْ شُفَعَٓاءَ فَيَشْفَعُوا لَـنَٓا اَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ الَّذ۪ي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُۜ قَدْ خَسِرُٓوا اَنْفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ۟ Hal yanthuroona illata/weelahu yawma ya/tee ta/weeluhu yaqoolu allatheenanasoohu min qablu qad jaat rusulu rabbina bilhaqqifahal lana min shufaAAaa fayashfaAAoo lanaaw nuraddu fanaAAmala ghayra allathee kunnanaAAmalu qad khasiroo anfusahum wadalla AAanhum makanoo yaftaroon Look they save for the fulfilment thereof? The day the fulfilment thereof comes, those who had forgotten it before will say: “The messengers of our Lord came with the truth, so have we any intercessors that might intercede for us? Or will we be sent back that we might do other than what we did?” They will have lost their souls; and strayed from them will be what they invented. _https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-53.md_ ### 7. Surah At-Tawbah, Verse 69 - **Form in this verse:** أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ — aʿmāluhum · "(are) their deeds" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine, plural · nominative case كَالَّذ۪ينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ كَانُٓوا اَشَدَّ مِنْكُمْ قُوَّةً وَاَكْثَرَ اَمْوَالاً وَاَوْلَاداًۜ فَاسْتَمْتَعُوا بِخَلَاقِهِمْ فَاسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِخَلَاقِكُمْ كَمَا اسْتَمْتَعَ الَّذ۪ينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ بِخَلَاقِهِمْ وَخُضْتُمْ كَالَّذ۪ي خَاضُواۜ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ حَبِطَتْ اَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِۚ وَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ Kallatheena min qablikum kanooashadda minkum quwwatan waakthara amwalan waawladanfastamtaAAoo bikhalaqihim fastamtaAAtumbikhalaqikum kama istamtaAAa allatheena minqablikum bikhalaqihim wakhudtum kallatheekhadoo ola-ika habitat aAAmaluhumfee addunya wal-akhirati waola-ikahumu alkhasiroon Like those before you, stronger than you in might and greater in wealth and children: they enjoyed their lot. Say thou: “Make not excuses; we will not believe you.
