Qul ya ahla alkitabi lastumAAala shay-in hatta tuqeemoo attawratawal-injeela wama onzila ilaykum min rabbikumwalayazeedanna katheeran minhum ma onzila ilayka minrabbika tughyanan wakufran fala ta/sa AAalaalqawmi alkafireen

Say thou: “O doctors of the Law: you have nothing to stand upon until you uphold the Torah and the Gospel and what was sent down to you from your Lord.” And there increases many of them in inordinacy and denial what was sent down to thee from thy Lord; so grieve thou not over the people of the false claimers of guidance.

Fatawalla AAanhum waqala yaqawmi laqad ablaghtukum risalati rabbee wanasahtulakum fakayfa asa AAala qawmin kafireen

Then he turned from them and said: “O my people: I had conveyed to you the messages of my Lord, and been a sincere counsellor to you; so how should I grieve for a people of false claimers of guidance?”

Laqad kana lakum fee rasooli Allahioswatun hasanatun liman kana yarjoo Allahawalyawma al-akhira wathakara Allahakatheera

You have had in the messenger of God a good model for him who looks to God and the Last Day and remembers God much.

### 57. Surah Al-Hadid, Verse 23

### 60. Surah Al-Mumtahanah, Verse 4

قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ اُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ ف۪ٓي اِبْرٰه۪يمَ وَالَّذ۪ينَ مَعَهُۚ اِذْ قَالُوا لِقَوْمِهِمْ اِنَّا بُرَءٰٓؤُ۬ا مِنْكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِۘ   كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةُ وَالْبَغْضَٓاءُ اَبَداً حَتّٰى تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللّٰهِ وَحْدَهُٓ اِلَّا قَوْلَ اِبْرٰه۪يمَ لِاَب۪يهِ لَاَسْتَغْفِرَنَّ لَكَ وَمَٓا اَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللّٰهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍۜ رَبَّـنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَاِلَيْكَ اَنَبْنَا وَاِلَيْكَ الْمَص۪يرُ

Qad kanat lakum oswatun hasanatunfee ibraheema wallatheena maAAahu ithqaloo liqawmihim inna buraao minkum wamimmataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi kafarna bikum wabadabaynana wabaynakumu alAAadawatu walbaghdaoabadan hatta tu/minoo billahi wahdahuilla qawla ibraheema li-abeehi laastaghfiranna lakawama amliku laka mina Allahi min shay-in rabbanaAAalayka tawakkalna wa-ilayka anabna wa-ilayka almaseer

There was for you a good model in Abraham and those with him when they said to their people: “We are quit of you and what you serve besides God. We deny you, and become clear between us and you are enmity and hatred forever until you believe in God alone,” — save the saying of Abraham to his father: “I will ask forgiveness for thee, but I have no power for thee against God.” — “Our Lord: in Thee we place our trust; and to Thee have we turned; and to Thee is the journey’s end.

### 60. Surah Al-Mumtahanah, Verse 6

Laqad kana lakum feehim oswatun hasanatunliman kana yarjoo Allaha walyawma al-akhirawaman yatawalla fa-inna Allaha huwa alghanniyyu alhameed

There was for you in them a good model for one who hopes for God and the Last Day. And whoso turns away: — God, He is the Free from Need, the Praiseworthy.
