ثُمَّ اَنْتُمْ هٰٓؤُ۬لَٓاءِ تَقْتُلُونَ اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَتُخْرِجُونَ فَر۪يقاً مِنْكُمْ مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْۘ تَظَاهَرُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِالْاِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِۜ وَاِنْ يَأْتُوكُمْ اُسَارٰى تُفَادُوهُمْ وَهُوَ مُحَرَّمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ اِخْرَاجُهُمْۜ اَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ الْكِتَابِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍۚ فَمَا جَزَٓاءُ مَنْ يَفْعَلُ ذٰلِكَ مِنْكُمْ اِلَّا خِزْيٌ فِي الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۚ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ يُرَدُّونَ اِلٰٓى اَشَدِّ الْعَذَابِۜ وَمَا اللّٰهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

Thumma antum haola-itaqtuloona anfusakum watukhrijoona fareeqan minkum min diyarihimtathaharoona AAalayhim bil-ithmi walAAudwaniwa-in ya/tookum osara tufadoohum wahuwa muharramunAAalaykum ikhrajuhum afatu/minoona bibaAAdi alkitabiwatakfuroona bibaAAdin fama jazao manyafAAalu thalika minkum illa khizyun fee alhayatiaddunya wayawma alqiyamati yuraddoona ilaashaddi alAAathabi wama Allahu bighafilinAAamma taAAmaloon

Then are you those who kill your own, and turn a faction among you out of their homes, assisting one another against them in sin and enmity; and if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, but unlawful for you was their expulsion. Do you believe in part of the Writ and deny part? Then what is the reward of him among you who does that save disgrace in the life of this world? And on the Day of Resurrection they are sent back to the harshest punishment; and God is not unmindful of what you do.

Ma kana linabiyyin an yakoonalahu asra hatta yuthkhina fee al-arditureedoona AAarada addunya wallahuyureedu al-akhirata wallahu AAazeezun hakeem

It is not for a prophet to have captives until he has battled strenuously in the land. You desire the goods of the World, and God desires the Hereafter; and God is exalted in might and wise.

Ya ayyuha annabiyyuqul liman fee aydeekum mina al-asra in yaAAlami Allahufee quloobikum khayran yu/tikum khayran mimma okhithaminkum wayaghfir lakum wallahu ghafoorun raheem

O Prophet: say thou to those in your hands of the captives: “If God knows any good in your hearts, He will give you better than what has been taken from you, and will forgive you”; and God is forgiving and merciful.

### 33. Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 26

And He brought down those who assisted them among the doctors of the Law from their strongholds, and hurled terror into their hearts; a faction you killed, and you took captive a faction.

### 76. Surah Al-Insan, Verse 28

Nahnu khalaqnahum washadadnaasrahum wa-itha shi/na baddalna amthalahumtabdeela

We created them, and strengthened their form and, when We will, We will change their likenesses completely.
