Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 61 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضُ — l-arḍu · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · nominative case وَاِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسٰى لَنْ نَصْبِرَ عَلٰى طَعَامٍ وَاحِدٍ فَادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الْاَرْضُ مِنْ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّٓائِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَاۜ قَالَ اَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ الَّذ۪ي هُوَ اَدْنٰى بِالَّذ۪ي هُوَ خَيْرٌۜ اِهْبِطُوا مِصْراً فَاِنَّ لَكُمْ مَا سَاَلْتُمْۜ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ وَالْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَٓاؤُ۫ بِغَضَبٍ مِنَ اللّٰهِۜ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ بِاٰيَاتِ اللّٰهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ النَّبِيّ۪نَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّۜ ذٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوْا وَكَانُوا يَعْتَدُونَ۟ Wa-ith qultum ya moosalan nasbira AAala taAAamin wahidinfadAAu lana rabbaka yukhrij lana mimmatunbitu al-ardu min baqliha waqiththa-ihawafoomiha waAAadasiha wabasaliha qalaatastabdiloona allathee huwa adna billatheehuwa khayrun ihbitoo misran fa-inna lakum masaaltum waduribat AAalayhimu aththillatu walmaskanatuwabaoo bighadabin mina Allahi thalikabi-annahum kanoo yakfuroona bi-ayati Allahiwayaqtuloona annabiyyeena bighayri alhaqqi thalikabima AAasaw wakanoo yaAAtadoon And when you said: “O Moses: we will not endure one food, so call thou to thy Lord for us that He bring forth for us of what the earth grows of its green herbs, and its cucumbers, and its garlic, and its lentils, and its onions.” He said: “Would you exchange for what is worse what is better? Get you down to Egypt, and you will have what you have asked.” And humiliation and wretchedness were pitched upon them; and they incurred wrath from God, for it is that they denied the proofs of God! And David killed Goliath, and God gave him dominion and wisdom, and taught him of what He willed. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 255 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case اَللّٰهُ لَٓا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۚ اَلْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌۜ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْاَرْضِۜ مَنْ ذَا الَّذ۪ي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُٓ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِه۪ۜ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ اَيْد۪يهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْۚ وَلَا يُح۪يطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِه۪ٓ اِلَّا بِمَا شَٓاءَۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَۚ وَلَا يَؤُ۫دُهُ حِفْظُهُمَاۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظ۪يمُ Allahu la ilaha illahuwa alhayyu alqayyoomu la ta/khuthuhusinatun wala nawmun lahu ma fee assamawatiwama fee al-ardi man tha allatheeyashfaAAu AAindahu illa bi-ithnihi yaAAlamu mabayna aydeehim wama khalfahum wala yuheetoonabishay-in min AAilmihi illa bima shaawasiAAa kursiyyuhu assamawati wal-ardawala yaooduhu hifthuhumawahuwa alAAaliyyu alAAatheem God, there is no god save He, the Living, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him; to Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the earth — who will intercede with Him save by His leave? He knows what is before them and what is after them, and they encompass not anything of His knowledge save what He wills. Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 273 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case لِلْفُقَـرَٓاءِ الَّذ۪ينَ اُحْصِرُوا ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِ لَا يَسْتَط۪يعُونَ ضَـرْباً فِي الْاَرْضِۘ يَحْسَبُهُمُ الْجَاهِلُ اَغْنِيَٓاءَ مِنَ التَّعَفُّفِۚ تَعْرِفُهُمْ بِس۪يمٰيهُمْۚ لَا يَسْـَٔلُونَ النَّاسَ اِلْحَافاًۜ وَمَا تُنْفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِه۪ عَل۪يمٌ۟ Lilfuqara-i allatheena ohsiroofee sabeeli Allahi la yastateeAAoona darbanfee al-ardi yahsabuhumu aljahilu aghniyaamina attaAAaffufi taAArifuhum biseemahum layas-aloona annasa ilhafan wamatunfiqoo min khayrin fa-inna Allaha bihi AAaleem On the poor who are straitened in the cause of God, unable to make a way in the earth: the ignorant considers them free from need due to their reticence. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 91 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case اِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْ اَحَدِهِمْ مِلْءُ الْاَرْضِ ذَهَباً وَلَوِ افْتَدٰى بِه۪ۜ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَل۪يمٌ وَمَا لَهُمْ مِنْ نَاصِر۪ينَ۟ Inna allatheena kafaroo wamatoowahum kuffarun falan yuqbala min ahadihim miloal-ardi thahaban walawi iftada bihi ola-ikalahum AAathabun aleemun wama lahum min nasireen Those who ignore warning and die as atheists: there would not be accepted from one of them the earth full of gold were he to seek to ransom himself thereby; those have a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers. _https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-91.md_ ### 3. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 156 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا وَقَالُوا لِاِخْوَانِهِمْ اِذَا ضَرَبُوا فِي الْاَرْضِ اَوْ كَانُوا غُزًّى لَوْ كَانُوا عِنْدَنَا مَا مَاتُوا وَمَا قُتِلُواۚ لِيَجْعَلَ اللّٰهُ ذٰلِكَ حَسْرَةً ف۪ي قُلُوبِهِمْۜ وَاللّٰهُ يُحْـي۪ وَيُم۪يتُۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَص۪يرٌ Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola takoonoo kallatheena kafaroo waqalooli-ikhwanihim itha daraboo fee al-ardiaw kanoo ghuzzan law kanoo AAindana mamatoo wama qutiloo liyajAAala Allahu thalikahasratan fee quloobihim wallahu yuhyeewayumeetu wallahu bima taAAmaloona baseer O you who heed warning: be not like those who ignore warning, and say of their brothers when they travel in the earth or are on an expedition: “Had they been with us, they would not have died or been killed,” that God might make that a sorrow in their hearts; for God gives life, and gives death; and God sees what you do. _https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-156.md_ ### 3. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 180 - **Form in this verse:** وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ — wal-arḍi · "and the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَٓا اٰتٰيهُمُ اللّٰهُ مِنْ فَضْلِه۪ هُوَ خَيْراً لَهُمْۜ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُمْۜ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِه۪ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِۜ وَلِلّٰهِ م۪يرَاثُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَب۪يرٌ۟ Wala yahsabanna allatheenayabkhaloona bima atahummu Allahu minfadlihi huwa khayran lahum bal huwa sharrun lahum sayutawwaqoonama bakhiloo bihi yawma alqiyamati walillahimeerathu assamawati wal-ardiwallahu bima taAAmaloona khabeer And let not those who are miserly with what God gives them of His bounty think it good for them; the truth is, it is evil for them: hung about their necks will be that with which they were miserly on the Day of Resurrection; and to God belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth; and God is aware of what you do. _https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-180.md_ ### 3. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 191 - **Form in this verse:** وَٱلْأَرْضِ — wal-arḍi · "and the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case اَلَّذ۪ينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللّٰهَ قِيَاماً وَقُعُوداً وَعَلٰى جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ ف۪ي خَلْقِ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِۚ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هٰذَا بَاطِلاًۚ سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ Allatheena yathkuroona Allahaqiyaman waquAAoodan waAAala junoobihimwayatafakkaroona fee khalqi assamawati wal-ardirabbana ma khalaqta hatha batilan subhanakafaqina AAathaba annar Those who remember God, standing and sitting and on their sides, and reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth: “Our Lord: Thou createdst not this to no purpose. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 42 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضُ — l-arḍu · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · nominative case يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوَدُّ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا وَعَصَوُا الرَّسُولَ لَوْ تُسَوّٰى بِهِمُ الْاَرْضُۜ وَلَا يَكْتُمُونَ اللّٰهَ حَد۪يثاً۟ Yawma-ithin yawaddu allatheenakafaroo waAAasawoo arrasoola law tusawwabihimu al-ardu wala yaktumoona Allaha hadeetha That day, those who ignore warning and oppose the Messenger will wish that the earth might be levelled with them; and they will not conceal from God any statement. _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-42.md_ ### 4. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 97 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case اِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ تَوَفّٰيهُمُ الْمَلٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِم۪ٓي اَنْفُسِهِمْ قَالُوا ف۪يمَ كُنْتُمْۜ قَالُوا كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَف۪ينَ فِي الْاَرْضِۜ قَالُٓوا اَلَمْ تَكُنْ اَرْضُ اللّٰهِ وَاسِعَةً فَتُهَاجِرُوا ف۪يهَاۜ فَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ مَأْوٰيهُمْ جَهَنَّمُۜ وَسَٓاءَتْ مَص۪يراًۙ Inna allatheena tawaffahumualmala-ikatu thalimee anfusihim qaloofeema kuntum qaloo kunna mustadAAafeena feeal-ardi qaloo alam takun ardu AllahiwasiAAatan fatuhajiroo feeha faola-ikama/wahum jahannamu wasaat maseera Those whom the angels take wronging their souls — they say: “In what condition were you?” Say they: “We were oppressed in the land.” They say: “Was not God’s earth spacious for you to emigrate therein?” — those: their shelter is Gehenna; and evil is it as a journey’s end; _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-97.md_ ### 4. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 97 - **Form in this verse:** أَرْضُ — arḍu · "(the) earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · nominative case اِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ تَوَفّٰيهُمُ الْمَلٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِم۪ٓي اَنْفُسِهِمْ قَالُوا ف۪يمَ كُنْتُمْۜ قَالُوا كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَف۪ينَ فِي الْاَرْضِۜ قَالُٓوا اَلَمْ تَكُنْ اَرْضُ اللّٰهِ وَاسِعَةً فَتُهَاجِرُوا ف۪يهَاۜ فَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ مَأْوٰيهُمْ جَهَنَّمُۜ وَسَٓاءَتْ مَص۪يراًۙ Inna allatheena tawaffahumualmala-ikatu thalimee anfusihim qaloofeema kuntum qaloo kunna mustadAAafeena feeal-ardi qaloo alam takun ardu AllahiwasiAAatan fatuhajiroo feeha faola-ikama/wahum jahannamu wasaat maseera Those whom the angels take wronging their souls — they say: “In what condition were you?” Say they: “We were oppressed in the land.” They say: “Was not God’s earth spacious for you to emigrate therein?” — those: their shelter is Gehenna; and evil is it as a journey’s end; _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-97.md_ ### 4. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 100 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case وَمَنْ يُهَاجِرْ ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِ يَجِدْ فِي الْاَرْضِ مُرَاغَماً كَث۪يراً وَسَعَةًۜ وَمَنْ يَخْرُجْ مِنْ بَيْتِه۪ مُهَاجِراً اِلَى اللّٰهِ وَرَسُولِه۪ ثُمَّ يُدْرِكْهُ الْمَوْتُ فَقَدْ وَقَعَ اَجْرُهُ عَلَى اللّٰهِۜ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوراً رَح۪يماً۟ Waman yuhajir fee sabeeli Allahiyajid fee al-ardi muraghaman katheeran wasaAAatanwaman yakhruj min baytihi muhajiran ila Allahiwarasoolihi thumma yudrik-hu almawtu faqad waqaAAa ajruhu AAalaAllahi wakana Allahu ghafooran raheema And whoso emigrates in the cause of God will find in the earth much refuge and abundance; and whoso leaves his house as an émigré to God and His messenger, then death overtakes him: his reward is upon God; and God is forgiving and merciful. _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-100.md_ ### 4. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 101 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case وَاِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي الْاَرْضِ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ اَنْ تَقْصُرُوا مِنَ الصَّلٰوةِۗ اِنْ خِفْتُمْ اَنْ يَفْتِنَكُمُ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُواۜ اِنَّ الْكَافِر۪ينَ كَانُوا لَكُمْ عَدُواًّ مُب۪يناً Wa-itha darabtum fee al-ardifalaysa AAalaykum junahun an taqsuroo mina assalatiin khiftum an yaftinakumu allatheena kafaroo inna alkafireenakanoo lakum AAaduwwan mubeena And when you are travelling in the earth, you do no wrong to cut short some of the duty if you fear that those who ignore warning will subject you to means of denial — the false claimers of guidance are an open enemy to you — _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-101.md_ ### 4. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 170 - **Form in this verse:** وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ — wal-arḍi · "and the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case يَٓا اَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَٓاءَكُمُ الرَّسُولُ بِالْحَقِّ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ فَاٰمِنُوا خَيْراً لَكُمْۜ وَاِنْ تَكْفُرُوا فَاِنَّ لِلّٰهِ مَا فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِۜ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَل۪يماً حَك۪يماً Ya ayyuha annasuqad jaakumu arrasoolu bilhaqqi minrabbikum faaminoo khayran lakum wa-in takfuroo fa-innalillahi ma fee assamawati wal-ardiwakana Allahu AAaleeman hakeema O mankind: the Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord; so believe, it is better for you. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 171 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case يَٓا اَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَا تَغْلُوا ف۪ي د۪ينِكُمْ وَلَا تَقُولُوا عَلَى اللّٰهِ اِلَّا الْحَقَّۜ اِنَّمَا الْمَس۪يحُ ع۪يسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُۚ اَلْقٰيهَٓا اِلٰى مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِنْهُۘ فَاٰمِنُوا بِاللّٰهِ وَرُسُلِه۪ۚ وَلَا تَقُولُوا ثَلٰثَةٌۜ اِنْتَهُوا خَيْراً لَكُمْۜ اِنَّمَا اللّٰهُ اِلٰهٌ وَاحِدٌۜ سُبْحَانَهُٓ اَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ وَلَدٌۢ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْاَرْضِۜ وَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ وَك۪يلاً۟ Ya ahla alkitabi lataghloo fee deenikum wala taqooloo AAala Allahiilla alhaqqa innama almaseehu AAeesaibnu maryama rasoolu Allahi wakalimatuhu alqahaila maryama waroohun minhu faaminoo billahiwarusulihi wala taqooloo thalathatun intahookhayran lakum innama Allahu ilahun wahidunsubhanahu an yakoona lahu waladun lahu ma fee assamawatiwama fee al-ardi wakafa billahiwakeela O doctors of the Law: exceed not bounds in your doctrine, nor ascribe to God save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary was only the messenger of God, and His word which He conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and say not: “Three.” Desist; it is best for you. God is but One God. Glory be to Him that He should have a son! Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 17 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذ۪ينَ قَالُٓوا اِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الْمَس۪يحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَۜ قُلْ فَمَنْ يَمْلِكُ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْـٔاً اِنْ اَرَادَ اَنْ يُهْلِكَ الْمَس۪يحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَاُمَّهُ وَمَنْ فِي الْاَرْضِ جَم۪يعاًۜ وَلِلّٰهِ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَاۜ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَٓاءُۜ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَد۪يرٌ Laqad kafara allatheena qalooinna Allaha huwa almaseehu ibnu maryama qul famanyamliku mina Allahi shay-an in arada an yuhlikaalmaseeha ibna maryama waommahu waman fee al-ardijameeAAan walillahi mulku assamawatiwal-ardi wama baynahuma yakhluqu mayashao wallahu AAala kulli shay-inqadeer They have denied who say: “God is the Messiah, son of Mary.” Say thou: “Who would have power over God for anything if He wished to destroy the Messiah, son of Mary, and his mother and everyone upon the earth altogether?” And to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 18 - **Form in this verse:** وَٱلْأَرْضِ — wal-arḍi · "and the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارٰى نَحْنُ اَبْنَٓاءُ اللّٰهِ وَاَحِبَّٓاؤُ۬هُۜ قُلْ فَلِمَ يُعَذِّبُكُمْ بِذُنُوبِكُمْۜ بَلْ اَنْتُمْ بَشَرٌ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَۜ يَغْفِرُ لِمَنْ يَشَٓاءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَنْ يَشَٓاءُۜ وَلِلّٰهِ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَاۘ وَاِلَيْهِ الْمَص۪يرُ Waqalati alyahoodu wannasaranahnu abnao Allahi waahibbaohuqul falima yuAAaththibukum bithunoobikum bal antumbasharun mimman khalaqa yaghfiru liman yashao wayuAAaththibuman yashao walillahi mulku assamawatiwal-ardi wama baynahuma wa-ilayhialmaseer And the Rabbinic Jews and the Christians say: “We are the sons of God and His beloved.” Say thou: “Why then does He punish you for your transgressions?” Nay, you are but mortals among those He created; He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 21 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضَ — l-arḍa · "the land" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · accusative case يَا قَوْمِ ادْخُلُوا الْاَرْضَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ الَّت۪ي كَتَبَ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَرْتَدُّوا عَلٰٓى اَدْبَارِكُمْ فَتَنْقَلِبُوا خَاسِر۪ينَ Ya qawmi odkhuloo al-ardaalmuqaddasata allatee kataba Allahu lakum walatartaddoo AAala adbarikum fatanqaliboo khasireen “O my people: enter the holy land which God has prescribed for you; and turn not back, for you will turn back as losers.” _https://quran.so/surah-al-maidah/verse-21.md_ ### 5. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 26 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case قَالَ فَاِنَّهَا مُحَرَّمَةٌ عَلَيْهِمْ اَرْبَع۪ينَ سَنَةًۚ يَت۪يهُونَ فِي الْاَرْضِ فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْفَاسِق۪ينَ۟ Qala fa-innaha muharramatunAAalayhim arbaAAeena sanatan yateehoona fee al-ardi falata/sa AAala alqawmi alfasiqeen He said: “Then shall it be forbidden them forty years; they shall wander in the earth; and grieve thou not over the perfidious people.” _https://quran.so/surah-al-maidah/verse-26.md_ ### 5. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 31 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case فَبَعَثَ اللّٰهُ غُرَاباً يَبْحَثُ فِي الْاَرْضِ لِيُرِيَهُ كَيْفَ يُوَار۪ي سَوْاَةَ اَخ۪يهِۜ قَالَ يَا وَيْلَتٰٓى اَعَجَزْتُ اَنْ اَكُونَ مِثْلَ هٰذَا الْغُرَابِ فَاُوَارِيَ سَوْاَةَ اَخ۪يۚ فَاَصْبَحَ مِنَ النَّادِم۪ينَۚۛ FabaAAatha Allahu ghuraban yabhathufee al-ardi liyuriyahu kayfa yuwaree saw-ataakheehi qala ya waylata aAAajaztu an akoonamithla hatha alghurabi faowariya saw-ataakhee faasbaha mina annadimeen Then God raised up a raven, scratching in the earth, to show him how to hide the shame of his brother. He said: “Woe is me! Am I not able to be as this raven, and hide the shame of my brother?” And he became of the remorseful. _https://quran.so/surah-al-maidah/verse-31.md_ ### 5. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 32 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case مِنْ اَجْلِ ذٰلِكَۚۛ كَتَبْنَا عَلٰى بَن۪ٓي اِسْرَٓائ۪لَ اَنَّهُ مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْساً بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ اَوْ فَسَادٍ فِي الْاَرْضِ فَكَاَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَم۪يـعاًۜ وَمَنْ اَحْيَاهَا فَكَاَنَّمَٓا اَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَم۪يعاًۜ وَلَقَدْ جَٓاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِۘ ثُمَّ اِنَّ كَث۪يراً مِنْهُمْ بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ فِي الْاَرْضِ لَمُسْرِفُونَ Min ajli thalika katabna AAalabanee isra-eela annahu man qatala nafsan bighayri nafsinaw fasadin fee al-ardi fakaannama qatala annasajameeAAan waman ahyaha fakaannama ahyaannasa jameeAAan walaqad jaat-hum rusulunabilbayyinati thumma inna katheeran minhum baAAda thalikafee al-ardi lamusrifoon For that cause We prescribed for the children of Israel that whoso takes a life other than for a life or corruption in the land, it will be as if he killed mankind altogether; (and whoso gives life, it will be as if he gave life to mankind altogether ­— and Our messengers came to them with clear signs, then many of them after that are committers of excess in the earth — ) _https://quran.so/surah-al-maidah/verse-32.md_ ### 5. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 64 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ يَدُ اللّٰهِ مَغْلُولَةٌۜ غُلَّتْ اَيْد۪يهِمْ وَلُعِنُوا بِمَا قَالُواۢ بَلْ يَدَاهُ مَبْسُوطَتَانِۙ يُنْفِقُ كَيْفَ يَشَٓاءُۜ وَلَيَز۪يدَنَّ كَث۪يراً مِنْهُمْ مَٓا اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ طُغْيَاناً وَكُفْراًۜ وَاَلْقَيْنَا بَيْنَهُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَٓاءَ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيٰمَةِۜ كُلَّمَٓا اَوْقَدُوا نَاراً لِلْحَرْبِ اَطْفَاَهَا اللّٰهُۙ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِي الْاَرْضِ فَسَاداًۜ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِد۪ينَ Waqalati alyahoodu yadu Allahimaghloolatun ghullat aydeehim waluAAinoo bima qaloobal yadahu mabsootatani yunfiqu kayfa yashaowalayazeedanna katheeran minhum ma onzila ilayka minrabbika tughyanan wakufran waalqaynabaynahumu alAAadawata walbaghdaa ilayawmi alqiyamati kullama awqadoo naran lilharbiatfaaha Allahu wayasAAawna fee al-ardifasadan wallahu la yuhibbualmufsideen And the Rabbinic Jews say: “The hand of God is fettered.” Fettered are their hands! And cursed are they for what they say! Nay, His hands are spread wide; He spends how He wills. And there increases many of them in inordinacy and denial what was sent down to thee from thy Lord. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 106 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا شَهَادَةُ بَيْنِكُمْ اِذَا حَضَرَ اَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ ح۪ينَ الْوَصِيَّةِ اثْنَانِ ذَوَا عَدْلٍ مِنْكُمْ اَوْ اٰخَرَانِ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ اِنْ اَنْتُمْ ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي الْاَرْضِ فَاَصَابَتْكُمْ مُص۪يبَةُ الْمَوْتِۜ تَحْبِسُونَهُمَا مِنْ بَعْدِ الصَّلٰوةِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِاللّٰهِ اِنِ ارْتَبْتُمْ لَا نَشْتَر۪ي بِه۪ ثَمَناً وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبٰىۙ وَلَا نَكْتُمُ شَهَادَةَ اللّٰهِ اِنَّٓا اِذاً لَمِنَ الْاٰثِم۪ينَ Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooshahadatu baynikum itha hadara ahadakumualmawtu heena alwasiyyati ithnani thawaAAadlin minkum aw akharani min ghayrikum in antum darabtumfee al-ardi faasabatkum museebatu almawti tahbisoonahumamin baAAdi assalati fayuqsimani billahiini irtabtum la nashtaree bihi thamanan walaw kana thaqurba wala naktumu shahadata Allahiinna ithan lamina al-athimeen O you who heed warning: a witness between you when death approaches one of you at the time of bequest is two just men among you; or two others from other than yourselves if you are travelling in the earth when the calamity of death befalls you. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 35 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case وَاِنْ كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكَ اِعْرَاضُهُمْ فَاِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ اَنْ تَبْتَغِيَ نَفَقاً فِي الْاَرْضِ اَوْ سُلَّماً فِي السَّمَٓاءِ فَتَأْتِيَهُمْ بِاٰيَةٍۜ وَلَوْ شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ لَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى الْهُدٰى فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْجَاهِل۪ينَ Wa-in kana kabura AAalayka iAAraduhumfa-ini istataAAta an tabtaghiya nafaqan fee al-ardiaw sullaman fee assama-i fata/tiyahum bi-ayatinwalaw shaa Allahu lajamaAAahum AAala alhudafala takoonanna mina aljahileen And if their evasion be hard for thee: if thou art able to seek a tunnel in the earth or a stairway in the sky to bring to them a proof[...]. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 59 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "(of) the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case وَعِنْدَهُ مَفَاتِـحُ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهَٓا اِلَّا هُوَۜ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِۜ وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِنْ وَرَقَةٍ اِلَّا يَعْلَمُهَا وَلَا حَبَّةٍ ف۪ي ظُلُمَاتِ الْاَرْضِ وَلَا رَطْبٍ وَلَا يَابِسٍ اِلَّا ف۪ي كِتَابٍ مُب۪ينٍ WaAAindahu mafatihu alghaybi layaAAlamuha illa huwa wayaAAlamu ma feealbarri walbahri wama tasqutu minwaraqatin illa yaAAlamuha wala habbatinfee thulumati al-ardi wala ratbinwala yabisin illa fee kitabin mubeen And with Him are the keys of the Unseen; and none knows them but He. And He knows what is in the land and the sea; and not a leaf falls but He knows it; nor is there a grain in the darknesses of the earth, and nothing moist or dry, but is in a clear writ. _https://quran.so/surah-al-anam/verse-59.md_ ### 6. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 71 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأَرْضِ — l-arḍi · "the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case قُلْ اَنَدْعُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِ مَا لَا يَنْفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلٰٓى اَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ اِذْ هَدٰينَا اللّٰهُ كَالَّذِي اسْتَهْوَتْهُ الشَّيَاط۪ينُ فِي الْاَرْضِ حَيْرَانَۖ لَهُٓ اَصْحَابٌ يَدْعُونَهُٓ اِلَى الْهُدَى ائْتِنَاۜ قُلْ اِنَّ هُدَى اللّٰهِ هُوَ الْهُدٰىۜ وَاُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَم۪ينَۙ Qul anadAAoo min dooni Allahi mala yanfaAAuna wala yadurrunawanuraddu AAala aAAqabina baAAda ithhadana Allahu kallathee istahwat-huashshayateenu fee al-ardi hayranalahu as-habun yadAAoonahu ila alhudai/tina qul inna huda Allahi huwa alhudawaomirna linuslima lirabbi alAAalameen Say thou: “Shall we call, rather than to God, to what neither profits us nor harms us, and be turned back on our heels after God has guided us? — like one whom the satans seduce in the earth, lost in confusion, he having companions inviting him to guidance: ‘Come thou to us!’” Say thou: “The guidance of God, that is guidance; and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of All Creation”; _https://quran.so/surah-al-anam/verse-71.md_ ### 6. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 73 - **Form in this verse:** وَٱلْأَرْضَ — wal-arḍa · "and the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · accusative case وَهُوَ الَّذ۪ي خَلَقَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّۜ وَيَوْمَ يَقُولُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُۜ قَوْلُهُ الْحَقُّۜ وَلَهُ الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِۜ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِۜ وَهُوَ الْحَك۪يمُ الْخَب۪يرُ Wahuwa allathee khalaqa assamawatiwal-arda bilhaqqi wayawma yaqoolukun fayakoonu qawluhu alhaqqu walahu almulku yawmayunfakhu fee assoori AAalimu alghaybi washshahadatiwahuwa alhakeemu alkhabeer And He it is that created the heavens and the earth in truth. And the day He says: “Be thou,” then it is. His word is the truth. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 101 - **Form in this verse:** وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ — wal-arḍi · "and the earth" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine · genitive case بَد۪يعُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِۜ اَنّٰى يَكُونُ لَهُ وَلَدٌ وَلَمْ تَكُنْ لَهُ صَاحِبَةٌۜ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَل۪يمٌ BadeeAAu assamawatiwal-ardi anna yakoonu lahu waladun walamtakun lahu sahibatun wakhalaqa kulla shay-in wahuwabikulli shay-in AAaleem The Originator of the Heavens and the Earth: how could He have a son when He has no companion, and He created all things? He covers the night, the day hastening after it swiftly, and the sun and the moon and the stars are subject by His command. In truth, His are the creation and the command. He said: “O my people: serve God; you have no god but He; there has come to you clear evidence from your Lord: this is the she-camel of God, as a proof for you, so leave her to eat in God’s earth, and touch her not with evil lest there take you a painful punishment. _https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-73.md_ ### 7. He said: “O my people: serve God; you have no god but He; there has come to you clear evidence from your Lord, so fulfil the measure and the balance, and deprive not people of their possessions; and work not corruption in the land after its right ordering; that is better for you, if you be believers. _https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-85.md_ ### 7. There is no god save He. So his likeness is as the likeness of a dog: if thou win him over, he pants; or if thou leave him, he pants.
