And We made not the course which thou wast on save that We might know him who follows the Messenger from him who turns on his heels. And it is hard save for those whom God has guided. And there differed therein only those who were given it, after clear signs had come to them, through sectarian zealotry between them. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 7 - **Form in this verse:** أُمُّ — ummu · "the foundation" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, singular · nominative case هُوَ الَّـذ۪ٓي اَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ اٰيَاتٌ مُحْكَمَاتٌ هُنَّ اُمُّ الْكِتَابِ وَاُخَرُ مُتَشَابِهَاتٌۜ فَاَمَّا الَّذ۪ينَ ف۪ي قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ ابْتِغَٓاءَ الْفِتْنَةِ وَابْتِغَٓاءَ تَأْو۪يلِه۪ۚ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْو۪يلَهُٓ اِلَّا اللّٰهُۢ وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ اٰمَنَّا بِه۪ۙ كُلٌّ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَبِّنَاۚ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ اِلَّٓا اُو۬لُوا الْاَلْبَابِ Huwa allathee anzala AAalayka alkitabaminhu ayatun muhkamatun hunna ommualkitabi waokharu mutashabihatun faammaallatheena fee quloobihim zayghun fayattabiAAoona matashabaha minhu ibtighaa alfitnati wabtighaata/weelihi wama yaAAlamu ta/weelahu illa Allahuwarrasikhoona fee alAAilmi yaqooloona amannabihi kullun min AAindi rabbina wama yaththakkaruilla oloo al-albab He it is that sent down upon thee the Writ; among it are explicit proofs: they are the foundation of the Writ; and others are ambiguous. Then as for those in whose hearts is deviation: they follow what is ambiguous thereof, seeking the means of denial, and seeking its interpretation. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 20 - **Form in this verse:** وَٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ — wal-umiyīna · "and the unlettered people" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine, plural · genitive case فَاِنْ حَٓاجُّوكَ فَقُلْ اَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلّٰهِ وَمَنِ اتَّـبَعَنِۜ وَقُلْ لِلَّذ۪ينَ اُو۫تُوا الْكِتَابَ وَالْاُمِّيّ۪نَ ءَاَسْلَمْتُمْۜ فَاِنْ اَسْلَمُوا فَقَدِ اهْتَدَوْاۚ وَاِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَاِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلَاغُۜ وَاللّٰهُ بَص۪يرٌ بِالْعِبَادِ۟ Fa-in hajjooka faqul aslamtu wajhiyalillahi wamani ittabaAAani waqul lillatheena ootooalkitaba walommiyyeena aaslamtum fa-inaslamoo faqadi ihtadaw wa-in tawallaw fa-innama AAalaykaalbalaghu wallahu baseerun bilAAibad And if they argue with thee, then say thou: “I have submitted my face to God, as have those who follow me.” And say thou to those given the Writ and to the unschooled: “Have you submitted?” And if they have submitted, then are they guided; but if they turn away, then upon thee is only the notification; and God sees the servants. _https://quran.so/surah-ali-imran/verse-20.md_ ### 3. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 75 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ — l-umiyīna · "the unlettered people" - **Grammar:** noun · masculine, plural · genitive case وَمِنْ اَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مَنْ اِنْ تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنْطَارٍ يُؤَدِّه۪ٓ اِلَيْكَۚ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ اِنْ تَأْمَنْهُ بِد۪ينَارٍ لَا يُؤَدِّه۪ٓ اِلَيْكَ اِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَٓائِماًۜ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِي الْاُمِّيّ۪نَ سَب۪يلٌۚ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ Wamin ahli alkitabi man in ta/manhubiqintarin yu-addihi ilayka waminhum man in ta/manhubideenarin la yu-addihi ilayka illa madumta AAalayhi qa-iman thalika bi-annahum qaloolaysa AAalayna fee al-ommiyyeena sabeelun wayaqooloonaAAala Allahi alkathiba wahum yaAAlamoon And among the doctors of the Law is he who, if thou entrust him with a fortune, will deliver it to thee. And among them is he who, if thou entrust him with a dinar, will not return it to thee unless thou stand over him. Surah Ali 'Imran, Verse 110 - **Form in this verse:** أُمَّةٍ — ummatin · "(of) people" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, singular · genitive case · indefinite كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ اُمَّةٍ اُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّٰهِۜ وَلَوْ اٰمَنَ اَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ لَكَانَ خَيْراً لَهُمْۜ مِنْهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَاَكْثَرُهُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ Kuntum khayra ommatin okhrijat linnasita/muroona bilmaAAroofi watanhawna AAani almunkariwatu/minoona billahi walaw amana ahlu alkitabilakana khayran lahum minhumu almu/minoona waaktharuhumualfasiqoon You are the best community brought forth for mankind: you enjoin what is fitting, and you forbid perversity, and you believe in God. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 11 - **Form in this verse:** فَلِأُمِّهِ — fali-ummihi · "then for his mother" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, singular · genitive case يُوص۪يكُمُ اللّٰهُ ف۪ٓي اَوْلَادِكُمْ لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الْاُنْثَيَيْنِۚ فَاِنْ كُنَّ نِسَٓاءً فَوْقَ اثْنَتَيْنِ فَلَهُنَّ ثُلُثَا مَا تَرَكَۚ وَاِنْ كَانَتْ وَاحِدَةً فَلَهَا النِّصْفُۜ وَلِاَبَوَيْهِ لِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا السُّدُسُ مِمَّا تَرَكَ اِنْ كَانَ لَهُ وَلَدٌۚ فَاِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلَدٌ وَوَرِثَهُٓ اَبَوَاهُ فَلِاُمِّهِ الثُّلُثُۚ فَاِنْ كَانَ لَهُٓ اِخْوَةٌ فَلِاُمِّهِ السُّدُسُ مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوص۪ي بِهَٓا اَوْ دَيْنٍۜ اٰبَٓاؤُ۬كُمْ وَاَبْنَٓاؤُ۬كُمْۚ لَا تَدْرُونَ اَيُّهُمْ اَقْرَبُ لَكُمْ نَفْعاًۚ فَر۪يضَةً مِنَ اللّٰهِۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَل۪يماً حَك۪يماً Yooseekumu Allahu fee awladikumliththakari mithlu haththialonthayayni fa-in kunna nisaan fawqa ithnatayni falahunnathulutha ma taraka wa-in kanat wahidatanfalaha annisfu wali-abawayhi likulli wahidinminhuma assudusu mimma taraka in kanalahu waladun fa-in lam yakun lahu waladun wawarithahu abawahufali-ommihi aththuluthu fa-in kana lahu ikhwatunfali-ommihi assudusu min baAAdi wasiyyatin yooseebiha aw daynin abaokum waabnaokum latadroona ayyuhum aqrabu lakum nafAAan fareedatan mina Allahiinna Allaha kana AAaleeman hakeema God charges you concerning your children: for the male is the like of the portion of two females; but if there are women above two, then for them is two-thirds of what he left; and if she is one, then for her is half; and for his parents: for each one of them is one-sixth of what he left if he has a child. Then if he has not a child and there inherit from him his parents, for his mother is one-third; but if he has brothers or sisters: for his mother is one-sixth, after a bequest he has made, or debt — your parents and your children: you know not which of them is nearer to you in benefit — as an obligation from God; God is knowing and wise. _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-11.md_ ### 4. Surah An-Nisa, Verse 23 - **Form in this verse:** أُمَّهَـٰتُكُمْ — ummahātukum · "(are) your mothers" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, plural · nominative case حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ اُمَّهَاتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُكُمْ وَاَخَوَاتُكُمْ وَعَمَّاتُكُمْ وَخَالَاتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُ الْاَخِ وَبَنَاتُ الْاُخْتِ وَاُمَّهَاتُكُمُ الّٰت۪ٓي اَرْضَعْنَكُمْ وَاَخَوَاتُكُمْ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ وَاُمَّهَاتُ نِسَٓائِكُمْ وَرَبَٓائِبُكُمُ الّٰت۪ي ف۪ي حُجُورِكُمْ مِنْ نِسَٓائِكُمُ الّٰت۪ي دَخَلْتُمْ بِهِنَّۘ فَاِنْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا دَخَلْتُمْ بِهِنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْۘ وَحَلَٓائِلُ اَبْنَٓائِكُمُ الَّذ۪ينَ مِنْ اَصْلَابِكُمْۙ وَاَنْ تَجْمَعُوا بَيْنَ الْاُخْتَيْنِ اِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ غَفُوراً رَح۪يماًۙ Hurrimat AAalaykum ommahatukumwabanatukum waakhawatukum waAAammatukum wakhalatukumwabanatu al-akhi wabanatu al-okhti waommahatukumuallatee ardaAAnakum waakhawatukum mina arradaAAatiwaommahatu nisa-ikum waraba-ibukumu allateefee hujoorikum min nisa-ikumu allateedakhaltum bihinna fa-in lam takoonoo dakhaltum bihinna falajunaha AAalaykum wahala-ilu abna-ikumuallatheena min aslabikum waan tajmaAAoobayna al-okhtayni illa ma qad salafa inna Allahakana ghafooran raheema Forbidden to you are your mothers, and your daughters, and your sisters, and your paternal aunts, and your maternal aunts, and the daughters of your brother, and the daughters of your sister, and your milk-mothers, and your milk-sisters, and the mothers of your wives, and your step-daughters under your protection from your wives unto whom you have gone in (and if you have gone not in unto them, then there is no wrong upon you) and the wives of your sons of your loins, and that you bring two sisters together, save what is past; God is forgiving and merciful; _https://quran.so/surah-an-nisa/verse-23.md_ ### 4. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 2 - **Form in this verse:** ءَآمِّينَ — āmmīna · "(those) coming" - **Grammar:** noun · active · masculine, plural · accusative case يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تُحِلُّوا شَعَٓائِرَ اللّٰهِ وَلَا الشَّهْرَ الْحَرَامَ وَلَا الْهَدْيَ وَلَا الْقَلَٓائِدَ وَلَٓا آٰمّ۪ينَ الْبَيْتَ الْحَرَامَ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلاً مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَرِضْوَاناًۜ وَاِذَا حَلَلْتُمْ فَاصْطَادُواۜ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَاٰنُ قَوْمٍ اَنْ صَدُّوكُمْ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ اَنْ تَعْتَدُواۢ وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوٰىۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْاِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ شَد۪يدُ الْعِقَابِ Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tuhilloo shaAAa-ira Allahi walaashshahra alharama wala alhadya walaalqala-ida wala ammeena albayta alharamayabtaghoona fadlan min rabbihim waridwananwa-itha halaltum fastadoo walayajrimannakum shanaanu qawmin an saddookum AAanialmasjidi alharami an taAAtadoo wataAAawanooAAala albirri wattaqwa wala taAAawanooAAala al-ithmi walAAudwani wattaqooAllaha inna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqab O you who heed warning: violate not the tokens of God, nor the inviolable month, nor the offering, nor the necklaces, nor the visitors to the inviolable house seeking the favour of their Lord and approval. And when you are permitted, then you may hunt. And let not hatred of a people who turned you away from the inviolable place of worship move you to commit injustice. And assist one another to virtue and prudent fear; and assist not one another in sin and enmity. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 17 - **Form in this verse:** وَأُمَّهُۥ — wa-ummahu · "and his mother" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, singular · accusative case لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذ۪ينَ قَالُٓوا اِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الْمَس۪يحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَۜ قُلْ فَمَنْ يَمْلِكُ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْـٔاً اِنْ اَرَادَ اَنْ يُهْلِكَ الْمَس۪يحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَاُمَّهُ وَمَنْ فِي الْاَرْضِ جَم۪يعاًۜ وَلِلّٰهِ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَاۜ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَٓاءُۜ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَد۪يرٌ Laqad kafara allatheena qalooinna Allaha huwa almaseehu ibnu maryama qul famanyamliku mina Allahi shay-an in arada an yuhlikaalmaseeha ibna maryama waommahu waman fee al-ardijameeAAan walillahi mulku assamawatiwal-ardi wama baynahuma yakhluqu mayashao wallahu AAala kulli shay-inqadeer They have denied who say: “God is the Messiah, son of Mary.” Say thou: “Who would have power over God for anything if He wished to destroy the Messiah, son of Mary, and his mother and everyone upon the earth altogether?” And to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 48 - **Form in this verse:** أُمَّةًۭ — ummatan · "a community" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, singular · accusative case · indefinite وَاَنْزَلْـنَٓا اِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقاً لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَمُهَيْمِناً عَلَيْهِ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَٓا اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ اَهْوَٓاءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَٓاءَكَ مِنَ الْحَقِّۜ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنْكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجاًۜ وَلَوْ شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ اُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلٰكِنْ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ ف۪ي مَٓا اٰتٰيكُمْ فَاسْتَبِقُوا الْخَيْرَاتِۜ اِلَى اللّٰهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَم۪يعاً فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ ف۪يهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَۙ Waanzalna ilayka alkitaba bilhaqqimusaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi mina alkitabiwamuhayminan AAalayhi fahkum baynahum bimaanzala Allahu wala tattabiAA ahwaahum AAammajaaka mina alhaqqi likullin jaAAalna minkumshirAAatan waminhajan walaw shaa AllahulajaAAalakum ommatan wahidatan walakin liyabluwakumfeema atakum fastabiqoo alkhayratiila Allahi marjiAAukum jameeAAan fayunabbi-okum bimakuntum feehi takhtalifoon And We sent down to thee the Writ with the truth, confirming what is before it of the Writ, and as a control over it. So judge thou between them by what God has sent down; and follow thou not their vain desires away from what has come to thee of the truth. For each of you We appointed an ordinance and a procedure. And had God willed, He could have made you one community; but that He might try you in what He gave you[...]. — So vie in good deeds; unto God will you return all together, and He will inform you of that wherein you differed — _https://quran.so/surah-al-maidah/verse-48.md_ ### 5. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 66 - **Form in this verse:** أُمَّةٌۭ — ummatun · "(is) a community" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, singular · nominative case · indefinite وَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ اَقَامُوا التَّوْرٰيةَ وَالْاِنْج۪يلَ وَمَٓا اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ لَاَكَلُوا مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِنْ تَحْتِ اَرْجُلِهِمْۜ مِنْهُمْ اُمَّةٌ مُقْتَصِدَةٌۜ وَكَث۪يرٌ مِنْهُمْ سَٓاءَ مَا يَعْمَلُونَ۟ Walaw annahum aqamoo attawratawal-injeela wama onzila ilayhim min rabbihimlaakaloo min fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim minhum ommatunmuqtasidatun wakatheerun minhum saa mayaAAmaloon And had they upheld the Torah and the Gospel and what was sent down to them from their Lord, they would have eaten from above them and from under their feet. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 75 - **Form in this verse:** وَأُمُّهُۥ — wa-ummuhu · "And his mother" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, singular · nominative case مَا الْمَس۪يحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ اِلَّا رَسُولٌۚ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُۜ وَاُمُّهُ صِدّ۪يقَةٌۜ كَانَا يَأْكُلَانِ الطَّعَامَۜ اُنْظُرْ كَيْفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ الْاٰيَاتِ ثُمَّ انْظُرْ اَنّٰى يُؤْفَكُونَ Ma almaseehu ibnu maryama illarasoolun qad khalat min qablihi arrusulu waommuhu siddeeqatunkana ya/kulani attaAAamaonthur kayfa nubayyinu lahumu al-ayatithumma onthur anna yu/fakoon The Messiah, son of Mary, was but a messenger; messengers had passed away before him; and his mother was a woman of truth; they both ate food. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 116 - **Form in this verse:** وَأُمِّىَ — wa-ummiya · "and my mother" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, singular · accusative case وَاِذْ قَالَ اللّٰهُ يَا ع۪يسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ ءَاَنْتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ اتَّخِذُون۪ي وَاُمِّيَ اِلٰهَيْنِ مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِۜ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ مَا يَكُونُ ل۪ٓي اَنْ اَقُولَ مَا لَيْسَ ل۪ي بِحَقٍّۜ اِنْ كُنْتُ قُلْتُهُ فَقَدْ عَلِمْتَهُۜ تَعْلَمُ مَا ف۪ي نَفْس۪ي وَلَٓا اَعْلَمُ مَا ف۪ي نَفْسِكَۜ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ Wa-ith qala Allahu yaAAeesa ibna maryama aanta qulta linnasiittakhithoonee waommiya ilahayni min dooni Allahiqala subhanaka ma yakoonu lee an aqoola malaysa lee bihaqqin in kuntu qultuhu faqad AAalimtahutaAAlamu ma fee nafsee wala aAAlamu ma feenafsika innaka anta AAallamu alghuyoob And when God will say: “O Jesus, son of Mary: didst thou say to men: ‘Take me and my mother as two gods besides God?’” he will say: “Glory be to Thee! It was not for me to say that to which I had no right! If I had said it, then Thou wouldst have known it. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 38 - **Form in this verse:** أُمَمٌ — umamun · "(are) communities" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, plural · nominative case · indefinite وَمَا مِنْ دَٓابَّةٍ فِي الْاَرْضِ وَلَا طَٓائِرٍ يَط۪يرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ اِلَّٓا اُمَمٌ اَمْثَالُكُمْۜ مَا فَرَّطْنَا فِي الْكِتَابِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ ثُمَّ اِلٰى رَبِّهِمْ يُحْشَرُونَ Wama min dabbatin fee al-ardiwala ta-irin yateeru bijanahayhi illaomamun amthalukum ma farratna feealkitabi min shay-in thumma ila rabbihim yuhsharoon And there is no creature in the earth, nor bird flying on its wings save they are communities the likes of you — We have not neglected anything in the Writ — then to their Lord will they be gathered. _https://quran.so/surah-al-anam/verse-38.md_ ### 6. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 92 - **Form in this verse:** أُمَّ — umma · "(the) mother" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, singular · accusative case وَهٰذَا كِتَابٌ اَنْزَلْنَاهُ مُبَارَكٌ مُصَدِّقُ الَّذ۪ي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلِتُنْذِرَ اُمَّ الْقُرٰى وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَاۜ وَالَّذ۪ينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِه۪ وَهُمْ عَلٰى صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ Wahatha kitabun anzalnahumubarakun musaddiqu allathee bayna yadayhiwalitunthira omma alqura waman hawlahawallatheena yu/minoona bil-akhiratiyu/minoona bihi wahum AAala salatihim yuhafithoon And this is a Writ We have sent down, one blessed, confirming what was before it, and that thou warn the mother of cities and those around her; and those who believe in the Hereafter believe in it, and they preserve their duty. _https://quran.so/surah-al-anam/verse-92.md_ ### 6. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 108 - **Form in this verse:** أُمَّةٍ — ummatin · "community" - **Grammar:** noun · feminine, singular · genitive case · indefinite وَلَا تَسُبُّوا الَّذ۪ينَ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِ فَيَسُبُّوا اللّٰهَ عَدْواً بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۜ كَذٰلِكَ زَيَّنَّا لِكُلِّ اُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمْ ثُمَّ اِلٰى رَبِّهِمْ مَرْجِعُهُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ Wala tasubboo allatheenayadAAoona min dooni Allahi fayasubboo AllahaAAadwan bighayri AAilmin kathalika zayyanna likulliommatin AAamalahum thumma ila rabbihim marjiAAuhumfayunabbi-ohum bima kanoo yaAAmaloon And revile not those to whom they call besides God lest they revile God in enmity without knowledge. Said he: “Son of my mother: the people despised me and were about to kill me. Surah Al-A'raf, Verse 157 - **Form in this verse:** ٱلْأُمِّىَّ — l-umiya · "the unlettered" - **Grammar:** adjective · masculine, singular · accusative case اَلَّذ۪ينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الْاُمِّيَّ الَّذ۪ي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوباً عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرٰيةِ وَالْاِنْج۪يلِۘ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهٰيهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَٓائِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ اِصْرَهُمْ وَالْاَغْلَالَ الَّت۪ي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْۜ فَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا بِه۪ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّورَ الَّـذ۪ٓي اُنْزِلَ مَعَهُٓۙ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ۟ Allatheena yattabiAAoona arrasoolaannabiyya al-ommiyya allathee yajidoonahumaktooban AAindahum fee attawrati wal-injeeliya/muruhum bilmaAAroofi wayanhahum AAani almunkariwayuhillu lahumu attayyibati wayuharrimuAAalayhimu alkhaba-itha wayadaAAu AAanhum israhumwal-aghlala allatee kanat AAalayhim fallatheenaamanoo bihi waAAazzaroohu wanasaroohu wattabaAAooannoora allathee onzila maAAahu ola-ikahumu almuflihoon “Those who follow the Messenger, the unschooled prophet, whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins on them what is fitting and forbids them perversity, and making lawful for them the good things, and making unlawful for them the bad, and relieving them of their burden and the fetters that were upon them — those who believed in him, and supported him, and helped him, and followed the light which was sent down with him: it is they who are the successful.” _https://quran.so/surah-al-araf/verse-157.md_ ### 7. There is no god save He. And We instructed Moses when his people sought water of him: “Strike thou with thy staff the rock”; and there gushed therefrom twelve springs — each people knew its drinking-place. And a witness from Him recites it; and before it was the Writ of Moses as an example and a mercy; those believe in it. But whoso denies it among the parties, then the Fire is his appointed place. And thou didst kill a soul; and We delivered thee from distress, and subjected thee to means of denial by a trial. But when you enter houses, greet one another with a greeting from God, blessed and good. And He sent down for you of the cattle eight pairs. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers — creation after creation — in three darknesses.
