Moses said, "Indeed I did it but I am lost how it happened!" (I only struck him once with a fist and he died (28:15)).
He said: “I did it when I was of those who stray.
He said: "I did it, and I was of those misguided."
He said, "I did it, and I was of those misguided."
He said, "Indeed, I did it when I was astray.
(Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong,
said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray.
Replied : "I committed it while I was still going astray;
He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray.
Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly.*
"I did what I did then", Mussa said, when my action was not circumspect because of the web of circumstances you shaped after your own manner.
Moses said: "I confess to the crime that I committed when I was an unjust person. "
Mûsâ (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message).
Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error.
Moses replied, "I did it then, lacking guidance.
He said, "I did that at a time when I was mistaken.
Moses replied, ‘I was misguided when I did it
Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray;
Said he, 'I did commit this, and I was of those who erred.
"And you did do a deed which you know you did do (he slew an Egyptian), and you are of the ungrateful!"
He (Mûsa) (Moses) said, "lo, I performed it and I was of the erring.
Moses replied, I did it indeed, and I was one of those who erred;
Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was wrong.
(Moses) said, `Indeed I did it (then inadvertently and) as I was lost (for the love of my people and was in a perplexed state of mind).
He said, ‘I did that when I was astray.
