Just as We sent down punishment on the dissectors,
As We have sent down on the dividers.
We did send down punishment upon the formulators of sects, after such warnings.

Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books
Just as We had revealed to the separators
such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who broke it up into parts,
Such as We send down for those who make division,
even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments;
Just as We had sent down a warning to those who treated Our Scriptures in the way it suited them dividing them into parts, accepting some and rejecting others.
This warning is like the one that I sent to those who divided their religion into different sects.
As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians).
(Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),-
˹a warning˺ similar to what We sent to those who divided ˹the Scriptures˺,
(to warn them that We may send down the scourge upon them) as We sent down upon the dividers.

So We sent it down to the partitioners,

(Anger) as We have sent down on those who have divided (the Word of Allah in parts as they please)—
Since We (have decided to) send down (this revelation full of warnings) to those who have formed themselves into factions by taking oaths (against you).
